Keio calmly finished getting dressed on this important day. The duelist took a look at his desk and the deck that lay upon it. Some may call it procrastinating but Keio took the liberty of buying a couple of new packs last night. He figured that if this tournament was to show a new pack then he should learn to use these new cards. He did spent more time than necessary but he had to perfect the balance if he was going to have a chance at winning this competition. Xavier left a good deal ago and he figured that the others were playing just as hard. That analogy did put Keio in last place. "It's time to get moving." He stated as a reminder to himself as he grabbed his duel disk and deck and left the academy.
"So I can assume you're not afraid of the Night?" the mysterious Duelist asked as the blade on his Duel Disk formed. "Well, you should be. As the challenger, you can take the first turn."
"Light, darkness, good, evil. Truely, if you think about it, it all leads to nothing but a void. But enough of that. I draw." Joshua said, looking at his hand."First off, I'll activate the Spell card Void Vanishment."
All around them, ice began forming and a chill krept into the air. "Now, I discard one card from my hand to add any Void Spell or Trap card to my hand. So I'll discard this to add the Spell Void Expansion to my hand, which I'll now activate."
This time, a ball of darkness appeared between Joshua and the man before expanding and encompassing them both. At first, nothing could be seen until pale, ethereal fire surrounded both duelist as well, lighting the darkness up just enough for both Duelist to see. "I set three card face-down and call it a turn." Joshua said. "So, dark enough for you?"
"Draw," the Duelist said calmly, drawing a card from his deck.
"Alright then. Trap card open. Void Purification." Joshua said, revealing one of his face-downs." With this card, I add the Piaty that's in my graveyard to my hand. Not a problem for you is it?"
"No, not one bit," the Duelist said. "I'll start by playing my Field Spell: Cover of the Night." The Duelist's half of the field was still dark, but his field was then noted to have a dirt path that he was on, and plenty of trees on either side of the path. On top of that, there was a full moon, which barely did anything to light up the field.
"I'll also place three cards face down and end my turn," the Duelist said.
"Draw." Joshua said before looking at his hand the the field. The face-downs were likely to be a problem. He could easily get rid of them but he needed to focus on other things for now. "I activate the Trap card Void Launch. This card allows me to send two Infernoid Monster from my deck to the grave.
"By discarding Saboteur of the Night while I control Cover of the Night, I can negate the activation of a Trap card and destroy it," the Duelist interjected. After he placed the card in the Graveyard slot, a hole opened up underneath the Trap card, and a hand reached up to pull it down. Then the hole closed itself, leaving no trace.
"Hhhmm. If I had to guess, you're a fan of hand traps." He said. "Let's see... I think I'll activate Void Expansion then to summon an Infernoid Token to my side of the field. Got a monster for that or should I fear your face-downs instead?"
"Go right ahead," the Duelist said.
"How kind of you." Joshua said as the flames behind him lept up onto his side of the field, leaving behind a multi-colored canister-like object. Joshua glanced at the face-downs on his opponent's field before deciding what to do. "I use Void Vanishment's effect. By discarding Piaty, I add another Void Launch to my hand."
Joshua's disk ejected the Trap Card which he predeeded to add to his hand. "I then banish Piaty from my grave to Special Summon Infernoid Pirmais in Defense Mode."
On his side of the field, a monster best described as a small mechanical gargoyle with a white-colored canister on it's back appeared on his field.
Infernoid Pirmais - Level 1 ATK: 0 DEF: 0
"Now I use Pirmais' effect to send one of your face-downs to the deck. I target the center one. Also, as an added bonus, you cannot activate it in response."
The Duelist picked up his card, then placed it in his deck, and the auto-shuffling feature activated.
After taking a few seconds to think, Joshua looked at his opponent. "Turn end."
"Draw," the Duelist said, drawing a card. "Hmm... I didn't think it would happen so soon. Perhaps you might still surprise me, though."
"That doesn't sound good for me. Imma guess you drew an ace card." Joshua said
"Oh, no, nothing of the sort. A useful card in this situation, sure, but not an ace card," the Duelist responded. "First, I activate the effect of my Saboteur. If he is in the Graveyard, I can Special Summon him to my field in Attack Position."
"I think not. I activate Pirmais' other effect. By sacrificing my Infernoid Token, I can banish one card from your grave. So I'll banish your Saboteur before you get the chance to summon it." Joshua said as Pirmais let out a mechnical scream before pouncing on the token and devouring it.
"Counter Trap: The Nightwatch," the Duelist said, raising a face-down card. "If you activate a Spell, Trap, or Monster effect while Cover of the Night is face up on the field, I can negate it and destroy it."
"Ah shit. Think I'm seeing a theme though." Joshua said
"I'd be surprised if you didn't," the Duelist responded. "Now then, come on out, Saboteur of the Night." A demon appeared, wearing dark clothing and smiling evilly.
Saboteur of the Night - Level 4, ATK 800, B
"In addition, since a monster was Special Summoned, I can Special Summon Stowaway of the Night from my hand in Attack Position," the Duelist continued, a smaller demon jumping off the back of Saboteur.
Stowaway of the Night - Level 4, ATK 1000, A
"Finally, I Normal Summon Hunter of the Night in Attack Position," the Duelist said, a figure covered in leather clothing and wielding a bow appearing on the field.
Hunter of the Night - Level 4, ATK 1800, A
"Using my Level 4 'A' Hunter of the Night and my Level 4 'B' Saboteur of the Night, I construct the Phase Shift Network!" the Duelist declared, the two monsters flying into the purple galaxy that had appeared abovehead. "None shall see you. None shall hear you. Except when it is too late. All will be your prey. Awaken, Alucard, Master of the Night!" The Duelist chanted, yet nothing seemed to appear.
"Damn vampires, it would seem. If that's why you wear a hood by chance?" Joshua said. Despite his words, he sounded far from amused.
"I also activate a Trap card: Nightmare Archfiends," the Duelist said. "By Tributing my Stowaway, I can Special Summon three Nightmare Archfiend tokens to your side of the field in Attack Position."
"Oh dear god, not this shit again." Joshua muttered, being reminded of his game against Megumi.
After the three flaming demons appeared, the Duelist said, "In Phase A, Alucard can attack all monsters my opponent controls once each. In addition, their ATK and DEF become zero and their effects are negated. With that done, it is time to feast!" Upon those words, a colony of bats suddenly appeared from the trees, swarming all around Joshua's monsters.
Joshua - 4000 LP --> 1000 LP
"And now the Archfiends go off. Fucking great." Joshua muttered.
Joshua - 1000 LP --> 0 LP
"Damnit... damnit, damnit, damnit." Joshua muttered, the ethereal flames around him growing despite the dueling having official ended.
As the field lit up again, the Duelist went over to Joshua. "Before you go, allow me to tell you who to look out for."
"You don't have to. A deal is sadly a deal." Joshua said.
"I insist. Plus, I never said I couldn't tell you anything if you lost," the Duelist said, smiling for the first time.
"Cause apparently your psychic can predict the bloody future. Tell me, was I always going to lose that badly?" Joshua said
"Pretty much," the Duelist said. "If you hadn't picked my useless center face-down, I wouldn't have won. It's pretty much standard to always place something useless in the center."
"Geez, thanks." Joshua said sarcasticly.
"I'm getting ahead of myself here," the Duelist said. "Back to the topic on hand, watch out for Yuna Tashima. She is dangerous."
"So, should I tell the others who will no doubt not believe me since I aint their friend?" Joshua asked. "Cause I wasn't the only one to see this shit early. I'm just the only one that can see past a false tournament."
"Tell the others or not, it's up to you," the Duelist said. "Perhaps you could succeed where I failed. Nevertheless, I wish you good luck." With that, he began to walk away into the elevator.
"You know I'm not going to leave this alone. I've seen trouble before and I refuse to stand-by and do nothing. I will duel you as many times as it takes to get what I need to know to act accordingly." Joshua said, looking at his deck. "So even though I said I would leave, I think I'll stay here. But, I will not ask questions until I have been given permission to."
"That, unfortunately, no longer falls under my jurisdiction, but Mr. Baubles' instead, and he's not exactly in the best mood right now, if today was anything to go by," the Duelist said.
"Well, guess I'm gonna have a tussle with the security around here then." Joshua muttered to himself.
With a sigh, the Duelist stopped and turned back to face Joshua. "Now, now, let us be civil. You made an agreement as a Duelist. What reason would you have to break such an agreement?" the Duelist asked.
"A clear conscious." Joshua said, the flames around him dying down. "I know the tournament is likely just a front for something bigger. And if there's someway I can help people avoid getting hurt, I would prefer that, but as it stands, apparently, I'm not strong enough. Same damn scenario as always."
"Believe me, I know the feeling," the Duelist said. "The feeling of being powerless. Even now, I'm still not sure if what I'm doing now will help. Know this, though: you are not powerless. You have potential to be something great. And admittedly, you are right about the tournament merely being a front for something bigger. I'm using it to lure out Yuna from the other participants, as well as my comrades, who I am also searching for. Then, once the finalists appear, I come in and put an end to the threat, or at least, I'll try."
Joshua listened, anger boiling up in him as he listened to this man talk. "That makes no sense. All this trouble for one girl. If it's the girl that I saw using those Azure Flame monsters, I fail to see what the issue is. She's an ordinary girl, unless the deck she's using somehow isn't. To me, it sounds like you're the ones looking to cause trouble right now," He said, keeping himself from shouting at the man, though just barely.
"I will admit, there hasn't been any unexplained cases of comas or whatnot, but you haven't seen her do that to her best friend... and many others, like I have," the Duelist said. "Just when my comrades and I were about to catch her, she... did something. I'm not sure what, but before I knew it, I was here. In a world I didn't belong. It's another reason why I'm searching for her. I just want to go back home. Back to my own world. And I'm sure my comrades out there do too, wherever they are."
"Your home must be a lovely place then." Joshua said before one of the cards in his deck began glowing. It floated up into the air before the monster on the picture came out of the card and landed on Joshua's left shoulder. "The hell you been Pirmais? Thought you were never gonna show up."
"What in..." the Duelist murmured as he watched Joshua and his... thing. "Is that... the monster you Summoned earlier?"
"Huh? You can actually see him? And here people thought I was insane." Joshua said as the mechnical demon let out a screech. "This is my partner, Infernoid Pirmais. Like most people where I'm from, I have a Duel Spirit. And this little fellow took me away from my home, but hey, least he took me to a peaceful place. No frickin Duel Wars here."
"Duel... Wars?" The Duelist asked, confused.
"Ah yes. I should probably mention that, like you, I ain't exactly native to this dimension. I come from one where there's constant fighting between certain factions. Examples include the Gem-Knights, Gustos, Allies of Justice, Worms, Fables, Naturia, Ritual Beast, Tellarknights, Shaddolls. Really the list goes on. I was a member of the Infernoid faction until... well, let's just say I ran away."
"I see," the Duelist said hesitantly. "Well, I must say, your story is rather excellent, and in any other situation, I'd love to chat about it. However, we should return to the matter at hand. As per our agreement, you will leave. Without complaint. If you wish, though, I will see what I can do to persuade Mr. Baubles about sending you some aid. After he's calmed down, of course."
Joshua thought it over and nodded. "Alright. There is only one duelist I'm concerned about in the tournament right now. She's young, can't be older then ten. If she gets wrapped up in all of this, she'll need a stronger deck. I can't think of a better person to ask for the cards I think will fit more then the man who owns this company." Joshua said
"And the deck archetype?" the Duelist asked.
"I only know those from my dimension and those I've seen here. Yang Zings would be a good fit I think. She might be a rising star and the Yang Zings are also known as the Cosmic Dragons. Plus she's a Synchro user, so I think it might be a perfect fit." Joshua said.
"I see," the Duelist said. "I'll ask him about it. In return, you leave and don't come back." The Duelist then raised his hand for a handshake to seal the deal.
"Deal, but you'll need a name and a picture, sadly I only have a bit of the former. So I need to see her picture so you can find her." Joshua said, shaking the man's hand.
"Unfortunately, I am forbidden from leaving this building, as per an earlier agreement with Mr. Baubles. However, she can easily come here. I'll see to it that she gets what was agreed upon," the Duelist explained.
"I'll bring her here if I come across her again. Shouldn't be too hard right? Pirmais, you willing to help?" Joshua said. The duel spirit screeched in response before vanishing from sight.
"Very good," the Duelist said, pushing the button to call the elevator, which opened almost immediately. "After you," the Duelist said, holding the door open.
"Sure... hey, I didnt catch your name. You have one?" Joshua said
"I don't really like giving out my name," the Duelist said. "However, you can simply call me Sam. Nothing special about the name or anything. I just like it."
"Less awesome then I thought,, but I can't complain." Joshua said as he got in the elevator and leaned against the opposite wall, facing 'Sam'. "Take care. I'll be in touch."
The trip down to the lobby was a short one, and upon its destination, Sam nodded as Joshua got out. The doors closed again, hiding Sam from view as the elevator rose up.
"Time to begin hunting. Ready Primais?" Joshua said before exiting the building, his duel spirit flying off once he was outside.
Moros made his way into the shop. Cecile had been right, adding cards to his deck did make it more fun. Which, of course, was why he was here: to buy some more cards and see if he could make any more fun additions. After all, Summon Limit had proved to be very helpful in his last duel, and he could see its usefulness in upcoming duels as well. Maybe after he got some cards, he could discuss strategy with her. Still wincing at the prices, Moros grabbed the cheapest looking pack he could find and went up to the counter to purchase it. It'd be worth it if he won the tournament because of it, right?
That last duel was pretty draining for Daemon. He got just a smidge too riled up, and screaming at the top of his lungs for Berserk Dragon might not have been the wisest move either.... Well, it didn't really affect his shuffling through the streets much anyway. Although the movements were slow and sluggish, the boy made sure to take the shortest route to his destination. What was said destination? Why, the card store of course! It took a few minutes, but finally Daemon reached the door! The magnificent building stood before him, it's sliding doors opening to reveal...! ...Moros. Standing in the doorway. This... Wasn't good. Daemon hadn't actually met the boy before, but heard about them. Supposedly they had an even higher winrate than Yuji, and some unresolved sexual tension with Adrien's sister... Or was it resolved by now? Hell if he knew. The skeletal disk on Moros' arm stood out immediately, showing just how much more... Fancy it was, at least when compared to Daemon's simple dye job. Okay. That's it.
"You, me, Duel. Now." That was literally the first thing Daemon had said to the other boy, whom had just gotten done buying cards. Daemon reached for Moros' collar and attempted to pull him out of the doorway, then take a few steps back to get in the ready position. He wasn't going to waste time with this one.
Moros turned at the sound of someone seemingly talking to him just in time to have his collar grabbed, and subsquently be yanked out of the card shop. "H-hey!" Moros cried out in surprise as he was pulled out. As he processed what just happened he realized he didn't really have any objections to a duel, it was simply unexpected. Moros took a few steps back and his disk folded out, the red skull eyes gleaming almost angrily. "Well alright then." Moros said, still somewhat unsure of himself. Who was this guy again?
Turn 1: Moros Daemon 4000 LP: 5 Cards in hand Moros 4000 LP: 5 Cards in hand
Well his first turn would be simple as it always was. "I'll just set one monster, one card, and leave it to you." He said as he wondered how this duel would turn out. This guy seemed kind of angry for some reason.
Turn 2: Daemon Daemon 4000 LP: 6 Cards in hand Moros 4000 LP: 3 Cards in hand, 1 set monster, 1 set spell/trap
"My turn. I'll draw," Daemon casually picked up his card from the top of the deck, then scanned his hand. "Alright, First off. I discard my Archfiend Emperor, the First Lord of Terror and my Phantom Dragon to Special Summon, from my hand, D/D/D Dragon King Pendragon." He ditched two cards and then showed the third to his opponent, namely Pendragon, before slamming it down on the field. A few seconds ticked by without anything appearing. Then, from behind Moros a shadow suddenly rose up accompanied by an ear-shredding roar. Behind the Skull Servant duelist had materialized a dragon whose black scales were covered by various sharp, metal guards as well as their horns being protected by it. It flew over to Daemon's field in Attack position.
D/D/D Dragon King Pendragon 2600 ATK 2400 DEF Level 7 DARK Dragon
Moros waited patiently for a few seconds surprised when nothing immediately appeared on the field, only to turn at the terrifying roar from behind to him. The monster summoned was quite impressive, standing at a 2600 attack and no doubt an effect to match.
Moros' opponent gained a smug smirk, revealing "A Wild Monster Appeared!" from his hand. "I'm not done. I can discard this card right here," and Daemon followed suit "to activate Pendragon's effect. Not only does he gain 500 ATK, it also destroys your Spell or Trap card!" Pendragon's claws, covered in a metal gauntlet, extended. It's mouth curled up into a twisted smile, which is odd since the maw wasn't supposed to bend that way, and it dashed for the card in order to smash it to bits.
D/D/D Dragon King Pendragon ATK 2600 > 3100
Moros watched his Chain Destruction shatter into pieces rather dissapointed, well that plan was ruined. Oh well, as long as his opponent couldn't Summon monsters like that very fast, he should be fine.
"Battle phase," Daemon declared. "Pendragon, rip his monster to shreds!" The aforementioned dragon was still on Moros's field, and didn't even bother using its arms. Instead it raised one of it's feet, then stomped right down on the set card.
A brief image of a turtle wearing a pyramid appeared before it shattered as well and moved to the graveyard. "Now, since Pyramid Turtle was destroyed by battle, I can use its effect to Summon Wightprince from my deck to the field," Moros explained as a puny looking skeleton appeared in defense mode, cowering behind his pet dog
Wightprince: 0 DEF
"Tck..." Daemon had preferred no monster be on the field by the end of this, but not like there was any choice at this point. "Fine. I'll set a card and pass things off to you." One card slid into the socket and it signaled the start of Moros' turn.
Well this was workable. The question was if he should set his other monster, he needed wightprince to be destroyed and then to summon his king, but if his opponent destroyed his monster with an effect or summoned another monster Moros' own LP would be left wide open. Better safe than sorry, yet if he did that he'd have no way of getting a king out. Hmmm. "Fine, I'll set one card and end my turn." Moros said, sighing as he did so. Hopefully this worked out.
"My turn, Draw!" Damn it, why was this guy so passive? The monster he revealed pretty much confirmed what the deck was, but even then it shouldn't be this held back... Well, Daemon'd need to be careful. One wrong step and death could be knock-knock knocking on the door... "I'll start my turn by using the Spell card, Ante! We both reveal one card from our hand, and depending on the lowest level one of us discards it and takes one thousand damage." Daemon picked one card from his hand and held it out in front of him, back turned.
Ugh, he couldn't afford to lose his two of his three cards so this was an instant loss. Reluctantly he selected and revealed a spell card, Book of Life.
"This makes my job easier." Daemon turned his own, revealing Beast King Barbaros. A level 8. "You lose the Ante, and lose your card!"
Moros inserted his card to the grave and winced as he lost a fourth of his LP
Moros 4000 -> 3000
"Now, due to my Beast King Barbaros' effect I can Normal summon him." The Chimera rose from the ground, but seemed exhausted by something. "Now, normally his attack would become 1900 since I didn't Tribute a card, but... I don't feel like using that. Reverse card open! Two-Way Mirror!" A Trap card flipped up, depicting a face framed in shadow staring at a mirror, with a red line resembling a grin in the reflection. "A change in a monster's attack when it's summoned is negated for only 300 LP, and then the controller draws a card. Lucky me, it was my own!" The boy's voice didn't sound nearly as excited as it should, aggressively drawing the next card from the deck.
"Battle Phase." Daemon raised his free hand and aimed forward. "I'll attack your Wightprince with my Pendragon!" Pendragon launched forward, using its wings to gain momentum and snipe the set card.
Moros watched passively as his monster was utterly annihilated by the dragon's vicious attack and was sent to the Grave. "Of course when Wightprince is sent to the Graveyard he takes two more monsters, a Lady and a Skull Servant, with him." Moros explained as the little dog ran into the deck, bit down on the two cards, then ran into the Graveyard to his master.
"But we're not done, remember? I still have a monster." Daemon nudged towards his Barbaros, now standing tall with 3000 ATK. "Attack him directly!" The chimera rushed forwards, spear first and tried to rush at Moros.
Moros grinned, and this was where he turned things around. "I'll activate my Trap card: Mirror Force." he announced dramatically as the classic card intercepted the blow and turned it back wiping the field of both Daemon's monsters.
Daemon looked... Actually, shocked. He looked pretty damn shocked. Seeing his monsters get blown up like that, especially when he was about to end the duel right there... Damn it! He got too cocky... "A-Argh... G-Good job. I'll end my turn."
Turn 5: Moros Daemon 3700 LP: 1 Card in hand Moros 3000 LP: 4 Cards in hand
That had been close. If he hadn't happened to have a good set card the duel would've been over right there. Moros drew his next card and viewed his hand somewhat nervously. With all those big monsters, that deck was dangerous. "Alright, my turn to go the offensive," Moros said excitedly as the eyes of his disk gleamed with excitement. "I'll play the Spell card: One for One, allowing me to discard one monster in order to Summon a Level 1 monster from my deck. I'll discard a Skull Servant in order to summon my King of Skull Servants to the field!" Moros declared as a card shot out of his deck directly to the field. His majestic skeleton appeared standing on the many bones of his followers.
King of Skull Servants - 4000 ATK
"And since your field is wide open, I'll attack directly with Vengeful Hail!" A simple motion from his king and thousands of bones flew into the air before cascading down in a vicious hail of CALCIUM upon Daemon.
"I beg to differ! I activate my Swordsman of Revealing Light's effect! When you declare a direct attack, I can special summon him in Defense mode!" Three blades surrounded the King, before gathering onto Daemon's field as a knight in green armor rose to the field.
Moros punched the air in frustration, so close! Oh well, Daemon had no card left and he'd need a pretty good draw to get past his King. "Very well then, destroy his Swordsman instead." The hail of bone shards changed direction, homing in on the swordsman like they were life-seeking.
The swordsman shattered and the various sharp-edged particles flew past Daemon. He had to raise his arms to fend off against the shrapnel, but at least his Life Points were safe...
On the other hand if Daemon did get past his monster somehow he would be helpless, as his only card left wouldn't do any good, how very exciting. "Alright, guess that makes it your turn, soon as I set one more card." Moros said calmly, perhaps bluffing would help make sure he could make it until next turn.
Turn 6: Daemon Daemon 3700 LP: 1 Card in hand Moros 3000 LP: 1 Cards in hand, 1 monster, 1 S/T
Daemon whistled as he drew his card, knowing full well that things weren't looking too good for him right now. This had to help, though. "I'll activate One Day of Peace! We both draw and take no damage until my next turn." Daemon picked up his next card, looked at it for a few seconds... And set it into the S/T zone. "End."
Moros resisted a grimace of frustration, argh, he didn't want to give his opponent any more time to react, but with day of peace already played there was nothing he could do. However with his drawn card he got security in more ways then one. "I'll set one monster and end my turn."
Turn 8: Daemon Daemon 3700 LP: 1 Cards in hand, 1 S/T Moros 3000 LP: 3 Cards in hand, 1 monster, 1 set monster, 1 S/T
"My turn, Draw!" ...Oh man. This draw was godly. That set card was more of a bluff... And it paid off! "When you have a monster of 2000 or higher attack, I can special summon Schwarzchild Limit Dragon from my hand!" A purple dragon slithered like a snake on the field, and soon after a spell card was flipped from its face-down position. "I activate my Riryoku as well! I halve the attack of your King, and add it to my Dragon!" Skull King... Didn't react at all. Since it was both a DARK monster and, well, kind of dead, the dark orb pulled from its chest didn't seem to phase it at all. How disappointing.
Swarechild Limit Dragon 2000 > 4000 ATK 0 DEF Level 8 DARK Dragon King of Skull Servants: 4000 ATK -> 2000 ATK
"Now, Limit Dragon! Battle Phase! Attack his King!" The Dragon... Also didn't know what to do. It wasn't used to being used as attack fodder... So it kinda slithered up to the king and tried to poke it with its tail. "...Why is everything being so anticlimactic?!"
Moros 3000 LP -> 1000 LP
His skeleton merely stood still as the tail pierced its chest and it vanished from the field. "You should know Zombies never stay in the grave for long, when King of Skull Servants is destroyed by battle, I can banish one skull servant from the graveyard to summon him back to the field." His monster reappeared instantly, albeit the pile of bones he was standing on was slightly diminished.
"...Heh, yeah I knew. I hadn't really gotten a way to win anyway. Turn end." Daemon smiled sadly. He'd accepted his loss by this point, and was waiting for Moros to end it.
Turn 9: Moros Daemon 3700 LP: 1 Cards in hand, 1 S/T Moros 3000 LP: 4 Cards in hand, 1 monster, 1 set monster, 1 S/T
Moros glanced at Daemon perplexed. He didn't seem like he was having fun, but if he wasn't having fun... then why was he dueling? "Draw." he said somewhat halfheartedly as he watched his opponents defeated expression. With the cards he had he could win this easily, yet... Argh, too many decisions. Moros wasn't a fan of losing but there wasn't any point in playing if it wasn't fun for both people. As long as Daemon didn't catch onto the fact that he was faking it then he'd be good. But if he did then Daemon would think that he was just taking pity on him and get upset. Finally there was the point that he really, really, really, wanted to win the tournament and get a cool card. Argh, "I normal summon a second King of Skull Servants to the field. Battle Phase, end this duel." Moros said reluctantly. The robed monarchs glanced at each other, nodded, and simultaneously sent blasts of dark energy spiraling forward. The evil lights glowing the eyes of his disk faded as the duel ended.
Daemon 3700 LP -> 1700 LP -> 0 LP
Daemon clicked his Duel Disk back into the standby position and sighed. The hell was he thinking? Moros was basically the ace of the school right now, no way in hell was he going to beat them. The boy didn't even bother turning to face the other, simply making his way into the card shop without muttering a word.
Moros tried to think of something to say as Daemon walked past him, but he couldn't think of anything. So he stood there as soundless as his challenger and watched Daemon walk past. Argh, he should've just let him win. Deciding that they both needed a cheer me up Moros took out the two candy bars he had in his pockets that he had been saving for lunch. He stepped in after Daemon determined to make him feel better and make up for the duel. Moros stepped in front of Daemon and steadfastedly said, "Hey, that was a fun duel, here's a reward, no hard feelings right?" He asked holding one hand out for a shake and the other with the proffered candy bar.
"Wha-?" The younger of the two was slightly surprised, the offering of candy wasn't something you see every day. Especially after a duel you've lost... "...Thanks for the offer?" It was actually a tad confusing. But Daemon had no reason to refuse... Hell, he actually felt a bit more cheered up after that. Maybe the boy had just needed to vent some anger. "...Yeah, thanks. Sorry for being so uh... Aggressive. I get a little touchy at times. I'm Daemon, by the way..." the green eyed boy reached out his hand to shake Moros', then used the one where the Duel Disk is attached to to take the offer of candy.
