Anastasia smiled when he agreed to play cards with her. She removed them from the box and started shuffle them. She looked up at Samsul, "You know... You don't need to be so... Proper? If you want... You can relax a little. I don't mind."

She started to deal five cards to them each as Millie and Arabella exited the bath. They curtsied to the two of them, "The washroom is clean. If you need anything just call."

With that the two of them left the room, leaving Samsul and Anastasia alone. Anastasia gathered her five cards and smiled at Samsul, "So, have you ever played 'Go Fish'? I used to play it with my parents... and it is really simple... If you need me to teach you."

Samsul kept his eyes on the cards as Anastasia shuffled them. He nodded at her as he looked at the cards as they were being dealt to him. "I'm trying, Anastasia, but old habits are hard to break when you've been following them your whole life." He accepted the cards and looked at the five of them as he thought about the game that she had recommended to him. With a small sigh, he shook his head and looked at her. He didn't enjoy admitting that he didn't know simple things like games, but he didn't allow himself to learn them when he was younger. "Could you teach me?" He said in defeat. "If it's simple like you say, then it shouldn't take very long for me to understand it."

Anastasia smiled and nodded when he asked for her to teach the game to him. She looked down at her cards and pulled out a pair of twos, "You are trying to get pairs. If you have a pair, put it down. When the game starts, I'll ask you for a card... like a fours. If you have a four, you have to give it to me and I get to ask you again. If you don't, you say 'Go Fish' and I have to pick up a card. If it matches a card of mine, I can put it down and it is your turn."

She pursed her lips trying to figure out if there was anything else that he needed to know. She couldn't come up with anything else and nodded, "I think that is it... Like I said," She laughed a little, "It is really simple."

She grinned at Samsul, "Ready? You can go first, if you want."

Samsul listened carefully to the set rules and did his best to remember them. It seemed like an easy enough game, and he looked at his cards, quickly seeing if he had any pairs off the bat. He nodded at Anastasia and spoke. "Do you have an eight?" He asked simply, moving said card to the top of his hand.

Anastasia shook her head, "Nope. 'Go Fish'."

The two of them played for what seemed like hours. The sun set and the only light in the room came from a candle flickering beside them on a table. She collected Samsul last card and smiled as it was quite clear that this round she had won. She grinned, wonderful something she had a chance at beating Samsul at. She looked out her window and sighed, "I should probably get some sleep. As should you. I would hate for you to be off the ball two days in a row," she teased before standing and grabbing the candle. Sheltering it with her hand, she quickly blew it out before placing it back on the table. In the dark, she looked at Samsul, "Thank you... For spending time with me."

Samsul hadn't realized how much time had actually passed until Anastasia took his last card. He Sighed lightly and bowed his head in defeat with a small smile. He looked around to see that the only thing illuminating the room was a candle, and that Anastasia had it in her hands. He laughed lightly as she teased him and blew out the candle. He nodded at her thanks and smiled kindly at her, keeping his eyes focused on her in the darkness. "Your welcome. I enjoy spending time with you." Slowly, the lost Elf stood up and turned to the door. He slowly walked to the door, but stopped and turned back around once he had reached it. "Good night, Anastasia. I hope you have wonderful dreams." His smile never faded or faltered as he spoke and left the room. He closed it behind him and sighed with sadness. Tomorrow would hold much more stress and emotion then today did, and he only hoped that he could be ready to face Anastasia in the morning.

He slowly walked down the hall, but didn't go to his own wing. Instead, he went to Elana's quarters, where he knew she should be, or just departing. As he neared the door that led to her room, he could see that she was standing at the door. Was she waiting for him? He wasn't sure, but he walked over to her and looked at her sadly. It was obvious that she had been crying recently, but she was forcing back tears at the moment. "Hello Samsul." She choked out. It was hard for her to speak at the moment as she stood there. Neither of them had anything to say to the other, so they simply stood there in comfortable silence for a while until Elana spoke up softly. "Please be there for her. You've been working on your social skills recently, as well as how well you display feelings and instill them in others. I do not think she will take my... Death.. lightly, so you need to be there for her." Without another word. The queen slowly walked through the hall and was met with a small party at the far end of the hall. all of them left Samsul's sight as he went back to his own room to get some sleep.
