As the Republic Cruiser dropped out of Hyperspace, Jedi Master Rhukti Ky stared out the viewport at the world of Onderon. While Onderon had cooperated with the Republic in the past few centuries, it came at no surprise to the Torgruta Jedi that it had fallen under Sith Influence during the War. The planet had a dark history, especially considering the history of Freedon Nadd and the extreme cultists that had appeared over the years to worship the Sith Lord and continue his influence. Even before entering orbit, Master Ky could feel the strong presence of the Force coming from the planet, crying out as those below sought to abuse it and manipulate it to their own selfish will.
In the Jedi's experience, the Sith didn't respect the Force, merely seeing it as a means to an end. They treated it like a tool, abusing it to smash through any who opposed them. Ky simply didn't agree with that treatment of the Living Force, that said the Jedi weren't innocent by any means. Each organization had its faults, they became more and more apparent with each year that passed by, but the Jedi were the lesser of two evils and during a time of war no one's hands were completely clean.
The war had everyone running scared and the Jedi Council were no different. At the behest of the Council, the Republic had sent along a platoon of elite troopers with Master Ky to ensure his protection. With the planet under the oppression of the Sith, the Republic were very curious as to what Onderon had to offer, as such they had dispatched Ky to infiltrate behind enemy lines and find out exactly why the Sith were so keen in holding on to Onderon.
Turning to his protector, Ky broke the silence as he stood up from his meditation.
"Much suffering I sense from the planet's surface. I believe our mission here is of the highest priority Captain, I certainly hope you and your troops are feeling up to the wilderness of Onderon. I have heard the native beasts are quite dangerous to deal with."
