Thanks for the post. And what do you mean? They're still sent off to train as usual and people are still unsure of whether they're in control of their magic or not.

And btw, sorry about the delay. Last night I was out celebrating my birthday and I've been bogged down with reading a novel for class that I'm horribly behind in. >___>

Well, in DA mages are feared by the general populace and magic is seen mostly as a demon magnet. Any mages outside a Circle would get the Templars called on them (unless they were with the Wardens, and even then...). I was just wondering if they were leashed so tightly in this version of Ferelden, or if they are given a little more leeway with practicing in public. I guess what the general attitude surrounding it is?

And no problem! School's an ass-kicker.

Were mages really feared in DA though? I inferred people apprehensive but not outright fearful.

Here though, Templars would still serve their purpose of course of keeping the peace inside the Circile. I would say it's not a worldwide disdain to look down on mages but overall, many people would be unsettled by them maybe being outside of their expected Kingdom. At the same time, pissing off a mage or making them unwanted is probably an unwise thing to do so I'd also suspect most (smart) people would just avoid them or try to limit interactions if they a personal reason to be afraid.

And btw, if the three of us, you me and sMoKe need to do a 1x1x1 for this (if it comes down to the need or restarting the IntChk with you two already approved) I am up for that. This sluggish pace is killing me.

Three Englishes aren't bad but they are if they all decide to pile on reading at the same time, what makes it worse is I have the same professor for my first class as I do for my last, so bailing on it is a little more of a delicate situation. >___< Not cool.

Yeah, the Circles in DA (in Ferelden and the Free Marches at least, and to a lesser extent Orlais) are more prisons than training academies. Mages are sent there as soon as their magic is discovered, and from then they're rarely permitted to leave... ever. The Circles are supposed to be for the safety of mages, but I'd say in general they're more to keep the mages away from the general populace. This is mostly the Chantry's fault, since they espouse some pretty hardcore anti-magic views, and most people in Thedas are Andrastian. An exception would be the mages recruited into the Grey Wardens (or just the Wardens here), since the Wardens are heroes of the Blight and operate pretty much above the law. Or the Tevinter Imperium, but we don't talk about those heathens.

Which brings me to my next question: are Wardens able to get things for free? It would depend largely on the persuasive power of the individual, but in DA Wardens are allowed to take whatever they "need" to defeat a Blight, even when there is not a Blight going on at present. Some Wardens abuse this power to get more recruits or free meals. There probably won't be so much of that with our Wardens, but I know Ronan would not be averse to free meals. ... Sorry, Thedas is one of my favorite settings, so I do a lot of thinking about it.

I'd be up for that, if needed! If the others aren't active anymore it would probably be in our best interests to get some replacements. I've yet to find another RP that catches my interest, so I'd really like to keep this one going.

Hey @sMoKe would you be up for a 1x1x1?

I'm planning on spending most of tomorrow online catching up. I had a 5 page paper due this week and because I have to write about myself, it took me a lot linger than if I had to do a normal, more academic essay. And I have TONS of reading for these classes, as opposed to writing. If I had stuff to write, I'd be able to hop online easier but because my reading is in books (I need to look up readings on youtube though) it's hard to multitask on here but I am trying. I swear. >___<

I don't know if I mentioned here or not but for my birthday, I got DA2 so I'm looking forward to playing it when the holiday season approaches.

Ahem, I would say Wardens don't get to "take" anything they want but they could probably ask and most people would just give things to them or offer some sweet discount. I think some people would relent in regards to giving them special treatment where others would be happy to help them out. And your extra bit of knowledge is super helpful, don't apologize! :3

Awesome, I'll quickly set up a 1x1x1 thread for us and we can all just repost what we have with some edits (in regards to there being less Wardens). I may still stick to the two I have but if you guys want to add another or even tweak what your guy OCs, that's fine. I'll be sure to tag you both in the OOC.
