[IC] We Are the Crystal Gems

As the Red eye got closer, it's gravity field ripped shingles and loose boards from people's houses and lifted vehicles off the ground including Johnny's van.

Spinel could feel the gravitational field pulling her in. It was clear her how dire the situation was. "So then, any ideas, Aquamarine?" it felt a bit strange not using her monikers for once, but the situation seemed to call for it.

By some sort of miracle, Evenkite's fit eventually came to an end, though she'd occasionally take it a shaky breath followed by a few weak giggles. Wiping the tears from her eye, -yes, her laughter had gone that far- she looked up towards the sky. And if it weren't for the fact that everyone else seemed to notice it as well, she'd have been fully convinced that she had simply lost it. A small nervous laugh escaped her as she said this, but she quickly suppressed it.

"That's...I don't know what that is, Amber, but there's no way that's a good omen, is it?"
Though she was too small to really feel any real pull yet, the lifting of Johnny's vehicle was enough of an answer. Evenkite winced as if in pain, her expression no longer reflecting and mind now off whatever she found so hysterical and now focused on the dire situation.

"Yes, ideas would be great right now. Anyone?" Her voice was strained with panic. "Could we...There's something we can do, right? Right!?"

Think, Eve. Think. For the love of the sky, think.

Aquamarine felt the shift in the gravitation, things now floating into the air slightly and building having pieces ripped off as the Red Eye moved in closer. She turned to Johnny, knowing that this was no where for him to be and the town nearby would need someone to try to evacuate them or more people would be harmed.
"Johnny, this place isn't safe. I need you to try and convince the people of this town to evacuate as fast as possible. They are all in danger! Please hurry!" Aqua spoke to him, panic and worry clear in her tone as well as strict determination to keep as many people protected. She waited till he left before turning back to the other gems, trying to think of what to do. They were too new to know fusion and even a fusion might not be powerful enough since usually Rose's light cannon was the only way. It was the only chance she had though.

"There is one thing that might work but the chance is very slim and I highly doubt it will work. One of you could try to fuse with me, make ourselves into one strong being. I might be able to hold one of you together with me just long enough to get a shot in before we unstably defuse. Untrained, it might not even happen and we could just end up dancing with nothing happening."

Spinel make a conscious effort to quickly wrap her head around what Aquamarine was saying. "Very well then, if you think that's the best option, you should do it as quickly as possible. Do you have anyone in mind?" She said quickly. She may not have been an expert strategist yet, but planning in a situation like this was her first instinct.

Howlite was about to answer Spinel When She looked up and froze, "wha-what is that?" She said her smile wavering as she watched the giant eye desend on their position. If you looked in howlite's direction you would swear to see a shadow creep it's way over her face as she became more and more scared as the eye got closer. The Handle of her axe creaked as her grip tightened and her breath came in short fast burst, "How is this gonna work, how are we going to fight that?!?" The words spilled out of her mouth filled with fear. She ran towards the tallest gem and hid behind his leg practically latching onto it as she felt the gravity field lift her a few inches off the ground. Her axe was planted into the ground by the rising truck but it too began to float up a few meters in the air. When she heard them talking about a plan to beat the eye she felt a ray of hope but that was dashed when she heard something about fusing and ducked down lower not wanting to get in the way.

Emerald stopped the light, and turned towards Aquamarine. Something in his gut didn't feel right fusing....he knew he wasn't complete. The Kindergarten had activated him before he was finished, due to the presence of so many strangers. "You should choose who to fuse with, you are the expert. Just...don't pick me. In any case, we should all ready our weapons, staring won't do anything to avoid us being killed! Maybe if the one with an actual ranged weapon fired it a bunch, it might do something....oh, I don't know! This is insane!" He said, turning to the smaller Gem for the last bit. He then turned back towards the Red Eye and realized he was being pulled towards it. He dug his feet in but kept getting pulled forward. He was just so light without being covered in stone, and this thing was so huge and so close now! "Aaaahh! What the heck? How big is this thing?" He realized he had to do something to save himself before he could think of a way to save the group. A small handle emerged from his Gem as he looked down towards it, and he pulled out a green saber. Now wasn't the time for gasping or admiring the weapon, he needed to stop getting sucked away! He slammed the blade down into the sand and held on, the rest of his body flapping in the gravitational vortex.

Zircon looked up at the giant stalking eyeball from above, her expression changing from a smiling having-a-good-time face to a straight game face. She felt the changing tug in the gravity before looking around her at the floating objects in the air, even the van. Zircon's expression remained serious and almost calm at the sudden situation that just popped before them just like that. It was clear that this deadly red thing in the sky had to get rid of and taken down. Alright, that's one thing down we know. Now how. Zircon was all ears when Aquamarine said that something called fusion could work. Now the only question is who could Aquamarine fuse with. She then hears Emerald say some stuff and she finally speaks, " Emerald's right. Not to make any random guesses, but by fusion you mean like..combining with someone right? And that goes for weapons too? If so it should be someone with a weapon that can shoot far. Especially if it'll make it stronger. Obviously we can't afford for it to come any closer, so I mean it only makes sense." Zircon finally got to sort of pitch in a little smart idea, something she's been wanting to do for awhile just to help. Hopefully she didn't make herself look stupid or anything. Not that it's likely to happen, but still.

Sodalite looked up into the air to see the large Redeye in the air. She gasped, but said nothing. Even she didn't think that she was a good option for fusing with Aquamarine. She had her shield, shovel... things, and she was unable to remember what Aquamarine was able to summon. Any sort of combination of their personalities and weapons wouldn't work in the situation that they were in. She didn't know how strong that thing was, or what it was capable of. She decided to keep quiet, and tried to think of a way to help with the giant eye monster thing.

Okay, now Evenkite was definitely feeling the pull. And it wasn't good.

With a small shriek at the realisation that she was no longer on the ground, she grasp desperately something, anything, and found herself barely able to hang onto a branch of a nearby tree. Whatever relief she might've felt was killed off by the creaking sound and bending of the branch, which she was certain couldn't hold up much longer. And so, without taking the time to let any space exist between her words, she let out a distressed cry.

"OkaygreatnowCOULDANYONEJUSTDOSOMETHINGALREADY!?"

If she had been worried before, she was terrified now.

The Red Eye had started getting dangerously close, ripping roofs and parts of walls away. Then, it suddenly stopped, it's large eye staring at the group of gems, scanning over all of them.

Aquamarine thought about what weapons she had seen from the other so far, trying to ignore the panic before looking to Spinel. She was the only one that had shown a far shot weapon and she could only hope it came across in any fusion they came up with. She really didn't want to do this or force so much pressure on a gem this young since fusion took a lot of energy and practice. It could be hard for even experienced gems but Aqua just had to hold them together with her extreme need to protect the town as well as those around her.
"Clear gem, your the only one here I can fuse with that will give the best possible outcome for long range attacks. I need you to remember the emotion you felt as you drew your weapon and you have to completely give your trust in me as I must do with you or this won't even begin to work. Now, I am going to lead you in a dance. This time it won't feel much like your own but I think it is the only way we can sync. Do you trust me?" she asked gently and held out her hand to the young gem.

Spinel gave Aquamarine's words some serious thought. Did she trust her? About as much as she had ever trusted anyone, which admittedly wasn't saying much. What had caused her weapon to materialize? She thought as hard as she could back to the first moments of her existence. She remembered how comfortable, how natural sitting there in absolute silence with nobody else around felt. She couldn't imagine feeling more at home, but that wasn't what brought out her weapon. She thought about the spiders, about her new companions being attacked while she hid. What went through her head at the exact moment she drew her weapon? I can't just let them die.

Spinel understood the gravity of the situation. She was aware that she had no idea what she was doing, but she was confident that, out of anyone there, she was the most capable of forgetting herself. In some situations that might be useless or worse, but it was what the situation called for now, because it would make it easy for her to let Aquamarine take control and do her job. Spinel knew what to do. She couldn't just let them die. She gave Aquamarine her hand.

Aquamarine took the others hand softly, her own gem lighting up as she readied for fusion with the other gem. She stepped forward, one hand in hers and her free hand moving to the others back and leading Spinel into a light spin before moving into simple waltz like dance. After a few steps, she moved her into a few complicated twirls before dipping the other and making sure to hold her close. She felt the shift, body starting to turn into light and believed in Spinel to start feeling the same shift as their light came together where they would both chose their new combined form. I will protect them... was her last thought, her feelings rising as she tried to keep calm and not think of the situation above them.

Spinel followed along, doing her best to keep in step with Aquamarine. She did her best to clear her mind. You can do this. Telling herself that seemed obligatory, maybe even cliche, but she thought it was a good starting point. Control yourself. Feel as little as possible and control yourself, so that you can give that control over to Aquamarine. Something occurred to her. Be nothing. Be nobody. That isn't always a bad thing. As soon as that went through her mind, her body became light.

Bloodstone sat in front of a scanner that showed the data of the height and weight of the surrounding beings as well as weapons in the area. "What, did one bring a whole arsenal? Now it will be harder to figure out what weapons they used." There was also a screen that showed temperature scans so he could see body type and what movements they made, "Are those two... fusing? They think that can beat a red eye, Ha."

The lights swirled, an outline slowly forming before the new being popped into life and now one solid form. Eyes opened slowly, the world now in a new perspective and yet completely the same all at the same time. She looked at her hands but a moment, all four of them sliding forward to be in view of her multiple eyes which were slightly widened in surprise before her hands slowly curled into fists. Kyanite's gaze softened and she calmly turned them upward, looking at the floating eye that was causing such grief to those around her before her eyes all narrowed slightly in determination. "We'll keep everyone safe. Please stand back...", her voice rang out smooth and soft as she stepped forward, both gems glowing brightly. One hand slipped into the gem on her right elbow, pulling out a large crossbow as the other hand slipped into her chest gem, pulling out an arrow completely made of ice with the sculpted tip of Aquamarine's harpoon. Kyanite's front two arms held the crossbow steady, aimed right for the Red Eye while her other free arms loaded up the weapon.

The arrow started to build power, a burst of light jetting the projectile ice towards the Red Eye which barely caused even a dent upon impact and only spreading a bit of ice .Again... they thought as Kyanite's hand opened, ice twisting and forming carefully into a new arrow before being loaded once more. Everything she had focused in on keeping steady, building up power so they could land a better hit. The second arrow shot out with great force, landing once more but to no avail on causing damage. Aquamarine's concern started nagging at Kyanite, quickly pushing to make another arrow as she strove to keep the humans safe from the threat of Home World. We can do this...Keep calm...Panic is not the key. Focus...We will protect them this time....., she thought to herself. Another arrow now locked into the crossbow, her eyes focused as she really put everything into this arrow, her compassion, her concern and the fear of the past as well as the future before she let the arrow fly. What is ..., Kyanite barely had time to think as her form started to slip, her body slipping into light and shaking violently as Aquamarine and Spinel were tossed apart from one another, their fusion finally unstable enough to break.

[Kronshi]

As the Ice Arrow crashed against the eye, the thermal scanner in the ship went offline, "Welp, that sucks. An easily fixed injury but the Red Eye is useless for now. I'll have to call it back... But first." Bloodstone flipped a switch and the Red Eye could be seen charging an energy pulse of some kind then he hit a button to unleash the charged force. A huge laser shot out from the eye landing close to where the gems where located causing massive damage, destroying parts of the town, and the force blasting the gems, Johnny, and his van in the direction opposite of the impact. "Hopefully that did some damage to those rebellious new gems. Now to bring the Red Eye back to base." The Red Eye slowly made it's way back into the sky, still staring at the gems. As the gravitational pull ended, bits and pieces of the town crashed down causing even more damage to it.

"Two of them fused. Maybe one of these gems aren't so 'new', a survivor of the Great War maybe?"

Emerald stared up towards the giant eyeball....and then the laser blasted him backwards, sending him tumbling through the air......into a very large rock. That was the last thing he remembered. Or, more accurately, Oh crap. The green Gem bounced off the rock and landed in the sand in front of it, before Emerald poofed and his Gem landed on the thankfully soft beach. Luckily, his Gem wasn't on his back, or he would probably be dead.
