Roxy sat against Christa, unwrapping one of the granola bars, happy that it was apple cinnamon, her favourite flavour. She was also happy that Christa had actually returned her affections and quietly sung to herself.
As the police station filled with the small choir, Roxy finally felt safe. With the song filling the air and the company filling her heart she completely forgot about the events that had led them there and the stress of the past few days melted away into the fading afternoon light.
Roxy stopped her strumming abruptly and looked up to the door, her eyes wide and confused. She looked back and forth between Christa and Vagin. "Um. Do you think it's the lady on the radio?"
Roxy visibly relaxed, sighing in relief. She stood and approached the door, smiling. "Hey." She said, extending her hand. "I'm Roxy. I'm the one on the radio."
Roxy smiled and waved her in, nervously checking the city skyline before closing the door. "You uh, you didn't have any trouble getting over here, did you?" She asked.
She nodded. "There were some creatures, but I managed to lose them." ~ Christa tilted her head to the side and she and Vagin put the barricade back up.
Roxy nodded, but her face didn't agree with her gesture. She swore under her breath and ran a hand through her hair. "Did you... do you know what they are?" She asked, almost dreading the answer.
