~ Characters
Note: Mr. Cheshire's character sheet will be updated as the plot progresses.
Full Name: Unknown
Alias(es): Several. He uses a variety of fake IDs to pass through customs and security checkpoints. He is mostly known in the underground as Mr. Cheshire.
Sex: Male.
Nationality: American.
Age: Over 70 (exact age unknown)
Appearance:
Personality: Mr. Cheshire is described as a very callous and distant man. He considers the people he hires as tools and quickly discards them when their usefulness expires, even going as far as putting bounties in their heads if his identity is at risk of being compromised. When asked, he gives vague answers about himself, like stating his age to be "over 70" or using "maybe" as a riposte when asked if he has a family. He also has severe trust issues, wearing a mask to meet new people and maintaining a distance of at least 15 feet away from them. He only appears in person during the early negotiations phase. Once a deal is made, he resorts to forwarding messages to his "tools" via his OPLink or through his concierge. If one of his operatives finds valuable information, he makes sure that information is communicated to him and him only so as to prevent a leak. It's also not uncommon for him to withhold crucial information for a certain period, only to spill them when he decides the time's right. His tone of voice is very rigid, and he was never seen or heard cracking a joke.
Another one of his defining traits are his improvisational skills. He is able to effortlessly adapt a new identity, complete with a fake background history and an entirely new personality in a matter of minutes. In spite of his cold, strictly professional attitude, Mr. Cheshire seems to bear an endless amount of love for his country. His patriotic tendencies aren't too "in your face", but based on his actions and how far he is willing to go to protect The United States from The Network's clutches, it doesn't take an understanding of rocket science to know that he's a man who loves his country. He also seems to be close to his young concierge, Emily, letting her in on many of his secrets. It is unknown what is it that he plans to do if he manages to dispatch The United States branch of The Network.
Background: Close to nothing is known about this mysterious benefactor. Based on his understanding of military tactics and knowledge on pretty classified, albeit outdated intel, it can be concluded that he had a prominent role during the Cold War. He has a freakishly large amount of resources and wealth, which he stores in shadow accounts in different banks of the world. It's unknown how he's gathered that wealth, and when asked, he'll usually say that he's "laid the foundations". What foundations he's talking, nobody knows.

Appearance:
He stands at around 6'4 and weighs over 200 pounds. He usually sports a porcelain cat mask to cover his face when meeting people he doesn't fully trust and only takes it off after they gain his trust, which takes a couple of days or even months. The mask also has a voice modifier strapped on the inside, near the mouth.

Full Name: Emily Yeagher
Alias(es): Just like Mr. Cheshire, she uses a variety of different identities to pass through customs. The name she goes by in the underground world is Alice.
Sex: Female
Nationality: Canadian.
Age: 27
Appearance:
She is 5'6 tall and weighs around 125 pounds.
Personality: Due to the secretive nature of their mission, Emily, just like her boss, won't disclose details about herself early on. Unlike Cheshire however, she does eventually get comfortable with people she interacts even though she hasn't gotten a chance to do that with anyone else but the old man in a long, long time. She is rather sarcastic most of the time, but knows when to get professional. And while there, she keeps a strictly professional relationship with all of Mr. Cheshire's hired helpers, which is not quite a hard task considering they are let go in a jiffy. She doesn't always agree with her boss' doings, but does appreciate the fact that he's doing it for a something bigger than himself.
Emily's relationship with Mr. Cheshire is akin to that of a father-daughter, although she always appears to be his escort in public (so that they can share rooms and it wouldn't be weird). She sees in Mr. Cheshire what she believed her biological father lacked; conviction. While not a follower of his ideals, she can see that they're noble and as such is ready to do anything in her control to help him achieve them. She goes by the philosophy that nothing should be kept hidden from the people, but respect her superior's decision to not disclose any intel considering the circumstances. Overall, her personality is somewhat radiant, with a hint of pragmatism in it. She often throws jokes around, loves to banter and is very good at it.
Background: Born to a Canadian father and an American mother, Emily grew into a fairly supportive family. Her keen intellect surfaced at a pretty early age, so her parents made sure to enlist her into different courses and extracurricular activities, stuff she mostly enjoyed. It was during her teenage years that she also developed an interest on politics. It all started when she decided to watch a TV news channel out of boredom, and then it evolved from there. She was mostly fascinated with the political stage in The United States, growing to hate all of the operating politicians regardless of their position.
Everything went downhill during her young adult phase. Her father, a corporate executive working for some big shot corporation, decided to take Emily to a trip in America. She loved it there and plead her father to let her stay to study journalism at the New York University. He reluctantly agreed. While there, aside from her studies, she was also involved in writing columns for an internet news website in exchange for a modest fee. Some of her research led her to come into possession of incriminating evidence regarding a backroom deal between certain corporate executives and US government officials. Shortly after, she published an article called "The Ugly Truth: Ways Your Government Is Covertly Screwing You" which had all of the aforementioned information, and then some. The article was quickly taken off the website, so she spread it around, first on her blog and then on different news websites. The internet got wind that something wrong was going on when all traces of the article began vanishing. That is also around the time when she first came in contact with Mr. Cheshire in a private chat. She found his way of speech and his weirdly ominous messages concerning, but later shrugged them off as nothing.
Blowing the whistle got Emily labeled as some internet hero, but also helped her garner a lot of unwanted attention. She was soon arrested, and one of those corporate monkeys she helped expose made a couple of calls and had her father fired. Devastated, he couldn't face the stress and committed suicide by asphyxiation. The news hit Emily hard, but she couldn't mourn him yet as she had a slew of problems to deal with beforehand, one of them being her trial. And then, everything went to a halt. The prosecution decided to drop all charges and agreed to pay 40,000 dollars in restitution. Emily was at first dumbfounded. She had no idea what happened. It was at her father's funeral that she was approached by a mysterious old man, who revealed himself to be Mr. Cheshire, the one who orchestrated the trial to be in the redhead's favor. He effectively recruited her into his cause, promising that she'd gain revenge against all the bureaucrats that did her family harm. She was 22 at the time.
Over the years, she has received some minor combat training and has become proficient in different firearms. Her role in the game is as a middle woman in Mr. Cheshire's business dealings and as his personal hacker, using her skills to gain access to different digital fortresses, hide his tracks, create shadow bank accounts and what not.

Sex: I swear to God if you fill out this section with "pretty often" or something like that, I'll put a bounty in your head.
