[OOC] Harry Potter: Call of Darkness [CLOSED]

The Hogwarts grounds are opened once again for another exciting year of school. Filled with magic, light, and happiness. It is going to be another great year. But, even though the grounds are open, does that mean they're safe? In the light, there lurks a great darkness, calling upon many Witches and Wizards, to join the dark forces, and bring back, so,etching deadly, something powerful. What are they after, who knows. But what everyone does know, is that almost no one can be trusted. Students, teachers, the Ministry.

When the darkness, does call upon you, will you accept it, let it take you in, or will you fight it back, and resist. Hogwarts must be saved, before a great force of evil is awakened, and nothing can be done to stop it. Will you let Hogwarts be crushed in its wake, or stop it from ever happening.

Are you afraid of the Dark? If you aren't, you should be now.

In this RP, we would all be first years, coming to Hogwarts for the first time. We would not be using canon characters, as this is a different time period than when HP was in Hogwarts.

A few new changes, are that first years will be allowed on the quidditch team, but will be less likely to make the cut. Also, a trip (or two) too Hogsmead are allowed to first years (if they weren't before)

Name: Jason 'Jay' Obelisk

Age: 11 and a half.

Personality: Jason is a strong-willed, clever, and intelligent young man, although relatively closed off and cold, as far as showing soft and kinder emotions go - mostly from his pretty tough childhood. He has a very inquisitive and adventurous nature, and rather rebellious, as well, wanting to have his own free will. Jason's very protective, despite seeming quite uncaring at times, and will defend his friends with as much as he could muster. However, he's also rather sneaky due to his inwardly rebellious nature, and can often get into things he's not supposed to. Despite having no ulterior motives as of now, he's an ambitious young man, and has plans on becoming a powerful wizard. He doesn't like the thought of giving up, and this can make him seem competitive when going against someone of an equal mindframe. The boy has sharp instincts and a sharp mind that he often relies on, and his quick-thinking often ends up with him doing something 'daring' in the eyes of others, but is, in fact, natural and smart, in his own brain.

History: Jason was born to an american wizarding mother and a British father, within London. They were a middle-classed family, and when he was one years old, in popped another sibling - his sister. Time passed by, and in secrecy - scared of his father's muggleness, Jason's mother taught and told Jason and his little sister about the wonders of magic, even if they were too young to honestly comprehend it. It was mostly so that she could feel as if she was still relevant within the magical community. His father left them once he saw his mother doing magic - only a small Wingardium Leviosa spell when a stack of books fell from the top shelf, almost toppling onto Jason, and as his mother was a retired auror, life was pretty hard in those days. She had no muggle job, having spent the majority of her life in Hogwarts, and thusly, they went into debt relatively quickly.

They went from high middle-classed to lower-classed, not having much money, and Jason had to start struggling to help his mom. He stole, got into some trouble at school, but somehow stayed in the top reigns of the class, trying to make end's meet. His mom finally got a break when she was given a job within the magical world, but she opted to stay residing in the muggle-world so that her daughter could finish her grades there. With this, Jason was sent to Hogwarts. He didn't really want to go, since he had made a few friends - dangerous friends, but friends, in the streets of London, but went with it for now. So far, from what he'd read, DADA, Charms, Transfiguration, and possibly Potions would be his favorite classes, as they seemed the most interesting to him. Quidditch is also interesting, being a wizarding sport.

Personality:

Amelia has a temper on her, ever since the birth of her younger brother, she's found herself swamped with so many lessons she barely sleeps. Being the heir of her family means that Amelia has to prefect the 'imperfections' her mother says she has, as well as 'bringing pride and respect' to their family as a whole. There are days where she's quiet and does her lessons with a single-mindedness that brings a smile to both her parents faces, some days she can't manage to stir still and will lash out at anyone that comes near her. The mask that she wears seems perminent, her gaze blank and seeming to pierce into those she meets eyes with, smiles that used to grace her lips are in memory now. She's intelligent and knows spells most first-years shouldn't until third-year.

She'll avoid crowds if she can, she'll be the perfect heiress when out in public, but when home she'll be found in the kitchens with the house-elfs. She hates being in the same room with her family, mostly because the air is tense and irritates her more then when they manage stilted small-talk.

History:

Being born in a rich, well known family like the Saunders, Amelia from an early age hated things being done for her. People would come and stay around Christmas when her mother would hold her party's, which is how Amelia came to hate crowds. The Manor they lived in was large, beautiful and very expansive. But cold and empty to Amelia when her parents would vanish on 'errands' that would leave her and her brother -Aiden- alone in the care of the house-elves. Silence became as much as a comfort as it became a hindrance for Amelia as she grew older.

She loved the stories the elves told her as they moved efficiency through dinner preparation, their hands moving in gestures that had her interest, though she tried to hold her tongue as best she could. On a rainy day when she was seven, she asked her question and the answer had her forgetting the lesson of staying still and acting properly, her curiosity peeked more then ever. The gestures were how they used their magic, Amelia knew of magic through the books she'd read on magical theory, though she'd never seen or actually done it before. The elves told her that elf magic varied from witch or wizard magic and that if she wanted she could try to focus and see if she could try easy spells. When out in public she'd stay still and act as was expected of the heiress, but when home and with the elves she allowed herself to smile and practice her spells. Her parents almost never being alone helped with her mastery of simple spells, she wouldn't be able to do harder one's until she had a wand the elves has whispered to her, she'd bring pride to the Saunder family. But not for honor or respect like her parents thought she'd aim for, she was going to do it on her own and fight for her own ideas instead of being passive and allowing her mother and father to dictate her life.

Arabella (Ara) Ibcuss

Age: 11

Personality: Arabella is outgoing and does her best to get to know everyone. Though she is often blunt about her opinions and not afraid to voice them she tries her best to be nice to most people. She is known to be curious and adventurous, and is very good at avoiding sticky situations when it come to being caught doing something she shouldn’t be; Arabella has a way with words as well as a good class record and can normally talk her way out of a situation. She is a good student and always gets her work done, her thirst to learn as much as she can and her determination and well known competitiveness in most of what she does drives her to strive for top of all of her classes. To her close friends Arabella is always willing to lend a hand with anything but to people she barely knows she won’t bother unless it helps her to do so. Arabella is not afraid to defend herself or her friends when insulted or bullied and is not afraid to fight anyone who gets in her way or is harmful to anyone close to her. Arabella also has a short temper that clashes with her want to be kind to others and brings out the blunt, Sarcastic side in her; even if she is just frustrated with her self.

History: As Arabella grew up she didn’t get to see her siblings much, since Stella was eight and Xander was five when she was born she didn’t really get to spend much of her childhood with them. Arabella was two when Stella went off to Hogwarts and was only five when Xander followed suit. She had gotten to spend some of her time with Xander but since she was so young when he left she didn’t get to know him very well and she hardly knew Stella. Any time they came home She spent any and all possible time she could with them and she loved every minuet of it.
As Arabella grew she got accustomed to both the muggle way of life, because of her father, and the wizards way of life, because of her mother. She had the perfect balance of magical and mundane things. She loved her life and her family. She was the one child who didn’t specifically look like one of her parents. She had the same face shape, lips and cheekbones as her mother, but she had the same eye shape, nose and height that her father has. Arabella’s eye’s were a mix of her mother's eye color, blue, and her father’s eye color, grey. Her hair is light brown like her fathers is but her lean yet skinny build comes from her mother. This was constantly commented on and argued about when the whole family got together, which happened to be every holiday they all celebrated.
At the age of Eleven Arabella is ecstatic to join her Brother at Hogwarts. She is a little upset that her sister will not be with her at the school since she has graduated and moved on to become a dragonologist. She can not wait to go up and beyond with her grades and with help from her brother she has trained and is completely prepared for quidditch tryouts and hopes to join the team.
