Heyyyy,

New to the forum, but not new to roleplaying-- though it's been a little while since I tried my hand at it.

I favour the first person perspective, or as some say, the easiest perspective.

I like action roleplays, military types, sci-fi, medieval. Anything where the adrenaline is pumping and the body count is mounting.

I'm going to take a gander through your interest checks (i like the site's layout, very easy to navigate!), see what I can find that might match my tastes.

Be seeing you!

Not many that use the first person. We've tried it a time or two and found it interesting to write from.

We'come to the guild, though.

We suppose our current RP might not quite be the thing for you, but you never know. Its an RP where people may turn into bodies, but the conflict is less focused on physical combat and more on interaction. A Star Wars RP with one group being prisoners of another, with a third group trying to rescue the first.

Welcome :)

Unfortunately, with first person, you are in a rather small miniority here. You should be able to get along alright, though.

Really? It's never been a problem before, as my character's perspective can usually be pretty much whatever I want it to be. Or are things different here? Do we all have to write in the same style or something?

In any case, if it's a problem, I'll crack out third person... but I suck with it. I always forget sensory details in third person for some reason, like I'm just narrating a bunch of facts and never really engage with the environment I'm trying to create.

There's no such thing as a rule on which Angle of View to use for PoV.

Some (sad types of) people can't handle others posting in first person, but most should be able to handle it fine. In our opinion, its best to write in the way that works for you. If that's first person, second person or third person doesn't really matter to us. Its the quality of the end product that matters.

The only time you'll end up with headaches is if its a collaborative post and two (or more) persons use first person view in their segments. This we can say from personal experience.

Oh good! I thought as much, but you had me worried there for a moment.

Yeah, I'd never mix perspectives in a collab, that's be stupid. In those cases, I usually defer to my partner's preference, and if they like their third person, then I just roll with it.

EDIT: Oups, I misread what you said. Well, two people can do it, but we'd usually split the character's segments up with "***" between them, although this usually leads to just a series of stacked posts. Where as with third person, yeah you're right, there's much more freedom and less complications.
