So I just got my beta invite for TES Online and was wondering if anyone else has gotten one so we could play together in the event this weekend.

If you haven't been invited you could try curse.com, apparently they're having a key giveaway.

Don't bother with it. I played it in first beta and uninstalled. It's horrible and the graphics look like something from PS1-era.

Not to mention, they actually expect you to pay $15 a month for this crap + Cash Shop fees if you want cute outfits for your char. I'd rather just add that 15 to my pot budget.

I hear they're aiming too much for typical MMO and not really staying true to the Elder Scrolls games.

I'm just going to keep an eye on it as it get's closer to release.

I will be online this weekend. I have an Aldmeri Dominion character.

The game is pretty fun, it's kind of a mix between MMO and regular ES style gameplay. I don't really care for MMOs, but it has kept me interested.

FWIW I've heard some reviews to the contrary. Monthly subscription is, to me, a positive thing (all the MMO games I've played have 'gone FTP' at some point, and in every case, THAT was the point at which the community began to suck).

Long story short watch the previews, try the beta if you can, make up your own mind as best you can -- you might like it and you wouldn't be the first.

And it would be dumb of you to expect that in an MMO, I've never expected TESO to break away from the standard MMO gameplay style. I'll just be playing it to see the level-world design and story in relation to other TES games, and to keep my rep for having played every major TES game besides Redguard.

As far as the graphics, what I've seen of the game really wasn't bad at all, you sure you don't just have a shitty PC?

The Aldmeri Dominion is the only faction in TES Online that makes any amount of sense. The Dunmer and Nords getting together? Really? Of course they had to add the Argonians for good measure, too.

Wait, they want you to pay for the game and then pay for a monthly subscription on top of that? No thanks, I’ll just wait until another Scrolls game comes out to get my fix.

You must not have played many MMOs because I can list 10 that have superior graphics when playing TESO at max settings. But the graphics are just nitpicking, the gameplay itself is very meh, it gets slightly more difficult around level 10, but it's still not challenging. Skyrim is definitely more of a conquest and feels rewarding. TESO, not so much.

They also had an NDA because the initial feedback was so bad from many players and they didn't want word of their mediocrity getting around before they launch the game.
Basically, unless you're a HUGE fan of the Elder Scrolls series and willing to overlook said mediocrity, you probably won't be billing to shell out 15 a month for this game. It's gonna go the way of Star Wars: The Old Republic. They're gonna sap as much money as possible in the first few months before they have to switch to an F2P+Cash Shop model to keep profit coming.
