Name: Ashley West (16, Junior)
Appearance: 5'4", brown hair, freckles, and generally has a short, pudgy and bubbly appearance. Always dresses much too fancy and elaborately for the occasion.
Bio: Moved from California when her family began constructing a large mall in Amber Valley. This is her first year at school and a lot of people consider her a bit of an outsider.

Name: Jamie Morrison (15, Sophomore)
Appearance: 5'3", moderately dark skin, has a small afro. Like a lot of people in town he wears blue jeans and white T-shirts most of the time.
Bio: Jamie moved to Amber Valley at the start of his freshman year. His father owns several blocks of manufacturing buildings in a few towns in the state, and they move between them every now and then. His father doesn't approve of his love of painting, so he became the student body treasurer to placate him, but it's made him known as kind of a stick in the mud.

Name: Ian Smith (17, Senior)
Appearance: 5'9", light brown hair, considered extremely handsome by most of the school. In fact his mature and well-groomed characteristics make him look more like an adult actor trying to play a high schooler than an actual high schooler. The fact that he always wears a ring doesn't help matters.
Bio: He moved to Amber Valley two years ago, but that's all most people know about him. He doesn't like to talk much about himself, after all.
Relationships: Freely hangs out with many students but doesn't have many strong friendships of his own.

Name: Fernando Castro-Vargas (15, Sophomore)
Appearance: 5'7", he's tall and heavy enough that he could be pretty imposing if he wanted to, if he wasn't so non-confrontational.
Bio: Fernando is always nice and forgiving to everyone, probably to a fault since most people think of him as a nervous pushover. He's a big fanatic for band and plays the flute, and he's also obsessed with reptiles.
Relationships: Probably friends with everyone in band.

Name: Kyle Carter (16, Junior)
Appearance: Short blond hair, 5'8" and bulky enough to be on the football team, which he is.
Bio: If there's an equivelant of a frat boy for a high school in this kind of town, Kyle Carter is that. Kyle's voice is well known, because he's always hollering at the girls at school, or yelling about something or other when drunk at a party. Supposedly he's not that bad of a guy when you get to know him, and despite his bad attitude he's always got some of the best grades in his science classes.

Name: Hideaki Mori (17, Senior)
Appearance: 5'11", tall and lean, more suited for basketball but the high school only plays one sport. He keeps his black hair very short and with a bit of gel, and has a pretty sharp and serious face.
Bio: Hideaki pals around with the rest of the football team and lets them at their antics, but he's unwilling to make a loud scene of himself. Even if he's less obnoxious he's more willing to resort to violence than the other football players if he thinks a situation calls for it.

Name: Betsy Hunter (16, Junior)
Appearance: 5'8", straight blond hair to her shoulders, always has her makeup done excellently.
Bio: Her family moved to Amber Valley when she was in middle school, but she made fast friends. If there's anything Betsy hates it's being alone, unpopular or dejected, and she's always been jealous of Val Crenshaw's popularity and status, but she has strong respect for her as well.

Name: Robert Hunter (14, Freshman)
Appearance: 5'5", curly brownish hair, usually seen wearing hoodies and wrinkled clothing. Despite all the junk food he eats he somehow stays thin.
Bio: Betsy's little brother, a laid-back and carefree kid. He takes nothing seriously, including classes and his friend's issues. Serially unreliable.

Name: Jenny & Alexandra Summers (16, Juniors)
Appearance: Two identical twin sisters, both 5'5" with somewhat dark red hair. Jenny always has her hair in a ponytail and Alexandra wears hers straight, to distinguish the two. Jenny wears a lot of active clothing, Alexandra usually dresses more formal.
Bio: The daughters of the ranger in charge of Amber Valley's Mica National Park, and people say they each inherited a different attitude from him. Jenny loves the outdoors, while Alexandra is more into politics and business. They're rarely seen together and actually don't get along that well.

Name: Don Ward (17, Senior)
Appearance: 5'9", tall, kinda gaunt and pale, wears big black glasses. Usually wears white buttoned shirts and ties, even during school.
Bio: Sole member of AV High's AV Club, and is pretty much responsible for keeping most of the TVs and computers in the school running. When he's not studying video hardware he's using it to watch old monster and horror movies.

Ezra Scultone

Name: Ezra Scultone
Faction: ORDER

Age: 19

Appearance: A tall attractive young man in the prime of his youth, Ezra has tanned skin, eyes as green as poison, and immaculately groomed dark hair. Ezra dresses in motorcycle jackets and dark jeans. His reflective aviators are a permanent fixture upon his face, even indoors. The only mar on his otherwise handsome face is his nose, having been broken several times and now a crude lump. His hands are rough and callused from working on his bike and from playing guitar. His body is toned, and he is in peak physical condition. He wears his mothers hamsah necklace under his shirt.

Personality: Amber Valley's bad-boy heartthrob, Ezra has been told his entire life that he was handsome and intelligent. And while he's smart enough to know how to bend the rules, he still isn't mature enough to know that you shouldn't. Ezra is also incredibly lazy, and isn't willing to do anything he doesn't want to. Because of this, he's failing most of his classes except shop and history. Something of a cassanova, Ezra is the subject of much gossip and crushes among the female student body, as well as some of the men. Ezra hasn't stayed in a relationship for longer than a month, preferring to drift from one girl to the next. Despite his somewhat lax nature concerning rules, he keeps a very strong sense of personal ethics, and most people think that he's a good guy. Passionate about magical history, Ezra intends to become a history major once, or if, he graduates. Ezra's relationship with the ORDER is one that came out of his love for his mother, as she had been a loosely affiliated member of the group.
Ezra is incredibly close with his father, and, uncharacteristically, will cancel social events with friends to spend time with him. The grief over his mothers death is still traumatic to him, and he becomes especially maudlin on dates important to Rachel, Mothers Day, her birthday, and the day she was in the accident.

History: Born in Santa Monica California, Ezra was the only child of the Bernard, a mechanic, and Rachel Scultone, a magical scholar. Rachel was a professor for UCLA's history department, and focused in magical studies. Bernard ran his own auto-parts shop. Ezra grew up in a loving home, and loved nothing more than listening to the stories his mother told him about the past, and helping his father out in his shop. At the start of Ezra's freshman year of high school, Rachel was in a serious car crash when returning from work one evening, and had been put in a coma. Ezra and his father were highly traumatized, and when Rachel was declared brain dead after a month of extensive medical care, Bernard had already begun to come to terms that the love of his life had died. Ezra suffered the hardest from his mothers loss, and went into shock for a week afterwards, being completely mute the entire time. Because of Ezra's grief, he was taken out of school for the year, spending most of it in counseling offices or in the garage, tinkering with the motorcycle he would later ride. By the end of the year, Bernard, faced with mounting medical bills, decided to pull the plug on Rachel. Still overwhelmed by medical bills, Bernard sold everything, and returned to his old hometown of Amber Valley. The Ezra that started freshman year in Amber Valley was nothing like the old Ezra. Older and more mature than the other students, Ezra's intelligence, natural good looks, relative exoticness to the rest of the student body, as well as the new devil-may-care attitude vaulted him into the esteemed group known as 'cool kids.' While Bernard established the new repair shop in Amber Valley, Ezra buried his grief under a facade, and tried to move on. Ezra had been contacted by a member of AV's ORDER when he moved here, and has since then become a proud member of the group, thinking of it as a way to connect with his mother.

Skills:
Crude fighting: Though he still has an aversion to physical violence, Ezra has learned to be able to back up his tough words, and is able to take and give a punch with the best of them. Anyone with actual martial arts training would knock him flat, though.
Auto parts repair: Trained first by his father and then later through his own experiences, Ezra is able to fix everything that has wheels and an engine, though he loves motorcycles the most.
Guitar Player: Originally just a way to get babes, Ezra has a deep love for playing the guitar, both electric and acoustic. He's certainly not the best in the world, but he doesn't sound awful.
Magical Scholar: Inspired by his mother, Ezra is a hobbyist historian for all things magical, having even done original research on his own and submitting his findings to journals. Only one of them was ever published, a continuation of Rachel's own research into the inner workings of demonic magic.
Silver Tongued: Being a cool kid isn't just all about being a rebel without a cause. You have to be able to sound as cool as you look. And that means being able to speak fluently. Ezra, when he wants to, can be rather persuasive. Reading all those old books has given him a much more complex vocabulary than most would suspect.

Magic: Ezra has only recently begun to manifest his magical powers, which have been being able to see shades and phantasmic beings. So far, all he's seen has been a bunch of angry farmer ghosts, a 90's emo kid that committed suicide, and has caught glimpses of two incredibly angry ghosts following around this random nerd. Only last year has he been able to start to speak with the ghosts, though doing so takes incredible focus.

Name: Valentina Luna-Crenshaw
Faction: Independent
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Age: 16

Personality:

Valentina is a dichotomy; socially charming enough to charm chrome off a bumper and publicly loved by many of Amber Valley, while secretly one of the greatest deviants in the entire county. Intelligent and manipulative, Valentina is an alpha girl that keeps a very tight knit inner circle she feels comfortable being herself around, while careful to keep up the appearance of a golden child to everyone else. Openly sweet hearted and ever polite, behind the scenes apathetic and sarcastic. At the end of the day Amber Valley bores her, and she counts the days until she can be off to college and never, ever, come back.

History:

Valentina was originally born to Antonio and Esmerelda Luna, members of ORDER from a bloodline always strong in magic. But no amount of magic could have saved the couple when Antonio fell asleep at the wheel driving back to their chicken farm from a late night meeting in town. Both were killed, though Esmerelda would linger in coma for nearly a month before she too finally lost her battle for life. The suddenly orphaned Valentina was adopted by the county Sheriff and his wife, and so Valentina had lost her connection to her true lineage and the magic in her blood, neither the Sheriff or his wife involved in the supernatural.

As the adopted daughter of such an important political figure in the community, appearances were always stressed to Valentina from a young age. Add onto that the demands put on Valentina to be the daughter they were never able to naturally conceive, and since she could recall Valentina was always playing the part of the perfect daughter to the couple that liked to pretend hemselves the perfect couple; religious and moral and community minded. Nevermind the Sheriff's drinking, or the occasional late night domestic violence that Valentina always denied, just as she was taught by her adopted parents.

The result was a girl that always acted a part to please her adopted parents to achieve their approval and love, but acted out whenever possible to rebel from a home that wasn't always loving and supportive as it appeared to others on the outside. Few girls have shoplifted more from the nearby mall than Valentina, though she's yet to be caught--call it luck, call it skill, or call it the supernatural work of energies working behind the scenes. Whatever the case, Valentina seems to hold a supernatural draw and ability to manipulate those around her.

If only she knew her blood line's magic was always aimed at supporting those around them, strengthening the resolve of their allies against the temptations and manipulations of the Demon Lord and his horde. She holds a stranglehold on the Amber Valley High varsity cheer squad, it's captain since her sophomore year--unheard of in varsity cheer for an underclassmen to hold the title as a sophomore, and rare even as the junior she now is. She also serves as a youth minister in the city's main church youth program, as well as chair of Amber Valley High's events committee since the start of her junior year--another rarity for a non-senior.

There is also no harder invite to get than Val Crenshaw's Saturday night parties.

Val has been single since her senior boyfriend of the last year graduated and went on to OU. No one seems to have her interest, though there are rumors that she's begun dating an older guy from a nearby college, and others still she's dating two senior boys at the same time, and simply wants to keep them a secret from each other.

Skills: sleight of hand/theft, lockpicking, friends in high places, athletic.

Magic: None that she is consciously aware of, though subconsciously she magically influences every relationship she has--no matter how small or major the relationship is, from acquaintance to friend to best friends to teachers and principles and city leaders. If she was aware of her abilities, it's possible she could use them for good, to augment the members of ORDER in their struggle against demonic forces.

Francis Siegfried

Name: Francis Siegfried
Faction: Order
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Appearance: Awkward, awkward adolescence has given Fraaaaaaaan-cis height, but denied him grace; he is a gawky 16 year old barely done with his growth spurt and has not entirely acclimated to the changes. Last year, he wore short-sleeved button-down shirts and thick glasses. Now he's discovered heavy metal, rebellion and an excuse to grow his hair out long on top, shaved on the side. He was only wearing clip-on earrings until it was discovered by Valentia, who turned it into something to amuse the school's higher caste with. As a result, he went and got the real thing done under the needle, gritting his teeth all the way. He still has to play in the marching band, and therefore is a card carrying dork in good standing no matter how many piercings he gets.

Personality: Nerds don't have personalities, their big brains don't necessarily allow for those. He has a sense of humor, but nothing a real (cool) person would recognize as such. Too much Monty Python and other British comedy. Oh, and a huge Red Dwarf fan. The dude lives and breathes Battlestar Galactica, and squees at Star Trek anything. Of course, in public, it's METALLLLLLLLLLLLL! To be fair, he loves Metal, but feels compelled to overcompensate about it.

History: Francis is the scion of two heroic bloodlines; that of a brutal and dangerous warrior of unparalleled prowess and a devious and powerful ancient sorcerer...and neither of them particularly liked each other. It's safe to say they hated each other's guts. So it was with mutual horror as the spirits of these men watched two of their descendants meet at a blind date thing as the wingman of each other's friends and hit it off.

Then they had a kid, and that was Francis, cursed with two sets of great spirit ancestors...whom he could hear arguing all through childhood. He was put on happy drugs and given too much therapy. Now his parents and his psychiatrist have weaned him off the drugs and he can hear his ancestors arguing again. They can only agree on two things; one is that the Demon Lord is rising again.

The other is that Francis is never going to get fucking laid.

Even at band camp.

Which is pathetic.

Skills: Average student, marching band member (drums) and all around dork. Will fill this out as we move further in.

Magic: Right now, he has two spirits arguing all the time. Will develop the abilities in line with the plot. Whatever Francis does, he's bound to disappoint someone-- including during the D&D games, where his ancestors get even more annoying than usual, crushing one of his few social pleasures. Gosh, being a teenager sucks.
