On top of the Tower under the shade of the lone tree Banshee-44, Cayde-6, Ikora Rey, and Spectre played cards. Banshee and Cayde were on losing streak with the real game being between the Hunter and Ikora. The hunter and Ikora were just about to show their hands when Commander Zavala slammed his fist into the light metal table. He hadn't used all his strength it would have gone into the ground if he had, looking between the offenders he spoke with an annoyed tone. "How many times have I told you not to gamble?"
Banshee spoke up as he looked over the table. "More times than I've had my memory wiped." He grumbled leaving the game.
Cayde had turned invisible and slipped away, along with all the glimmer he'd lost. Ikora and Spectre split what remained and quickly left, deciding it better not anger Zavala further by revealing their hands. They would play again next Friday just after dawn as they always had if only to break the boredom that the two commanders felt with the task of managing the Tower.
Spectre pulled off his helmet and leaned against the railing by Eris, the mysterious women occasionally glancing over at him. The Hunter was reading over the speakers message, he had been selected for the task? He was already planning a trip out to the Reef and this seemed better than hunting the house of Wolves with the others, he sighed and glanced over his gear. He wondered what other Guardians had been invited, anyone famous or a friend he knew? He shrugged to himself, whoever it was they had better be damn good he thought to himself as the stared out at the approaching ships.
