Once upon a time, during the deep winter in the realm of Asgard, a place was filled with wonder and magic. It was called the Moors, an ancient land that held the lives of the most wonderful of creatures. As the snow fell, there lived such a life who was as beautiful as a flower and graceful as a bird's wing. That life was Silena, and she was adored throughout the kingdom of Asgard. Her beauty became treasured to the realm and she was just as passionate as any being. She was admiring the falling snow one day until she saw a rose blooming in defiance of the cold. Reaching for it, she pricked her finger and three drops of blood fell. And because the red that seemed so alive against the white, she thought, if only I had a child as white as the snow, lips as red as the blood, hair as black as night, and all of the strength of a rose, she would have someone like her godfather, Loki.

A raven flew through the kingdom and out into a valley until it landed on a tree and cawed.

Her godfather, Loki, king of the Moors and the son of a fairy, was the last of her family until she was eventually married.

A man was sitting in the tree with huge wings. Wearing his black tunic, his short raven black hair blew in the wind as he was writing his signature on a piece of paper that he had. He makes his mark before rolling it and giving to the raven that sat next to him. He watched it take the paper and it flew off.

Loki looked after his god-daughter for years and he never left her out of his sight.

The raven flew through the kingdom until it went through an open window and landed on a small perch that Silena made him. It cawed to get Silena's attention.

A young blonde woman sat in her study which was practically a small library if you wanted to be simply descriptive. Sitting on the ledge of the inside of the window where she can see the Moors. A home she could always go to. With a caw heard, she came out of her thoughts to look over to see a raven on the special perch she made. Smiling wide, she bookmarked her place in the book before she set it down and went over to him. "Diaval!" She was always excited to see Diaval. Him visiting was always an exciting thing. Not just because of him bringing letters, but just him presence made her think of the Moors and their friendship. "Picking up a cup, she poured some water into it. "I'm sure you might be thirsty." She then took the letter, opening it as she went on the ledge to read it.

Diaval kneeled down and drank from the cup she gave him as she opened the paper where Loki wrote her a note.

Dearest Silena,

I hope you are having a good time with your husband as well as keeping your kingdom in shape. I am, as usual, sitting about on my home tree writing letters. Even my flights over the forest always made me think of my mother. My mother still lies in her resting place while I still visit and give her my prayers about you. She couldn't be any prouder of me. If only she was alive, she would love to see you in person, but I always mention you to her. You'll always have my heart as well as my soul and you'll always be my true love along with my mother. I'm always watching you and I know that you are seeing me in the shadows. I give you my greatest prayers.

Yours Truly,
Loki

Silena read the letter with smiles as she read the letter from Loki. Looking to Diaval who was drinking the water, she stood from her favorite ledge and walked over to the raven. "I wonder if I should tell Loki." Sitting at the desk of which the perch was next to, Silena took a piece of paper, beginning to write on it, replying to Loki's letter.

Hello Godfather,

I am very happy that your mother is very proud of you for I am as well. I think she and I would be wonderful friends. I am flatter deeply that you speak of me to her for I would do the same about you. From here the Moors look as splended as ever and always amazes me for being up close as I have, I never forgotten what it looks like as well as the fae folk that live there.

I have wonderful news for you and had no idea when to tell you about it. I thought about telling you in person but its eating me up with excitement that I cannot bare it anymore. I am with child. It is Balder's child of course but he and I are very excited and now that I think about it, I wish for a get together sometime. It has been some time since we both had a get together. When do think we could see each other again like last winter?

Sincerely,
Silena

Smiling at her work on paper, Silena had left her mark before rolling it up. "You ready for one more flight, Diaval? Hope Loki hasn't been working you too hard. Hope you have a family of your own." She used two fingers to pet his back softly. She set the letter aside and sat on the her chair. She waited patiently, knowing he must have a long flight from the Moors to Asgard. "I hope he like the news I have for him in this letter."

Diaval continues to drink the water until he watched Silena write another to her godfather. He was curious of what they were talking about but he knew better than to snoop around in their business. Seeing her finish, he caws before taking the rolled up paper and flies out the window. He flew through the kingdom until he made it to the valley that showed the Moors up ahead. Cawing to Loki who sat upon the Hometree, he landed next to him and the winged fae took the letter from his servant. Carefully unrolling the paper, he read the letter:

Hello Godfather,

I am very happy that your mother is very proud of you for I am as well. I think she and I would be wonderful friends. I am flatter deeply that you speak of me to her for I would do the same about you. From here the Moors look as splended as ever and always amazes me for being up close as I have, I never forgotten what it looks like as well as the fae folk that live there.

Silena

Making a grin at her first response, his reaction changed into surprise as he read that she was with child. Placing a hand over his mouth and with tears of joy falling from his eyes, he made a chuckle of happiness to himself. Without wasting time, he reached for another sheet of paper and began writing. Diaval made a caw of curiosity as Loki made his mark and rolled up the paper, passing it to his servant. Diaval made a caw of happiness as he took the paper and flew off. Flying through the kingdom once more, he flew through the window and landed on his perch once again. Making a caw to Silena before drinking from the cup of water.

Watching that Diaval had left Silena watched as her friend had flown away off to the Moors. Smiling, she walked to the ledge before sitting down and reading her book.

With time That passed, the young blonde queen had still been reading her book. She had read a good chunk of the book by now when she heard Diaval. Looking up from her book, she looked Surprised to see him again. "Diaval?" She noticed.the letter and Sighed with a smile. "i see now. He must have taken the news well." She picked up the letter and sat down at her desk, reading what he wrote.

Diaval cawed in agreement as he watched the queen take the rolled up paper and read it:

Dearest Silena,

My heart tells me that having a new child are one of my greatest blessings to you. If you desire the daughter that you wished on the day that you pricked your finger on the rose bush, you shall have that wish. I will give you that wish if that is what your heart desires. I hope that the delivery of her will become a success and that we both can cherish her together along with Balder.

As far as we can get together, your wish will be granted. This coming spring would be a rational choice for us. I will hope to see the child that you carry and perhaps feel a kick as well as a defiant heart beat. I will be hoping to see you soon, my beloved.

Yours Truly,
Loki

Silena's heart filled with joy as she read his letter. Her smile to a grin and felt the urge to write to him one last time. She felt so excited though. She was going to be able to see her godfather in the spring. "I can't wait till spring!" She felt like the happy young girl again. She set the letter down and looked to Diaval. With a smile, she turned to her desk and wrote on the paper.

Godfather,

I cannot wait to see you in the spring, and I am sure you will feel a kick or two from the little one I carry. I hope this one will come to love you as I have. I hope the rest of your day goes well as always. Let Diaval have a break every once in a while. He deserves it as well as yourself. Love you always, Loki.

Sincerely,
Silena

Putting a her mark on it and rolling it up, she looked to the raven. "I need to go see Balder soon. Take good care alright?" She kissed the top of Diaval's head before handing it to him.

Making a caw in agreement, Diaval took the paper and flew out. Once again, over the valley and to the tree where the fae King sat. Landing on the tree, the fae took the note and unraveled it. He started to read it and he gave a grin. He sighed in happiness as he looked out to the palace in the distance. He just couldn't wait till spring.

Spring had come for both Asgard and Vanaheim. Silena took no delay for this season and went to go her godfather and King of the Moors. However on her way to the Moors by horse, she had heard a cry and went to investigate only to find a startling sight....

On her horse and having her horse cantering into the Moors, she cradled a injured raven in one of her arms, looking around she hoped to find her godfather somewhere. "Hang in there Diaval." Helping herself down from her horse she looked around. "Loki? Loki!" She was of course concerned for her best friend. She had no idea what happened to Diaval but she feared for his health.

Loki wasn't far from Silena's position as he flew above the trees and over arches that were over the waterfalls in the enchanted forest. He landed on the arch until he heard the cry that came from his lovable god-daughter. Turning his head to the direction of her voice, it sounded desperate. Without wasting any time, the fae took flight towards her direction.

As she kept calling to him, he showed himself by landing a few feet from her. "My dear Silena, what has happened?", he asked her as his wings folded behind his back as he stood up her. She was a height that went to his upper chest, so comparing them wasn't all that difficult. His hair was short and slicked back until it was behind his ears as well as stopping at his upper neck.

Seeing Loki land a few feet from her, she felt relieved but not by much. Looking to him, she walked over to her godfather and held Diaval out to him with concern but very carefully. "It's Diaval. I heard him on my way here and had no idea what happened to him and how. Can you help him?" She asked Loki. She hoped that Diaval was alright.

He couldn't lose his wingman, especially one that acted as his wings. Diaval was the one companion he had that would cure his loneliness whenever Silena wasn't around with him in the Moors. Plus, he was the one person who could help him and Silena stay together in contact. Diaval was one of those beings who could keep Silena happy whenever Loki wasn't around. He was proud of Diaval to do that for him. Keeping Silena happy as well as granting her wishes of what she wanted. They would never let her down. Ever. It was just how he promised Maleficent.

Loki looked down at the injured raven form of Diaval. He reached forward and touches one of his wings. He flinched as he felt his wing being touched. "He must have broken his wing during his flight. Don't worry, I will help him", he reassured Silena as he laid a light and gentle hand on the wing and a green energy began to flow through it. "He will heal in time", he said as he put a hand around Silena's shoulders and gently pulled her in until she was leaning against his chest. "You possess rare beauty, my love. Right here", he placed a hand on her chest, indicating her heart. "Never lose it. It will serve you well when you become a mother", he kisses her head through her hair and he laid his head on top of her own.

The next winter was the harshest in Loki's memory as his god-daughter began to give birth to her child on a cold night.

Silena's screams of pain began to sound as Diaval landed on the perch in her room as he watched the queen began to birth. But the screams faded until there was no sound from Silena. He watched as the blanket was placed over her until he felt his break at watching the birth go into failure.

Feeling her relief that Diaval would be alright over time, Silena felt her worries subside. Silena smiled as she felt Loki's hand on her shoulder, leaning in and against his chest, making sure not to squish the poor injured raven who was between them. Hearing his words, and his actions like the hand on his chest as he talked about her rare beauty and to never lose it. Her smile grew and she looked to Loki. "Thank you." She then looked to Diaval to make sure he was okay. "You gave me quite a scare Diaval." She smiled as she held him out to see if he was up for standing.

Diaval hung his head as he saw the scene before him, what had happened, he knew Loki would not take well to this at all. Turning around, Diaval flew off from Asgard toward the Moors.
When he arrived to the Moors, he came before Loki when he found him. For the first time in a long time, he shifted into his human form. He looked saddened and heart broken. "Loki...I have grave news..." Looking from Loki toward the ground to Loki once more after a moment of silence. "The baby didn't make it...neither did Silena...."

Loki was in his black cloak that had gloves on since winter came. He looked to the distance of the palace as he felt the coldness against his skin. He saw the raven in the distance but he also noticed that Diaval didn't have a letter this time. Now he grew a little concerned. Finally facing his servant, he had his neutral face on. "Diaval, I see no letter from my dearest queen", but his face fell when Diaval told him that there was grave news. "What has happened?", he then exhaled sharply as he heard about Silena's miscarraige for the baby. Even worse that the baby didn't make it. He got down from his tree and looked to the palace, feeling himself almost panic while breathing rapidly. "Silena!", he screamed for her as he fell to his knees on the snow-covered ground. Tears started to fall from his eyes as he began to wail and sob in grief and pain. The one woman that he raised and cared for, was now gone. His tears fell on the snow beneath him, and he slumped down until he was sitting down against the tree, continuing to mourn.

Silena was gone. His heart was gone. The one woman who kept him bright, was gone. Back at Asgard, Balder was inconsolable. Taking advantage of his grief, a dark and a mysterious army appeared and lured him into battle. The Dark Army was defeated, but what would soon come to pass was far darker.

After defeating the army, Balder and his men find a single prisoner chained inside a carriage. "Fear not, you will come to no harm from me or my men. What is your name, my lady?", Balder asked the blonde woman who was chained inside. "Ravenna, sire", she responded in a trembling voice.

So enchanted by her beauty was Balder, that he forgot for the first time his broken heart, and the very next day, she would become his wife.

On their wedding night, Balder and Ravenna were their bed together. "When a woman stays young and beautiful, the world is hers", Ravenna said in a seductive voice as she flips them over for her to sitting on his stomach while holding out a dagger. "First I will take your life, my lord. And then I'll take your throne", after she says so, she stabs him in the chest, killing him.

Diaval squawked as he witnesses the death of the king. He flies out the window and to the Moors to warn Loki. The gates of Asgard were opened, allowing her army to enter who were led by her brother, Finn. "Welcome, brother", she said with a wicked smile. "My queen", he bows to her.

She had tricked her way into the kingdom with a phantom army. She now welcomed a very real one.

As Ravenna's army captures the castle, the dark army began to race towards the Moors.

Diaval had seen everything that at the castle of Asgard after the death of Silena and her baby. The funeral, the wedding, and those times he wasn't in Asgard, Diaval was with Loki as best as he could to try and help him through his dark times. He didn't feel the same deep saddened feelings for the loss of their favorite queen but he knew what Loki was going through. For when the funeral came, he picked a budding rose that had yet to fully grow and gave it to Loki. He saw it fit as a reminder of Silena and how she grew with Loki around her. As much as it was a saddening gesture, that was just how Diaval saw it and hoped that Loki wouldn't be so sad, having a feeling that Silena would always be with them. In their hearts.

When of the Death of the King came, Diaval had to warn Loki, feeling something much worse was going to happen. flying as fast as his wings could take him. This wasn't going to fair well at all.

Arriving to the Moors, Diaval flew to Loki and swooped low as he transformed, running as he had done so and called out. "Loki! Loki I have bad news! The King was killed by the woman he married. I saw a huge army, one that has probably already taken Asgard!" He had to catch his breath a moment before he could continue. "I think the Moors maybe next."

Loki held the rose that was in his hand. Not to mention that it was the same rose that Silena pricked her finger on. The rose still had the moisture of dew that was on the red petals. In Silena's memory and to give her a sign, he took off his glove and pricked his own finger on the thorns. His blood residing with hers.

Seeing Diaval land frantically before him, he widened his eyes in fear. Just noticing the dust in the distance before them, he was quick enough to use his green magic to make a wall of thorns but the wall crumbled by black magic. Chains were thrown at him before he tried to fly off. His wings were chained as well. Making a thud on the ground from the air, he painfully groans from the landing. Finn appears before him and Loki was dragged by the chains from his home.

(Sure x3)

Loki had almost forgotten how long he had been in this one cell. Everything had become a blur to him through the days, months, and years. Within the dungeon's of Asgard, Loki felt he could go mad sometimes. Everyday since that unfaithful day, the King of the Moors was forced to spend his days in the wretched cell he was in, tortured, beaten. No armor, or clothes besides his pants. Many of the guards came and beat him painfully, but could do nothing with his hands bound above his head and his wings slumped low, dull and forever shedding. Soon enough within what felt like endless days gone by that they beat him and wings removed, now the only thing that was left of his mother that was with him was gone. Loki never felt so broken, lost and in pain within his years of living. But it still never compared to the loss of his mother and his dearest Silena. The beatings were painful at first, but then they were bearable. Not crying out after the first of many beatings and torture they put him through. He would always wish for it to end. Just want the torture to end for he never understood why they didn't just kill him. But it was men who he could never understand, so Loki never thought about the question ever again.

With never aging, Loki's appearance stayed young and though he got older, age didn't phase him. The only thing that changed was his hair length which grew slight past his shoulders but was a tangled mess. skin was paler than he normally was, his eyes still defiant as he ever was, always looking for a way out of this prison. He would continued to find a way before giving up to this new ruler's desires to break him. Yet however was he to know the queen's intentions for him.

Ravenna stands in front of a giant, circular golden mirror in an agitated motion. "Mirror, mirror, on the wall. Who's fairest of them all?", she asked it slowly before the gold began to melt off the mirror and it formed into a golden hooded figure. "You are the fairest. Yet nothing can overpower your power and beauty", it answered in a deep voice before Ravenna smiled wickedly in anticipation.

So poisonous was the reign of Ravenna that nature turned on itself and people turned on each other. The land died, and with it, hope. In all that time, she kept the king of the Moors imprisoned, high up in the north tower.

Ravenna watches the children outside her castle being thrown scraps of food. "Do you remember when we were children begging for scraps, like those wretches?", she asked her brother as she stood over the railing of the palace. "Yes, sister", he answered her in a trembling voice. "Am I not kinder?", she asked as she approached the bath filled with milk. "Yes", Finn answered as he walks away to give the queen privacy as she takes off her gown and steps into the milk bath. She immerses herself in the milk and then rises with her whole body covered in it.

Later, now looking young and beautiful again, stands in front of the mirror once more. "Mirror, mirror on the wall. Who is fairest of them all?", she once again asked, knowing that it would be her this time. "My queen, on this day, one has come fairer even than you. He is the reason your power wanes", he answers with grim in his voice. "Who is it?", Ravenna asks, impatiently. "Loki. The king of the enchanted Moors. The son of the most powerful fairy, Maleficent", he answers. Ravenna looks at him in surprise. "The fae king? My undoing? I should have executed him when he was captured", she growled at herself before clenching a fist. "Be warned, his innocence and purity is all that can destroy you. But he is also your salvation, your majesty. Take his heart in your hand and you shall never again need to consume youth. You shall never again weaken or age", he explains to her before she grinned in wickedness. "Immortality. Immortality, forever", she said to herself before shouting. "Finn!", he steps out from the shadows in watching his sister. "Brother, bring me the fae", she demanded as Finn walked off to the dungeons.

Loki still stayed in his spot, unable to move from it as he had hung his head, his eyes closed, ignoring the ache in his muscles and bones from the years he had been imprisoned like he was now. The aches and pains came every once in a few months or so but that was just how it was. He had come to take the time to clear his thoughts so he could try and actually get some somewhat decent sleep. It had been hard to sleep in the position he had been in but he had come to meditating as a better solution to getting the decent rest he needed. Though he was meditating, it was interrupted by the faint echoing of the footsteps. After years of being here, he had come to identifying who was who by their footsteps. He knew it was Finn. But he only came so rarely. He wondered what the man wanted from him this time.
