@FantasyChic As the whistle slowly died, the sound of moving bodies and heavy murmuring would win over as the camp hustled to find the purpose to the abrupt noise. It seemed like many were clueless as to why the camp had been awoken, but others seem purposeful, rallying the once sleeping soldiers to their arms and helping ready the mounts and equipment. As the bulk of the forces began to amass in the clearing near the woods, those with expert hearing could hear the subtle rustling of something in the trees. Closer and closer the sound would approach as well as seeming to grow to multiple different source. Quill, Erion, and Robert stood amongst the many, the dog in the dancer's arms growing restless. It was this that drew the attention of some of the natives of Ivalice, casting glares in her direction.
"Silence the mutt! Lest you bring whatever blight this is upon us!" A piggish-being spoke out, adding an abrupt snort afterwards as his eyes stared daggers at the woman. Shortly after, a dragon-winged woman would reach out and touch his shoulder.
"Save your breath. What approaches is already aware I'd wager." She took a moment to glance back to the dancer, offering a slight smile and nod before turning her attention forward. The others seemed to follow suit, discarding their ire as they faced into the trees once more.
@Evanist As the moogle sat upon his steed, the feathered bird trilled nervously as she shifted her stance about. Despite her obvious anxiety, she stood firm as other mounted warriors gathered beside Erion. They faced forward into the trees, each one sat upon chocobo or horse, the wyvern's agitated growling could be heard from the stables behind the growing cavalry. A well-armored man adorned with a white cloak that swayed loosely behind him road up in front of the line, lifting a hand before calling out to the gather forces.
"Steady your beasts! We act only as support for the infantry here. The trees hinder our ability to charge the enemy." With this, his horse neighed, causing the man to grip onto the reigns tightly, "Blasted foreign beast... Now," His gaze returned to the troops and Erion, "If you spy a line of archers or mages, don't hesitate to announce their presence and I'll coordinate a strike upon them. If not, we strike the enemy from the flank once the engagement begins."
At this, the troops shouted sir in broken waves, a mixture of neighing and squawking erupting from the line.
@Lugia Jo-Anne sighed heavily as her vision settled forward once more, Robert could hear the rustling in the woods faintly over the shouts of leaders and the mixed calls of the beasts on the flank. Though darkness had taken over, the dim moonlight mixed with torches from the camp showed him shadows of something human-like skulking through the woods. Though he couldn't get a clear view of the band, he could see the faint glean of metal and the arcane shimmer of what appeared to be spells being prepared as the words of mages began to fall upon his ears. It soon became obvious this was indeed an assault.
@Eklispe As Robin awoke with a start, he'd begin wiping the sleep from his eyes as they slowly began to focus on Arus. For a moment he seem confused, "Arus? What are you?" Then as the sound of movement began to reach the inner folds of the tents, Robin glanced outside as he mumbled, "Sooner then I expected. I hope we're ready." At this point her stood, walking over to a chest placed at the corner of the room, opening it swiftly as he tossed on his robes. Shortly after he'd retrieve his tome and sword, placing both in position at his side before rejoining Arus.
"Well tactician, it seems your wit has paid off. I was concerned this would not work," At this point, the green robed summoner entered, fully prepared as if he had never slept, "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned. Though there is still no guarantee that this will work in our favor." The summoner seemed skeptical, despite his smile and swagger. He placed a hand over an unfamiliar jeweled scepter at his side, it seemed to glow faintly at his touch.
"Yes, well we'll see. If I'm wrong, we won't have to wait long. But I am confident, and with luck and skill, we'll win out." With this, the strategist turned to exit the tent, the summoner following closely. Before letting the linen flap fall, the man turned back to face Arus, "Are you coming? Every sword is welcomed. Especially one so diligent." With a confirming nod and a friendly smile, Robin waited.
