I keep looking for Star Trek RP but I can't find one, as there doesn't seem to be enough interest to keep one alive. I think if I start a thread where anyone interested can post their ideas and vote on any ideas that are in here we may garner enough interest in one topic to get one of them started properly.

I'll post links to any threads that have been started in one hider and list any that haven't been in separate hiders. That way we can look at the ones that have been started and weigh new ideas against each other as well.

I'll count the votes as follows:
1)List your first through third choices.
2)First choice adds three points, second choice adds two points, and third choice adds one point.
3)Ideas will be posted under "Ideas".
4)Threads that have enough points can be started whenever their GM wants to start them.
5)When a thread is started, it will be moved from the ideas to the "Started threads" group.

I think it would be interesting to see a Trek RP where each player plays an entire starship, not just a member of the crew. You could approach it multiple ways.

Way 1: Gene Roddenberry's utopia is in tatters as the Federation is no more. The Klingons, Romulans, Borg, or someone else infiltrated Federation space undetected and toppled the Federation's top brass, effectively taking over the entire empire. The result, however, remains the same: the (many) Federation ships that were in deep space when the takeover happened now have no allegiance. Some defect to the new regime, but the rest have no place to call home. Now they must deal with deep space patrols trying to get them to surrender or kill them, space pirates, and other orphaned starships (aka players). The Captains must decide on a new five-year mission.

Way 2: A space anomoly (or was it Q?) destroys a bunch of starships' long range communicators. Now they can only communicate with other vessels/starbases within a close distance. The result? Anarchy! Some ships (from ALL races) revel in the freshly cut ties and go rogue, attacking other ships and starbases for supplies, while others attempt to keep peace via diplomacy and trading. But it's hard for everyone, with rogue ships, space pirates and high tensions everywhere. One wrong move and you're getting a starship's entire weapon arsenal sent your way. How will you steer your ship and crew?

Way 3: A classic PvE war between the Klingons, Romulans, and/or Borg. You control a Federation ship, and must work together with other (player) vessels to win your battles and survive another day.

So basically: gritty free-for-all (Federation only), gritty free-for-all (any race), or PvE space romp.

I think way two would work better if he screwed up subspace (or, you know, someone detonated some Omega particles) and we got stranded in a neutral system, maybe the Bajoran system. DS9 can't keep the peace outside of its weapon's range with only a few runabouts, so the interstellar negotiations they were hosting between the Federation, Romulans, Klingons, Cardassians, Bajorans, Dominion remnants, Ferengi, etc. break down and everyone blames everyone else. A massive fight breaks out with everyone attacking everyone else, and the station caught in the middle. Some people even go through the wormhole to try and use their warp drives to get home, despite the fact that it will take decades.

I've always kind of been interested in the idea of having an RP based off of a "what if" scenario centered around "Living Witness", the episode of Voyager where the doctor is activated in the future and discovers that an alien species remembers Voyager as a warship full of ruthless war criminals who would do anything to get back home. Basically, this RP would take place in a universe where said aliens got it right and Voyager was exactly how they described it. Not quite Mirror Universe, but a similar feel.

That's not a bad idea. I don't have that season on DVD though, so I'm not to sure of the details.

Dominion War: Squadron. Based off a DS9 episode, play an Academy squadron forced to the front lines in a Defiant class.

Cage Fight: A Federation starship finds itself face to face with a miraculous discovery: a Dyson Sphere. The only problem? Both Romulan Tal'Shiar and Klingon Imperial Intelligence have warbirds already on station, and escalation seems imminent.

Mirror, Mirror: A small Federation crew finds itself in the Mirror Universe, answering an automated distress call before they even realize exactly what's happened. They answer the distress call, and find an ancient starship filled with cyrostasis pods. Powering up the ship unintentionally begins to unthaw the pods within. The ship? The SS Botany Bay. The captain? Khan Noonien Singh. With Imperial Starfleet coming down on the crew fast, can they and Khan make it out alive? (Plot twist: one of the crew is Section 31, and very much meant to awaken MU Khan, unbeknownst to their fellow crew.)

There's an article of it on Memory Alpha, and if you happen to have netflix the whole series is there.

memory alpha is too slow for me, especially if I have anything else loaded on the internet. Also, most other wikis.

There was an alternate Universe story in which they find the Botany Bay and a group of augmented humans aboard it. All of the humans in this universe became augments after Khan won the eugenics wars, and they were intrigued by the thought of unaugmented humans. At least they were until they realized how weak they were and the humans installed a warp drive on the botany bay to escape to alien space.

Also, in cage fight, I'm assuming the obsidian order isn't far behind.

Terak Nor:
After the Dominion War members of multiple species come to DS9 to study the wormhole. Their joint effort has lead to the creation of the Herald, a ship built with Federation, Klingon, Romulan, Cardassian, and Ferengi technology which carries a prototype wormhole drive. When they activate the drive, however, instead of taking them to another star system in a few seconds it took them back in time 20 years. They find out that a Cardassian scientist that worked on the Wormhole Drive project was an ex member of the Obsidian order who knew that the ship would go back in time, and has decided to use the opportunity to save Cardassia by assassinating key people within the Cardassian, Federation, and Bajoran territories. We must stop them.

or

Delta Quadrant:
Several years after Voyager returns home Star Fleet develops Transwarp conduit technology thanks to the help of Seven and Echeb. A ship returns to the Delta Quadrant to reestablish contact with the people Voyager met and attempt to use new terraforming techniques to save Ocampa. Things aren't as they had hoped, though, as the destruction the Borg underwent, as well as their other interactions, threw off the balance of power in the quadrant.

I have a few ideas if you are interested. I'm a huge trekkie and actually tried starting up a few Star Trek Rps on different sites that never got off the ground.
