Bows, man..... They're a pain in the arse to make. I can't seem to figure out their combat speed, dmg, stat gov., and a lot of other things, due to the fact that there's no magic, so arrows would have to be implemented, as well as the materials to make them, Fletcher stations.... ARGGGGGG! So much stuff!!!

Not to worry though. I still plan on allowing them in the future. If you would like, go ahead and make the archer. Just don't add him in here. PM me the character, and I'll let you know if it would be acceptable for future reference.

Right. Well str/dex combo stat, minus on the defense stats, movement + atk = -dmg and hit goes against the opponents speed stat in a decent fomula. If you can't shoot with a bow irl you will be screwed in the game. :P
Dmg plus hit goes up and remains the optimal and logical way to use it. Though due to the majority using swords and spd to fight it is considered a useless pvp weapon and is more of a tool to hunt non agressive wild life on the server for food purposes as food regens you stamina. Maybe.

tried..... most of that. It's still doesn't work out the way I want it to.

Think of it like this. Bows are more like sniper rifles. Obviously, you're not going to be point blank with a sniper rifle, unless you have extreme confidence in your skill with it. However, considering the theme of the game and the game's atmosphere, using a bow to 'hunt' is exactly what they would be used for. Comparing it to a sniper rifle, it requires much skill and luck, one of which can be determined by the system at its current state.

Either way, the bows still won't be implemented until a later date, regardless of if we figure them out now, or if they don't get figured out until then. As a weapon, it's best not to think about them for now. At least not until I mention them again, or have them up in the main OOC post.

Sure thing. Just another thought though, if it falls into a secondary weapon category like hunting it could also mean it is used for debuff status effects like partial body immobilization, like makes your limb restricted, I dunno another dumb suggestion alas dealing less damage but good for debuffs. Either way as you say atmosphere and archers are stepping down for now. :)

No such thing as a dumb suggestion. Only the un-shared kind. An un-shared suggestion can't help further the progress, as there is nothing there to go off of. But even a "dumb" suggestion can make a difference to future tests.

Also, if we implement archery as a debilitator/hunting mechanic, then I'll probably have Cecelia pick it up (in combat use as a gap closer, out of combat to keep from directly engaging animals as much as possible)

By default, I've always assumed that Keisuke is up on higher floors when leveling. Since he's a higher level, wouldn't that make sense, considering @Robo27 mentioned he was grinding while heading down the floors slowly?

Either way, doesn't make too much of a difference. IC, it won't be too hard to find Keisuke. The reason should be obvious.

that I did say since my dual sword skill is low I am having my character go down to a lower floor so as to ensure he does not put himself in a near death situation
