In a kingdom near the mountains, far away from any building, the weather is cold, and a shadow passes briefly. The subjects look up, terrified, and they see it. An ice drake, descending from the clouds, and they yell. They run into their houses. The king sends his best archers and warriors after the beast. They fire catapults, arrows, bolas, everything they have. But they have not harmed him...only angered him. The dragon slowly lands on the top of the castle and roars loudly, his misplaces his wing and the roof of the tower starts collapsing, he flies away, down to the charging men, and breathes ice at them, and his breath floods the kingdom, covering the streets and houses.
[meanwhile in the castle]
The king is worried, for his kingdom is being destroyed by a powerful beast, one they could not defeat. His soldiers are dead. His subjects are dead. And soon so will he be, along with the few survivors inside the castle. A worker of his runs into the throne room, not looking very disturbed at the sight at the window, of the dragon down the village, freezing everything with one long exhale
"Sir, listen to what the dragon is saying as he roars."
"What ?"
"Listen."
The dragon then, after freezing the kingdom and killing almost everyone, roars loudly, and a word is heard in his roar. " Thieves."
"Thieves'"the worker tells the king "Someone stole something from him, from his treasures. A dragon's ire is more fierce than fire, sire."
"But it's too late now, Jonathan, the dragon must be killed."
"I read a document about him, that's Fornost the White, he could only be defeated by a large arrow, one of pure materials"
"Very well, go forge one, now ! We haven't time to waste !"
The worker nods and runs out of the throne room, and returns after several minutes with something large in his hand. An arrow. Similar to a spear, a very large one, made of silver, pure silver
"Sire, we only could find enough _pure_ silver to make one arrow."
"Then we shall not miss. Prepare the ballista !"
Jonathan runs out to a guard and repeats the order. The dragon has been advancing towards the castle now, and another tower was destroyed, with one wall frozen. The guards put the arrow in the ballista, aim, then fire. The dragon turns, too late. It flies, he tries to fly away, but it pierces his wing. He roars in pain and anger, and falls on the castle, destroying it. After a few days, with no survivors whatsoever, he rises again, and flies painfully back to his lair in the mountain.
[several years later]
Fornost's wing has healed, the arrow has left a large scar in there. The beast grabs his treasures and flies away, to the third highest mountain in the lands--the Fifth mountain of Garad--to stay there forever.

History :
[I'll do this in the form of RP]
Serpentus, otherwise known as The Snake, has been greatly feared by men for ages, for they feared snakes. They feared his children. They feared his magic. Many have went to fight him, but failed. He never harmed the good men, as a matter of fact. Serpentus never actually cared about men and their ways...not until they started slaughtering his children. They killed them in great numbers and hung them on trees, on rocks, in bushes, on old abandoned villages. They hung them on temples, and covered the lands with them. He finally decided to retaliate. But he was too late. They have already left these lands. They have traveled over the seas and oceans to their own lands, where serpents were not heard of. With the guide of nature magicians, Serpentus took the form of a sea hydra, known as Gallius, and track them through the sea. He attacked their ships if he found any, and after several months, he finally found them. On the land, he took the form of a giant serpent of many heads known as Tellus. He towered over their tallest towers and forts. As Tellus, he destroyed man of their most powerful armies and kingdoms, until some magicians, very powerful ones, tried to put an end to him. Seventy were sent, each ten took care of a head. They finally defeated Tellus, and Serpentus retreated, after killing each one of them.
Many years after his defeat, Serpentus rose again. He had been preparing for this battle for fifteen years. He marched forward with an army of snakes and serpents, and with his magic destroyed villages, then towns, then cities, then whole kingdoms. Nature magicians, those who sided with him since the beginning, had built him a temple. They were known as the Vermis. They took him as their god. They worshiped him while he fought, and used spells to grant him and his army more power. After finally defeating all men known, leaving very few alive, he and his army returned to his main temple, his largest one. It was a temple deep in the forest, known as the Serpent's Temple. Some magicians, other powerful ones, had built him a statue of a snake. They went to his temple and put it on an altar, pretending to also be his worshipers. When he returned, they, and their minions, fought him, along with the Vermis, and the serpents of the temple. Serpentus was defeated, and imprisoned within the chamber. The Vermis were also imprisoned with him, and the serpents of the temple turned to stone. The magicians were tired, and tried to drink from the water of the temple, only to find them selves turned into horrible serpents, nine horrible serpents, who also turned to stone on the stairs of the temple, shaped like an arch upon the stairs, covered in vines and moss. The temple is now lost deep in the forest, it's way unknown to men, Elves, and other races, even nature spirits. Serpents go there to worship their lord, but to most it's not easily seen.
Resurgemus populus meus. Consequamur ultionem et regat. Infra dicturi sumus, quod poeniteat et fecerim ! he whispers in his temple. He might be partly dormant, but he watches. And he waits.
[the Mythorian Serpent]
The Mythorian Serpent is a great serpent known to be Serpentus's holy pet. He's a giant hydra, as a matter of fact, the father of all hydras (but Gallius and Tellus).
