My next post will be without the induction field as I have used it. After that, I will be building it up again to augment and enhance the powers of Skallagrim. Understand that Skallagrim still possesses a great deal of energy without the field.

@SkallagrimHolly fuck! You burned the entire park down! I mean I will be honest when I say that I knew induction field was important, but I had no idea it could do something like that! I mean to cause that much water to instantly boil, in a park that big, is an absolutely insane amount of heat! Well that actually causes several of my plans to literally go up in flames and I'm even going to have to move Scion to keep him alive. Yes, this is way beyond human survival, even supernatural human. That much heat would cook Scion alive in seconds. Especially given he was in the water.

On a different note. A very mild, and mute, problem is that the park sort of doesn't have a dome. It's an outdoor park if the picture didn't describe/show that being the case from its birds eye view. I actually selected that park, because it happens to be one I've actually visited at one point in my life. I guess I thought it would be fun to see it get wreckt while we fought, but I it's toast now. I am not even sure how I am going to begin to respond to this. I'll sleep on it for now, and will hopefully have something for you tomorrow night after work.

Umm, no technically we are in a dome. I used two posts to establish it, one to set the induction field base and a second to set the electrical walls coming from the cloud forming the sides and top of the dome.

1-‘The slow thrum of the Aesr roiled around Skallagrim, rushing away in a vast concentric circle, enveloping the park. This allowed the Dreamer to understand with absolute clarity what was happening in the park.’

2-‘Tapping the dark crystalline shield with his sword, the skeletal being nodded towards Scion, his voice a static filled hissing, “I shall create an energy shield around this park, we shall be alone to settle our matter.”

2(a)-With that the twisted black clouds overhead shimmered for a millisecond and then cascading sheets of lighting descended around the area they stood, creating an interlaced field of electrical energies.’

Also the water is boiling not boiled off completely it will take some time. Small wading pools will go first then the deeper bodies will follow suit over the next couple of posts.

Since I am probably not going to fuel the plasma it will begin to dissipate in my next post. All this occurs in a few seconds, but the fires will remain.

Oh. You are taking about the energy field. I was thinking that a glass dome or something had been added without my notice. I didn't know that also acted as a solid. I'm sorry that I keep overlooking these details. I guess I have a slight issue of misunderstanding some of the wording being used. I am no stranger to reading, but I have a slight tendency to miss the more subtle wording given in writing.

As for the amount of heat. I still think it is pretty dam insane. The reason I thought it all flash boiled was because of the descriptors you used to describe the aftermath of the heat. I thought to form such a thick cloud that made it to where one couldn't see further than three feet in front of them would take a large amount of water from all across the park, especially since it would try to rise and clear itself thanks to the high temperatures. Another thing was the fact all the wood caught fire, and fiber glass slides were melting that had me in a panic. I was thinking of the thermal dynamics and the amount of heat that would need to radiate from those plasma balls over such a large of space, in order to cause this kind of destruction across the entire park. If the heat radiates outward from the balls, then the temperature would be immensely higher than these objects would actually burn and melt at. Unless you meant all this heat was evenly spread out from the beginning. That would take far less energy and be way less deadly.

I will note I have no problem with the aftermath of what he did. I just wanted to put in perspective how powerful that actually could be given the science behind thermal dynamics.

You are correct as to the amount of energy is dissipated across the entire park. Around Skallagrim the heat is greatly intensified because of the plasma. But since you directed immense focused energy I had to "ball it up" so to speak or a greater conflagration would ensue based on my counter.

I see. That is much easier to grasp. Well I did some thinking and I think I know what my next move will be. Just having a hard time putting the words together. I'm unfortunately feeling a bit sick today. So progress will be slow.

Hey just giving you an update so you know what's up. I'm feeling much better today and have about nine and a half hundred words written down for my post so far. I still have some more things to enter, as well as the editing to do, before it is complete. Unfortunately I won't be able to finish it tonight as I am to tired to continue writing, but I will continue it tomorrow and it should be done by then.

OK so. the final total is 2,523 words. Give or take some annotations for color. I guess I was feeling a little inspired to talk about Scion's past after reading that interesting snippet you had included on that race of aliens that had weaponized their voices.

Sometimes you have to be careful when talking about history. Adding in characters, NPCs even, from the past can either be a really good way to cover back story, or it can be looked at by some as bullshitting a history to help deal with something.

This fight has kind of turned into a Naruto/anime style fight now. A few hits here and there, then a half an episode long flashback to related or mildly related backstory.

Usually people have that tendancy when fighting me. I would rather use my sword and martial skills.

@Rilla I had decided to include the bit about Cirno, because I wanted to start the slow process of building a backstory behind how Scion obtained the many different abilities and items he posses. All of his stuff has small explanation as to how they function and were obtained, but he didn't get them all at once. He had to go through many trials to obtain some of these things, and even die on quite a few occasions.

I would like to assure you that all of his abilities/equipment were picked out for this fight before it began, so I'm not pulling anything out of thin air that wasn't already there. As for why the cold aura got a backstory? Well it just seemed fitting for Scion to think of the ice fairy after being nearly burned to death. I had this story in mind since the abilities creation, so it wasn't made up on the spot.

I realize that this does seem to have the DBZ affect, but don't worry. I won't go and shoehorn a backstory for everything Scion has into this RP, but I will gladly hint at or reference past events as I work on building up the other stories. As for now. I am thinking of switching fighting styles again, though I am not sure how to proceed as it seems Skallagrim's weapons have just gotten a buff to them. So, I'm not liking my odds at a close range confrontation, but I won't know if I don't try I guess. Here's to trying the direct approach again! As soon as I get it typed that is. I'm still getting bad headaches ever since yesterday, and it's making it difficult to focus. I think I can get something up today though. It will just be posted later on.

Migraines suck. I know. I am not going anywhere, this is a training spar so take your time. As for the sword, it has been builiding continually through our fight.

OK. I have got something. The shift from quick reactions to strategy is due to Scion calming down. He is able to think more clearly, but now has to try harder to anticipate his opponent instead of relying on instinct and reflexes to make snap decisions for him.

The big change this brings, is that if Skallagrim does something he didn't anticipate, then Scion will have a much harder time countering it. He'll need to rely more on Dennis to counter unexpected moves.
