A brief history.

During the winter of 2011, hospitals in southeastern America became flooded with patients who complained of migraines, dizziness, and vomiting. Most of these patients were sent away with prescriptions to ease symptoms of stomach viruses and vertigo. However, as days passed by and more citizens became ill, the conditions worsened to vomiting blood, severe nosebleeds, fatigue, weakness, and in some cases, death. The first report of a "zombie" came in the early spring from Charleston, North Carolina. A man burst into the emergency room with his wife in his arms, claiming that she had spluttered up blood and then stopped breathing. The woman was soon after proclaimed dead. Thirty-five hours later, while being worked on in the morgue, she was reported to have risen from the dead and sank her teeth into a worker's shoulder, tearing a large portion of his skin and muscle off.

This triggered a series of zombie-like reports, and soon the nation spiraled into panicked chaos.
