Dance with me peons~!
Name: Angela Hearth Celis
Age: 13
Gender: Female
# Of Years You've Attended CHB: 0.7 (8.4 months)
Godly Parent: Hestia (Claimed by Dionysus; asides Cleo, only the cabin leader of his cabin knows about this)
Which Side You're On: Neutral (Leaning on Zeus)
Appearance:
Short, adorably so, in fact. Angela is not all that heavy either. She stands at 131cm (4.3ft) and weighs about 41kg (90lbs); her skin is light brown. She has a egg-shaped face with bright, dark brown eyes and long straight black hair tied into a single braid held by a golden band.
Angela has a habit of wearing long, clothing like skirts or tunics to hide various scars she's received from monsters. These scars are heal-able if she so chooses, but for whatever reason she does not heal them.
Skills: Empathy - Not a power or a ability; Angela, being an extremely caring person, is extremely sensitive to the feeling so of others, to the point where it's almost like mind-reading when she tries to find out what's wrong so as to help them.
Singer - Not as good as children of Apollo or other music-related gods, but it's still very soothing to listen to. She's particularly good at singing lullabies.
First-Aid - she can preform first aid. Nothing magical, just band-aids and stuff.
Friend of Monsters - for some reason, she can befriend some monster. Not much of a skill, it seems, until you consider that they become potential allies and guardians for her in the future.
Powers: Warmth - She can make people feel warm and fend off the cold.
Sanctuary - Angela can declare any building with a fireplace as a home and sanctuary. As long as she is conscious, no one, barring gods and Titans working together with a demigod, can destroy said sanctuary and neither can anyone inside it be harmed. Drains her stamina extremely quickly. She can keep it active for a longer amount of time by sacrificing her lifespan.
Personality: A simple word to sum up Angela would be: Saint - the girl is as self-sacrificing and loving as a person can get. Perhaps even beyond what is possible. She is a martyr and a good one at that. Angela always forgives, and this attitude doesn't just apply to humans and demigods, no, she applies this same self-sacrificing martyrdom to monsters and various gods as well.
Any form of hostility is practically impossible for her. She is for the most part silent, choosing to act rather than talk, and abhors violence. Some may call her naive or otherwise faking it, but the truth of the matter is that this is just who she is. She is not blind to how dark the world can get, but she is often found to remind people that there's such thing as brightness in the world as well.
She is a deep and thoughtful thinker, often struggling with how she balances the lives of others against her own - she would sacrifice herself in a heartbeat, but she ponders often on what her death would truly mean for others. She is a bit afraid of having her death be meaningless, even worse, she's afraid of her life being meaningless.
* As a demigod, she is a singular, one of a kind existence - her godly parent is Hestia, one of the Virgin Goddesses, and a farmer. The goddess of the hearth chanced upon her father some point just before the Second Titanomachy. At the time, he was still a young boy, no older than twelve. What drew him to her initially was his gathering of wood for fire, and since then, she had constantly visited him. She changed her form to match his growing one, appearing to grow older with him. The boy, Aldo Celis, was a simple man with an extraordinary heart. He was perseverant, passionate, caring, and tender, like the stroke of a fire from a the hearth. * Years passed since their initial meeting, and he was now a young man of 18. Hestia, at this time, had a bad premonition. This feeling spurred her to reveal her identity to him. His reaction was not what she expected; apparently, he had already known. He did not know exactly what she was, though, just that she was special. He thanked her for being honest with him. Hestia told him about her premonition, warned him to be careful, and finally, promised to protect him. It was not an oath to the Styx, merely a promise between two who had known and come to love each other through the years. * Then, came the Civil War. * Before it erupted, there were stirring of it, and with them her premonition grew stronger. As was natural, she kept herself neutral, all the while looking after those things that were close to her - Aldo included. For some years there was simple conflict, nothing open yet, and Hestia grew relaxed. That, unfortunately, was a mistake. * Though the gods did not act against each other, their conflict affected the performance of their children, demigods who were supposed to destroy monsters and keep the balance began disrupting it instead. Mortals were caught in the crossfire, more than what could be counted, and for a single, brief moment, Hestia was caught off guard. In that time, Aldo was killed. He had died trying to stop demigods from fighting each other, only to be struck by the monster that they were supposed to be fighting. Hestia was there in a moment, but it was too late. * While he was dying, Hestia confessed, and promised that more than his memory, his legacy of kindness would live on. The promise was a bit late, it seemed, but to Hesita, she felt that perhaps it provided a sense of ease as he died. As his soul escaped his body, Hestia took a part of it, focusing on the best parts of Aldo; his kindness, his gentleness, his hear and his love. For nine months, she shaped the remnants of his soul, mixing her energy with his, and gave 'birth' to Angela. * It was when she was fully shaped that Hestia slapped herself for her lack of foresight. She had no one to raise her new child, not to mention the number of people who would target her. She called Dionysus, who owed her many favors, and asked him to assist in hiding her child. She was hidden in a discreet orphanage near Camp-Half-Blood, were Dionysus and her could keep an eye out for her without being suspicious. * Angela grew up like with her fathers personality - no, it would be more correct to say she grew up with too much of it. Hestia had taken the best parts, yes, but she had not tempered it or balanced it properly. Angela was helpful to the extent where it sometimes seemed like she wasn't even human anymore. She was kind and gentle to the point where it was physically harming her! Monsters that approached her, intending to eat her, half of the time became her friends and sometimes protectors, but not before injuring her in some form of the other. The other half, the ones that were all but determined to kill her, were in turn killed mercilessly and brutally by Cleo, often without her knowledge. Other people where prone to take advantage of her, due to her nature, which Angela gladly allowed - if they needed help, she would give it. For her that was simple logic. * It was in this same orphanage that she met Cleo. For some reason, the older boy immediately attached himself to her, growing protective and harsh to anyone who so much as tried to harm her. She often acted as a counter influence against his more violent and sadistic tendencies. Once she turned thirteen, Cleo himself took her to Camp Half-Blood, where she was claimed by Dionysus. So far, the only ones aware of her true parentage are Hestia, Dionysus, Cleo and the head of Dionysus Cabin. Not even she herself knows about her relationship to Hestia.
The first thing I noticed that kind of messes up your CS is that Hestia met Angela's father after the camps United, but this Rp takes place ten years after the events of last book.
Hm, in which case I'd just have to either make the father die earlier, or have him be older when they met. Timeline stuff asides, are there any other problems? (/-3-)/ * * *
Hestia is a virgin goddess sworn to not have children or marry, therefore, I can't accept your character. Sorry. I know gods have been made from a part of another god, but I don't think a demigod can be made from the soul of a human.
I'd like to say that most gods are unrestricted as long as there is a feas. Asible reason for how your character came into being. Also they HAVE to be a demigod, half god, half human.
In terms of how many characters. As many as you want, but I'd stick to at most 3 characters. As long as you can manage all of them.
Ask @Shadowcatcher, I'm leaning against it, but her opinion is necessary also. The only thing similar to what's being described is when Hercules's soul was split into mortal and immortal, but that is different than this in a variety of ways.
I was under the impression that the Oath was long one of Virginity, seeing as Athena, Hestia and Artemis all took the same oath, and Athena has a lot of kids. And on demigods, Athena makes hers out of pilfered human thoughts, so I think pieces of a soul should do it :3
In any case, if it's still unfeasible, I'll get to working on another character.
