I know of a few pitch-shift 'cover's of SU songs that definately make it sound like men are singing rather than women. Same with @Akayaofthemoon, Jailbreak was my first actual episode watched fully. I have a few friends who have watched the show before, so I knew a little beforehand, but I could have just as easily considered Ruby a man before finding out that they had no genders.

I could also easily believe that Jasper is the Gem-version of Mulan.

lol Naw, I see pearl as a girl and yes Rose an Pearl have a thing. Not sure how deep the thing was on Rose's side but they do XD They don't seem to think to ask me about that relationship. Most people like to just jump me and saying things like "You only see them that way because they are together!" and I'm like "No, I am not like that. I believe you can't help who you love. You just love them for who they are even if you don't want too sometimes."

I can feel you on that one, the whole jumping thing. I don't know how many times this has happened:

Someone: So who are your OTPs in the show?

Me: "I don't ship anyone in the show-"

People: "OMG IT'S BECAUSE YOU'RE HETEROSEXUAL HOMOPHOBIC YOU MALE WHITE CIS PIECE OF TRASH!!!"

Me: Um... 1) I'm asexual, not heterosexual, 2) I'm not homophobic, in fact I'm part of the gay-straight alliance at my school, and I'm not even straight or gay and they seem to ignore the fact that people who are asexual exist (I'm not the only asexual there so I speak on all our behalfs on this one), 3) Not male, was born with woman parts but not sure how to feel about it, 4) I'm middle eastern, not white and not Arab either, since y'all seem to assume all middle eastern are, 5) I don't even know how genders work anymore m8 6) That last part is true but meh and 7) The reason I don't ship anyone in the show is because I simply do not understand why shipping is a thing, why people make such a big deal out of it, or how romance works at all, so...? and 8) I don't see how being heterosexual, male, white, or cis makes you automatic trash or immediately invalidates your opinion, but that's just me?

@HaltingBlooper XD M8 if I knew. If I knew. I don't even know why it's a thing people insist on trying to get real people to do, but meh. I have brOTPs because I'm trash so maybe I shouldn't talk since it's basically the same thing but on a platonic level rather than a romantic or sexual one. :P

I'm cool with people shipping, do what makes you happy and all, even if I don't understand it, but don't jump on my face when I say I myself don't or try to force your ships into my face and make me support them, or expect me to accept a non-canon ship as canon.

@HaltingBlooperGah, I'm like this far much more than I would ever care to admit.

I like pairing up characters, especially crazy pairings that could never happen normally. I love it because it challenges me to take what the original creator thought up, and find my own way to string the characters together. It doesn't even need to be romantic pairings, friendship, familial figures and so fourth, it's all a big lovely puzzle to me.

On a second, funnier note, I can't stop imagining Jasper as a reverse Mulan, and Peridot is her Mushu

I like shipping but for some reason, most of the pairs I want to happen do end up happening romantic or otherwise I. The actual show soooo not sure if they even count as shipping when that happens XD

@Akayaofthemoon The only ships I'm not cool with are ones that are ridiculously impossible, ones that break canon, or ones that I don't view as morally right (three big ones being incest, pedophilia, and abusive relationships). Everything else I'm just apathetic to because I still don't understand shipping. XD

@Loony,@HaltingBlooper, those are called crack-pairings, my friends, and i love then too see just how good the writer is. i have my own crazy pairings not in SU thank the pantheon, bur i use them jusy to see how well i can convince myself that it could work.

@pyroman Me and a fellow ace who has no idea how shipping works make some pretty weird joke pairings for the lulz. The top one has to be Lor Starcutter X Halberd from Kirby. Squidward X Pickle is a close second though.

It's a ship between two literal ships owned by two people who used to have a friendship.



If you can genuinely find a way for this to work, Pyro, then I take back my statement about not disliking impossible ships. They will join the apathetic club. XD
