Anyway, I will be playing a terrorist / liberation group depending on how you look at it.

If I may have this added to the history at around 17 years ago, the government affiliated group "Herald" (a pro independence terror group) begins underground operations against wilhelmsland.

8 years ago, the leader of herald, Darius Black speaks to gray about obeying the allied nations regarding the WMD's. Gray has him executed.

7 years ago, Herald begins operations against its own government, calling to nations like the LSS for aid in removing a despot which are ultimately denied. Herald begins purchasing local weapons and investing in a number of off shore companies, providing the inevitable funding for open revolution.

4 years ago, Herald begins random car bombings and mortar strikes against government facilities. Some people, especially the disenfranchised, see them as freedom fighters whereas "civilized" nations tend to view them as terrorists.

A thing to note is that Darius was the face of Herald before his execution but secretly his brother Matthias Black was the brains. Armed with pure hate for Gray, Matthias is out for blood. He still commands Herald but uses a loose command structure with many different leaders, all of whom he influences.

Ill detail the different people if this idea is accepted.

Voltus: Fine by me! Just figure out the specific of your minority and I'm on board.

Monkeypants: Sounds good! Keep in mind a "-Old insurgents" group is about 30-40 people.

On that note:

-New insurgents, large groups of disgruntled citizens more or less spontaneously rising up to the government. They have numbers as well as a momentum to gain ground quickly, but overall lack organization and a supporting infrastructure. (400-650 people)

-Old insurgents, small group labelled terrorists who have been active for years and have been waiting for this moment, they already have some foreign support and equipment but have kept small until now so the secret police wouldn't catch them. (30-40 people)

-Deflectors, army members that chose to go rogue, they begin well armed and medium in numbers, but have trouble gaining the respect and support of the population since they used to be the iron fist keeping them down. (80 people if regular soldiers, 120 if reservists)

Can Old Insurgents gain numbers quickly via recruiting process's in towns?

Easier than the defectors, but much harder than the new insurgents. Easier for people to rise up with a mob to fight in the day and be back before supper than to join professional fighters to fight across the entire country.
