As far as I know that would be correct and explains it plainly.
@Scarifar After losing both OLs they go into overshift, a state when one of their effects repeats. After that Overshift turn finishes, they are banished.

I think that right there was what lost me. What I said in my summary of their characteristics, though, explains it a bit better. Imo, at least.
<Snipped quote by Scarifar>
Not quite. When it loses its overlays, it's still in the game. The overshift happens when you try to detach something that isn't there.
Edit: Well, more specifically, when you try to activate an effect without the overlays. A phase shift monster can have its effect as long as it has overlays, but the moment those are used up the effect is negated and they retain the attack and defense of the last phase. Once you can activate one of their effects, gain the appropriate phase, and at the end of the turn you did that it is banished.

This explplanation here helped me make sense of Phase Shift monsters, though the part where effects are negated after the overlays are gone makes me think: if you are meant to detach the second willingly, then what is the point of doing so if the effects just get negated? The whole Overshifting part didn't make sense after that, so I opt to ignore the effect negation and merely stick with Phase Shift monsters just getting banished at the end phase. Does that sound good to you guys?
Honestly I think it would be more cool to send them back to the extra deck then remove them.
Edit: I was under the impression that over phase meant that since the monster does not have an overlay to give up once using its second phases ability then it switched back to its first phase with no effect until it left the field during the end phase.
So it's settled, then. To rule out confusion, we're simply going to use my version of how they work.
Phase Shift Over-shift: This is one of the weaknesses of Phase Shift Monsters. When a Phase Shift Monster uses all of its Phase Overlays it can use Over shift. Before I explain over shift, I will explain that when a Phase Shift monster has used all of it's overlays it can't use any of it's effects and it's atk and def will remain at the last phase it was in before it used up its Phase Overlays. Over shift will allow you to choose which phase you want your Phase Shift Monster to change into. When you do this you are able to use that phase effect during that turn. If you do this, the monster is removed from play, at the end of the turn the effect was used. When a phase shift monster is destroyed by battle or card effect (other than cards that remove a monster from play) it is sent to the graveyard like other monsters.
@Joshua Tamashii technically since Cecile is with her we could have a tag duel as well if anyone is interested Just saying :P
Daemon and Moros can duel you guys. Low and High level decks combine!
That
sounds like a disaster waiting to happen
...I love it.
