Im getting dinner right now, should be home in a little bit. I will most likely be able to finish my post before I go to sleep, but other than answering ooc posts, that most likely will be it for me for the night. My time once I get home is dedicated to the hubby for the most part.

@IcePezzWell, when he needs to hide stuff, he does have his tapestry. Other than that, I said he was good at all of them, not excellent at any of them. He knows enough about each to be able to defend himself and not be found but, other than that, his knowledge on all of them are kinda limited. He never leaves a fight without a scratch.

Adding in handle length only adds about a half a foot(15 cm) for a short sword/dagger. Or a foot(30 cm) for two-handed swords. Unless it's like a claymore or larger, than you might get 2 feet of hilt in addition the length of the blade.

@RokkuHoshi it still stands however, that if you were to actually visualize him, as you wrote, it doesn't make sense. And that's my biggest problem right now. He is, without a doubt, not a believable character. Despite being a master of nothing, he is still everything, and he's holding so much crap. He's 5'2" and I weigh more than him ... I just don't see it.

Okay, another worldbuilding note so that people don't mistake Giray as a nation of religious fanatics:

Giray is multireligious; it's just that the Mamluks and Slave-Bureaucrats aren't permitted to worship any God before they turn 18, during which they are permitted to worship whoever they want. The reason for that rule is that assuming that afterlives work just as in D&D, the Girayids believe that slaves who die attempting to escape won't have somewhere to go to in death.

Note that even if afterlives work differently in Waldenshore, the Girayids can still have this belief; they would just be wrong.

Hmm, about Ioannes' personality, how about this?

Stockholm Syndrome is encouraged in the Giray Slave System, and said Syndrome can be encouraged by acts of kindness on part of the captors. Therefore, Ioannes values kindness because he's latched on any kind acts shown to him during his time as a slave, and later on wants to be kind himself, because that's how he's been treated, even if it has been just to get his allegiance.
