Black University: One of the nation's oldest and most respected institutes of higher education. Many a fine doctor, lawyer, statesman, and researcher. Many students aspire to join the school's halls. Still, the school holds a secret: each year, Black University sends out invitations to students for a very unique program.

Young men and women with a the gift of Sight are called out by Black for their most important program, as candidates to become a Reaper. Yes, behind Black University's facade as just another university, it is actually a facility that was implemented to help train gifted individuals to aid in the tasks of the Grim Reaper, and, in the case of a truly gifted student, to become the new Grim Reaper, and watch over the sanctity of the fallen.

Students of the program live alongside other students at the University, keeping the secret of the program while trying to live college life. Even then, not every student passes the program, some burn out and choose to enroll in the school's other programs, and worse yet, some pass away during the course of their schooling.

Still, to those who finish, there are rewards. Students who finish the program are granted the duties of a Grim Reaper, a fat paycheck, and an expanded lifespan.

And the fall has begun, and a new handful of students have arrived at Black University, and are truly starting their lives.

BIG NOTE: When you make your characters, remember a couple things, first off, keep your weapon down to a simple category, such as sword, scythe, thrown, spear, axe, etc. While I will be allowing custom or unique weapons later, for now the sheets should only have the weapon variety. Name: Ethan Yurievich
Age: 19
Appearance: Trimmed black hair and clean shaven. Green eyes. He's pale and has a slim build. About 6'1. Usually dresses in whatever he can throw together, so long as it's clean.
Weapon: Sword
Background: 5th generation Russian immigrant. His family moved over to the United States before the start of the Second World War. Raised by a young mother and father, he didn't have the strongest upbringing, except when his grandparents were around. As such, he has always been a troublemaker and had issues with authority. He got into drugs when he was 13, but did enough of his schoolwork to get by in the middle of his class, when he wasn't getting suspensions for causing trouble. When his parents received his invitation to the school with a free ride, he wasn't given any choice, and his parents shipped him off to Black University.
Personality: Laid back, lazy, and generally full of himself, Ethan constantly halfasses things and doesn't pay attention to the consequences of his actions. While he would seem a slob, he does take care of his appearance and hygiene. Fancies himself a ladies man. Is more of a lech who gets away with it by having drugs people can mooch off him.

Weapon: The Family Heirloom; Decorated Scythe

Background: From a long line of people becoming highly prolific reapers, much has been placed on Drilalas shoulders from day one. She has studied for hours on end in order to become the next Death. She is enrolled in high school, college classes, and studies at Black University all at the same time.

Personality: While she is highly competitive, fun loving, and genuinely optimistic, she also can be serious. She questions whether or not she really wants to be the next Death...

Alright, so still need the writing sample, but a few small notes, the person carrying the Grim Reaper title for the sake of this continuity has the title for hundreds of years, so it may be good to change that note by either removing it or changing the family members to highly prolific or powerful reapers. And the other note is to keep the weapons limited to a generic type FOR NOW.

mmm okay, the prolific ones i can do. as far as it being a family heirloom, its just a fancy scythe with no specific powers of its own. Could i still keep it? Also what writing sample? I don't see anything for requesting a writing sample :/

Said that earlier. The reason for the generic weapons is a thing akin to Bleach, since the students' weapons are an extension of their spirits. I mean, they have dorm rooms with non-reaper students, so it'd be kind of odd to find dangerous weapons in the dorms, yada.

Appearance:

Weapon: Large Ninja star
Background: Her parents died when she was very little and she has no memory of them. She was sent to a rough orphanage where she was beaten up by older kids. She ended up having tpo learn to defend her self. After she vicously attacked a eight year old boy when she was five, she was sent to a mental clinic and then later sent to a "special" place. Though she wasn't cared for like a normal good place for children in need of extra help. Nope. They simply couldn't. When she came into human contact, her first instinct was to attack. She has been kept isolated in a clean cell where she ahs slowly been coaxed out of her violent habbits, preparing her for the outside world. By the time she was ten, she was given to a kind family. She blocked out her past and is now a relatively normal girl. Relatively.

YES YES very whacky but I felt like adding a past to her. (She can't remember before the age of ten(blocked out))
Personality: Cautious and quiet. She tends to stay out of violence when ever possible.

At first, your vains become pulsing black snakes, brimming with deadly venom, slowly closing in on your fragile heart.Then, your limbs get weaker, little by little, at an alarming rate. Waves of nausia and pounding head aches rush in like a monsoon of pain. A series of feints accure, constant.

Trapped...

Finnaly, your misseries cease to exist when the snakes black venom seeps into your heart. You are no more. What a releif...

'tumble weed' The girl thought as she strolled down the barren streets of Chorlton. Her small, black glasses glistened in the baking sun and her long, blonde hair subtly waved in the tiny breeze that lifted the dust from the abandoned houses and markets that lined the road. Cracked windows and busted doors. Dieing weeds and rusted cars. It was hard to imagine that the place ever inhabited living people, despite the girls memories from only two years ago. She smiled as she looked up to see n ot a single cloud in the clear blue sky.

Sweat began to mark her tatted shirt and ripped jeans as the sun slowly rose higher and higher. 'tumble weed wou'd be perfect to set the scene' She thought.

Suddenly, she abruptly stopped. She sniffed the bair and a worried look crept into hern eyes. She began to pick up the pace. 'Not far now' She thought. 'As soon as I get it, I'll leave'

So yeah, that's my example.

Mysticbluekitten: I cannot accept the CS as is without an age/age range, and as I said to ReaptheMusic, keep the weapon simple for the time being. Only other thing is, and this applies to everyone participating, I need a small writing sample before I accept CS's. Unless I've RPed with you before (highly unlikely), I cannot accept your sheet without getting some idea of your posting style and ability.

So yeah. Sorry if I'm coming off as a hardass here. It is not my intent. I just want this to be fun for everyone, and I want it to succeed.

Asking for a writing example is good. I've been in a few roleplays my self that have gone down hill becuase of lack of good writers, so it's completely understandable to ask for it

“Let’s braid your hair up Saray, for today is the day your mother and father will be newly weds!” The manor’s spunky maid sung as she entered De’Saray’s grand, embroidered bedroom. She yanked the girl’s bedroom curtains open to let the sun’s warming rays strike the girl’s bedsheets, to which she’d just pull up higher, over her head.
“ Go away. ” Saray whispered, not loud enough for the servant to hear under unruly, blonde curls. Saray wasn’t a rude person, normally, but this was the day she loathed most, seeing her new ‘father’ take the throne of this french manor. They weren’t broke, nor were they the richest people on earth. Such were the people who were lucky enough to be the ambassadors of kings and queens.
“Saray, ohhh saray ~. This is the day you should be proud of most of the seventeen years you’ve lived. Everyday has been wake up, homeschool, practice archery skills on your horse blaze, and sleep. Quite the monster that animal is….” The maid ended on a low note after ridiculing the girl’s best and only friend.
Saray ejected upright in her bed, tossing of the covers. She shivered as a gust of cold air replaced the warmth, but nevertheless glared at the maid as she rubbed the goosebumps off of her arms.
. “You forgot one thing. My such everlasting destiny to become the next death. It’s starting today, for real. I’m leaving for Black University:. I cannot stand whom my mom is going to marry, and I am seventeen. You're right, i should be proud of this day because it’s the very day i leave this place. Thank you for raising me into the women i’ve grown to be; independant. Fierce. But always loving even during my parent’s absence..” Thank you, Rose.

Personality:
Her interest is, of course, in pleasure of living; her own and of close friend’s pleasure to be exact. She's very whimsical and prone to pouting and sulking if she doesn't get what she wants. Her mood is wavering, and depends entirely upon recent events. She is very much attracted to physical appearances but her one true love will be of personality decent- even if good looks are nonexistant.
