After a few hours had passed, out of nowhere there was a soft tapping upon Alex's door. It echoed gentle and polite.
A moment later, then again, slightly louder but still polite.
There was no third knock, instead a soft click as the door unlocked and slid open. A tall man slipped on in through the door, closing it behind him with a little nudge. The room instantly filled with sweet smell of syrup covered pancakes, bacon, eggs and the fresh aroma of a strongly percolated coffee.
Although his face was hidden behind a silver tray filled with all the goodness she could smell plus more, no other could even obtain a suit as sharp, sophisticated and as well fitted as Dorian.
Even his mannerism in movement was proper and eloquent, he strides towards her bedside, out of politeness and respect his gaze is kept towards her bedside table in the event that she was not prepared for guests.
Placing the marvellous tray down after some clever manoeuvring he then takes a seat on the lower end of her bedside where he speaks to her softly in a friendly tone she may not have heard from him before.
"I thought you could use something to eat." He says cheerfully as he reaches over to the silver platter and swipes up a shiny red apple. Still his gaze is averted but he does it in such a way that it seems natural.
"I'm sure you will find something there to your liking." As he speaks he removes something from within his jacket pocket. A book, it's condition indicates it is still new.
"Consider the food a bribe and an assist for the following request." He says as he hands over the book clearly labeled
'The Drug Hound'
"It is written by a regular guest of ours, Dr Cashino King, your homework is to read it."
And that was Dorians way of giving, by hiding it in such a manner that it seemed like he was the beneficiary or that you were doing something for him.
The juicy red apple crunches under his teeth as he takes a bite from it.
