It's still open, he did say he is still accepting a few more. So I say save your spot before he says it is closed.

Alrighty, so I think I got something. The idea originally went 'what if there was a Shokan who was also a Ninja?', but then I'll admit it got a bit out of hand as I tossed in elements of Kano and Stryker. Anyway, let me know if anything's out of place, which it may very well be:

Name: Jacob "Jack" Lockwood

Homeworld: Earthrealm

Character theme: Facefisted by Dethklok

Appearance:
Jack's a heavily tattooed man standing at about 6 feet 6 and built like a powerlifter, with disheveled neck-length black hair and a sizeable and equally messy beard. He’s perpetually clad in heavy black boots, worn out blue jeans, a stained white wifebeater, black fingerless gloves and a black leather vest with only a single patch, a white bull's skull on the back. Jack's tattoos are a pair of full sleeves depicting chaotic scenes of bloody kombat, men and creatures of all shapes and sizes engaged in a brutal free for all. Essentially, a stereotypical manly biker carried over into Mortal Kombat.

Fighting Style:
A brawler and pit fighter who eschews fancy martial arts and their flowery moves in favor of a simplistic but brutally effective approach to kombat bred from countless fights against a large number and variety of opponents. Some boxing, some wrestling, a few kicks, a lot of dirty fighting, Jack's approach to battle is plodding and methodical: keep motions simple and effective, relentlessly dog the opponent, cut off his angles of escape, force him to overcommit, create a quick opening (even a heavyweight's jab remains fast) and finish it as quickly as possible with a devastating attack generated with maximum power.

Special Abilities:
-Iron Skin: Jack dislikes weapons and has no access to sorcery or any kind of chi powers, but he has trained his body to mindnumbing extremes, allowing him to withstand considerable amounts of trauma of all kinds even when compared to other kombatants and their supernatural endurance.

-Freakish strength: As befit his massive physique and power-based fighting style, Jack is rather strong even when compared to other kombatants. He's able to throw massive opponents around like ragdolls and pit his muscle against things such as Ermac's telekinesis or the dark sorceries of those from other realms.

Fatalities:
-Victory Touchdown: When the opponent isn't even fighting back anymore, you're free to have some fun and that's exactly what Jack does. Taking a few steps back, he runs at his opponent full tilt, punting them high into the air before jumping up towards them, grabbing hold of their head and smashing it down as they crash into the floor, reducing it to a pulp.

-Accordion Man: With the opponent dazed, Jack places his hand on top of their head before pushing downwards with all his strength, crushing them into a vaguely man-shaped wobbly meat sack that can be readily compressed or expanded much like an accordion or other similar instruments, hence the name.

Personality:
Jack is nuts. He enjoys violence and conflict to an insane degree and smashing things to bits seems to be his main solution to any problem, often turning him into the aggressor as he prefers to escalate things when others are more than ready to back down or run away. Despite these less than admirable personality traits he's not such a terrible guy if you don't start crap with him, and he can be quite a cool guy to hang around with and have some beers n whatnot. Jack also loves his freedom and rather despises any who would lord over others, be them their superiors or not.

Backstory:
Earthrealm needed heroes, and Jack is certainly not one of those. Born to a deserting soldier and a gypsy witch for a mother, he never really felt like he fit in the world. Growing up in foster care was tough and he had to fight for everything, to get food, clothes, a place to sleep in, everything. Thing is, he doesn't see this as a sob story. He enjoyed it, and feels it was this kind of life that made him the strong man he is today. Dropping out of high school, he made money through mixed martial arts competitions first, then underground pit fights, enough to buy himself a motorcycle with which he could cruise around freely.

His life became a string of riding around practically at random, at times totalling the bike on stupid accidents, and making ends meet by fighting in underground kombat rings or beating up scumbags and taking their dough. It was everything Jack ever wanted, but after a while he started to feel bored. Things were becoming routine, much too samey. It was at this point that Outworld's armies broke through the realms. Jack had no idea what was happening, but found the situation new and refreshing, and threw himself into the fight with reckless abandon. It was his savage rampaging that drew the forces of Earthrealm towards this most unstable warrior.

Jack did not care for any organized resistance, or old stories about ages old conquerors and primordial magics, but selling the tournament to him wasn't tough. Go to a new world, fight new things, maybe pummel the invader's face in. Sure. He could do that.

Motivation:
Though his disposition is hardly heroic, the fact of the matter is that them Outworld pricks chose to invade his home and make a mess, so he's gonna do the same right back. That and this tournament thingy promises to be a hell of a good time. Go to places you haven't seen, beat the tar out of all kinds of weird things. Good stuff man.

Personally, I prefer that we have been given the ability to create our own characters for this RP. I think most people find it easier to interpret and play their own creations, even at the expense of some more official characters. So kudos to Zeus and props to you all!

@Penultimate_Pi This I agree with.
I like Sonya and could possibly use her, but the reason I don't want to is because... It would feel awkward for me?
Like, I mained her in every MK she was present in. I know her character well enough in all versions. But somewhere I feel I'd botch her aspects. Like, I know her moves like the back of my had. (Dear god, my MK comboes in MK9 and MK X when I'm focused.)

Same. I've raped so much ass with Ermac I should be in Jail. I've used him since his inception.

This is the part where I admit that I'm actually quite bad at MK. And Fighting games in general. I just can't pull off those flashy juggly combos to save my life. This limits me to trying to psyche out the AI by spamming Cyrax's teleport (this is in MK9), and I still always lose a few Ladder matches. On Easy. Guess it helps that I've never played online or else I'd get consistently humiliated. :P

@HHShetland Sonya is one of the best characters for fundamentals who are for aggressive and defensive players.

After hours of practice I am proudly mediocre at Mortal Kombat.

I just can't pull off very many precision moves to create combos while under pressure. It all comes with practice, I'm certain, but I don't play it enough to warrant excessive practice, really.

I'll take your word for it since I'm largely ignorant about these sorts of things. :V

I'll admit that I've never been a huge fan of Sonya, though for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with gameplay. Her kiss-poison-dust attack has always bothered me, especially. I mean, she's supposed to be a no-nonsense SpecOps officer, so why the kissing dust? I understand that when she debuted it was back before female characters in fighting games were commonplace so it sort of made sense that, as the token woman, she was given a stereotypically 'feminine' attack (plus, it was a different time), but nowadays it just seems weird to me. It'd work a lot better on, say, Mileena.

That being said, I think her appearance in MKX is a massive improvement from the looks of things, since she actually uses military hardware this time (I don't even know if she still has the kiss-dust attack in that game). That, and her costume is significantly better.

She does not use the kiss of death in the new one, she has a lot of juggle and counter attacks, as well as just maneuverability to wreck shit.

But then you go online and see everyone using goro and jumping the entire fight to them just windmill spinning and I go "Why do I even try to be legit?"

That sounds pretty good.

But now I feel awkward because Goro is one of my favourite characters (again, based more on taste than gameplay experience). I'm one of those people who was pissed that he wasn't playable in MK9; I mean, I know he and the other bosses would have been way overpowered in online play, but they could have at least made them playable in arcade, maybe remove their super armour to make it more challenging or something.

When I found out he was DLC in MKX, at first I rejoiced, but then I foresaw the exact situation you speak of because I just know that a lot of those people only preordered the game/shelled out more money as a way of showing off the fact that they did so, in a display of classic Online Gaming One-Upmanship. The same logic that drives some people in Team Fortress 2 to pay over a thousand genuine, real-life, honest-to-your-God-of-choice dollars for a virtual flaming Kabuto (yes, really). Which is a shame.

@ActRaiserTheReturnedMore like....

"Counter High " as Sonya.
Dive kick, leg grab, punch, military stance + 0, = Overhead kartwheel slam. = 27% damage.
"Ooh. He is using Combos. Fuck you lilchris1006!" Up down, Goro Dragoon Jump. Lands, repeats to get hit by a dive kick to counter.
"He is still being legit!?" Goro rotation.

Also, I hate TF2 because everyone on there is super dickish, like everyone is pissy about everything when you're just trying to have fun, it also has one of the worst fandoms ever.

IDK what the crap servers you've been to because TF2 is the casualest shit, it's why I have so much fun with it, I only ever go into games to fuck around. If you run into a pubstomper who thinks he's hot shit because he's being a tryhard outside of his designated area, it happens, but TF2 is about as casual fun as it gets nowadays.

I'm sorry to hear that your experiences with some TF2 players have left a negative impression, and I say that because I've dabbled in that particular area (Incidentally, I like the game, but I couldn't get it to run properly on my old 'computer'; that's not the point, anyway) and from what I've seen, they've been no worse than any other Fandom I've seen.

Long story short, from my experience, all Fandoms have terrible people in them, but they also have a lot of nice people. But almost without exception, the nice or at least ordinary ones get overshadowed by the crazies, the elitists, and the general wankers, and I find that regrettable. Therefore, for the sake of egalitarianism (and convenience), I just group 'Rabid Fans' under one banner, regardless of their origin.

Though I don't know why I'm saying all of this, considering that I seem to subconsciously avoid getting too 'involved' with Fandoms. :P

To this day, no character will ever be as broken and unfair as MKT Noob Saibot. One wrong step and you fell to his Shadow Ball endless infinite juggle.
