One of my favourite things so far has been some how of the ambient chatter hints towards a larger universe. Militia using the term 'metahuman' while another tells him to quit it because 'they're just freaks'; thugs saying they'd rather occupy Gotham than Keystone because 'at least they can see Batman coming', whereas Flash would be a red streak and a bruise. Coupled with the sheer size of the map you're allowed to play around in it really does a good job of making you feel like this is your city, but you belong to a larger, cohesive whole.

Plus you get to drive the freaking batmobile how fucking cool is that!?

@Morden Man, what character do you have in mind? I declared this full because it started to look crowded, but it looks like Weird Tales has lost interest, so there might be room for one more.

I hadn't quite keyed in on a single character as of this minute. I've been reading the OOC thread and through the IC thread to get a feel of the game and mulling over some possible choices. First and foremost I'd quite like to play someone that allowed for a lot of interaction so I mulled over picking up a Bat-villain like Two-Face for a while but given the large number of Bat characters already I didn't want to crowd one section of the game's universe too much. Maybe someone like Booster Gold? Given that this game has a Blue Beetle.

Like I said though, my mind hasn't been completely made up but I imagine I'll have chosen and written/submitted a CS within a day or so, I guess I've just been trying to get a feel of whether there's any character the game actively needs, especially with "The Light" thing on the horizon. It feels odd not having some of the more marque characters PCed.

Fair enough. Choose whoever you like. While I'd love to have the entire Justice League roster PC'ed, it isn't necessary for the game. Booster Gold would be awesome, as would any other character you bring to the table, I'm sure.

This is why I love the Arkham games in general. Rocksteady did a fantastic job of building the world around you. When you play the games, you don't feel like a guy mashing buttons on a controller. You feel like Batman.

I love how most of the Batfamily have a major organization of Assassins as a Rogue.

Batman has the League of Assassins/Shadows
Nightwing has the Court of Owls
And Red Robin has the Council of Spiders.

The Court of Owls is easily one of the best things to come out of the New 52, along with Harper Row imo. What do you guys think? I miss the Order of Saint Dumas, which could totally be Jason's rogue organization if Hillan so chose. The Green Lantern arc has been awesome, of course. Multiverity was cool, particularly Overmen and Thunderworld.

Yeah, I agree. The Court of Owls storyline was the first thing I read out of the New 52, and it got me wanting to broaden my horizons in terms of the DCnU's titles. I also really enjoyed Jeff Lemire's run on Green Arrow, and Brian Buccelato's on the Flash. The more recent Deathstroke series was pretty enjoyable, too.
