Rei watched the girl leap. Her body turned to watch the girl's leap. The way the girl's body blocked the moonlight was extraordinary. Rei's stillness was broken when the girl landed and Rei began to move once again. The young (and oddly blue) man turned and offered water to her and the old man. "No." Rei replied in a quick and sharp tone. Her slow walk slowly increased in speed after the man offered his help. Each step sunk into the ashen floor, which slowly drained Rei's stamina more and more.

Leander was beginning to feel more and more tired as the endless trek continued on, what with the dry air and the uncertain ashy terrain. Leander was making an effort to keep his footing, so as to not slip and fall. Fortunately, he had his magic staff to rely on and lean upon should his feet fail him.

Speaking of magic, one of the group members began to exhibit unusual properties of which Leander was sure she didn't have before. Regardless, Leander continued on, unfazed by the experience. Another member of the group offered some water, which the others refused. Leander reached out for it and grabbed the flask, saying, "I'll take some, thanks." Taking a mouthful, Leander slowly swallowed the water bit by bit while handing the flask back to Ryneld.

The moon grew larger and brighter once more, as they continued their walk. The water that had been conjured helped quell the thirst of some, and eventually, they reached a halfway point in their journey, having travelled for more than half a day. The moon was tinged with a scarlet shade now, one that began to blossom from the center, before radiating outwards. The white sands took on a pink shade, and the sky itself a violet color. Something had changed in this desert of skeleton trees, but for the time being, it was uncertain what.

By now, however, the change in body mass would be clear to everyone in the group, and the more magically astute would be able to tell, at this distance, that the tower they were heading towards had changed. A faint pulse of arcane force was radiating from it, almost like that of a tuning fork.

Ryneld swung his arms oddly but other than that kept walking normally. His eyes narrowed suspiciously at the moon. Then he turned his gaze onto the tower. He sped up his pace a little and began glancing around furtively.

Leander was becoming increasingly anxious as the surroundings changed color. He occasionally looked at the moon as everyone walked. As they walked, Leander could also feel the magical aura of the structure they were heading towards. There was plenty of time to think, but nothing to really act upon at the moment. All they could do was walk, and that was exactly what he did.
