Had this cloud-guider truly challenged him to single combat? For reasons, Jonathan could not seem to care of her request. He did not like where he was now, among these burning flames. This war-monger, this rabble-rouser dared to instigate something against him. He felt the anger rising in him, for how vain and presumptuous this girl was to sink to confrontation with him. She seemed so convinced that a fight was inevitable with him that she had already transformed herself into her battle suit. How vulgar it was, for her to wear a combat gi so mundane, so similar to that which those who were not great wore. Once he had retreated from challenges, but he was no longer that man, weakened by circumstances into a foul servile beast, and was now a great being. And yet, what did he gain from fighting. Nothing. Even worse, he had far more important things to do.

Both the cloud-guider and the space warrior would have to try a little harder if they really wanted to bar him from his noble path. There were many things for his self to discover. What the limitations, if any, of his powers, and what he had truly been made in to were the questions that plagued him. They were not questions that could be interrupted any longer, and they were more important than any hawkishness disguised as heroics. If they truly wanted to deal with him, they could go and follow him past his flames.

"Cloud-guider, let it be known and let it be clear, I take it upon myself with my own will to leave this crumbling inferno of flames that birthed our ascendancy. Out in the flames, peons take the lowly place that they have been ordained to occupy, and they die as they are consumed by the purifying flames. I can see it in both of your eyes, space warrior and cloud-guider, how you wish to denigrate yourself and enslave yourself to charity to those who are unworthy. If you truly care about my flames, than fight me and leave them to die in flames."

Flames came from Jonathan, from the palm of his very hands. They spurted about, reaching past him and going through everything in front of him. The flames did not aim for attack, but rather to close that path that his blast of fire had opened. Perhaps now he could finally have some peace from those fools.

Paused and slowly turned his head towards the speaker, noting the features quickly and swallowing lightly as he looked back into the distance. His mind was, in truth, awash with ideas and fears; Absolutely nothing about this was making sense to him. It defied all logic, it defied everything he knew about the world. Or at least all he thought he knew. After a few moments of silence he nodded slowly and opened his mouth to speak

"The feel of what?" Ross asked quietly as he tried to piece together exactly what had happened. Was he a ghost? If sox why could people still see him. Had this happened before or was it unprecedented? Surely it would be known if it had happened before!

Unless perhaps, it was lost to the pages of history as so much had been throughout history. Was this an extremely rare event that had never occurred in such a way to arouse suspicion before? Were there, in fact, the dead living amongst humanity, trying to disguise themselves and live their lives? Perhaps they would be found in insane asylums, this was certainly troubling.

"I am dead but... What has happened?" Ross spoke in a normal pitch this time, glancing over to Shadrach again as he furrowed his brow.

Darren stared blankly at the corpse on the ground before him for a bit, processing what he was looking at. Slowly anger began to build within him. Anger at the bus driver, anger at the passengers, anger at the College professors, anger at the Firefighters nearby. As this anger grew the air around him gained an orange hue which flickered like the flames engulfing the building around him. Filled with anger, Darren stood, tossing his discarded body across the room, which collided with a sickening crack, the half revealed bones cracking on impact. Raising one arm, the boy lifted his arm and punched the nearest wall, which burst outward from the force. Darren exited through his make-shift exit, orange aura still surrounding him.

Aleksa's cloud turned and lifted her away from the flames that had suddenly burst from the man's hands. "Okay that is definitely dangerous sir!" She yelled before being lowered to the ground again and jumping off the cloud. When Aleksa jumped landed she reached up and gripped the edge of the cloud and waited, as she gripped the cloud it began to wrap around her arm in a helix pattern which traveled along her left side in an entricate design.

She flopped Down in mid-air and landed on what seemed like an invisible chair, "wow that's a big fire wall, I wonder..." she said and floated up to a wall of fire and placed a hand on it. When she pushed against the fire it rippled then dispersed in a dimunitve plume of smoke that wafted up into the air before completely disappearing. She hovered through the opening and landed on a piece of metal that had began to crumble and blow away like dust. "What should I do now?" She asked herself as she laid back in the air and was held up by a puff of cloud that extended from her body.

"Away from me, cloud-rider. Cease your prattling, and tell me what is you care more for," Jonathan said. "Barring my escape or saving those drudges who you value so much."

As the cloud-rider used her own power to make his own power vanish before his eyes, he felt only the feeling of annoyance. If she had some great wish to follow him and fight him, he would be forced to comply. He was no longer the coward he once was, for now he was a great and powerful being, but right now his purpose was to find the essence of what that powerful and great being was. What he was, and what he planned to do. He kept his back turned and continued to press on towards an exit that he had made.

The boy awakened. The cocoon he was originally covered in had shedded away, leaving nothing but dead matter amongst the vibrant life of both beautiful and deadly plants alike. His eyes felt alive, they felt real in every shape and form. His body was shuddering as he let out a very distinct chortle. Laughter from this youth was never quite the same as the one escaping his mouth. It became longer, and accentuated as he put emphasis on the giggle. Mysterious was an adjective that could be best used to describe his laugh while it became obscurely representational of the change that he underwent after leaving behind his mortal life. This metamorphosis could either be very positive, or strikingly negative. Nonetheless, he decided to stand up and smile at the lives he created. He bit his lip, tilting his head at the dead body in front of him. Suddenly he no longer cared for the reason why the person had died. He stopped worrying about whether or not he'd find a hospital or a police officer to inform of the corpse. Instead, he began to worry about the smoke he saw rising in the sky from the distant orange hue ahead.

The young man grasped the wallet he pocketed from the body behind him and shoved it into his back pocket. A small sunflower sprouted from the earth beneath him, pointing instead towards the warm glow when biologically it should've pointed towards the sun.

"Yes I know. I'm walking towards that way now. There's no need to tell me to go where I know I'm already going." He spoke to the sunflower next to him. It stood there, silent; its leaves blowing gently with the soft wind that pushed against the boy's skin. There were so many questions left unanswered in his head, but he decided it would be best to put them aside. For some reason he had a strange feeling in the back of his mind that these questions would be answered. How, he did not know, but when he felt would happen very soon. The ground began to almost sing as he walked, as if it were praising a higher being in its vicinity. Another strange chortle left his mouth, that one would daresay sounded well... insane. One step after another he inched closer to the warmth.

Footstep by footstep he finally reached the edge of the forest. He didn't take note of the oddly fallen trees that lined directly towards the dead body he woke up in front of earlier. This peculiar detail did not cross his mind until his eyes laid upon the debris of metal and other man-made materials scattered along the road. Anteriorly a wrecked petrol station was in flames and severely damaged from what seemed to be a wreckage between possibly some sort of collision with a large vehicle? It took the young man long enough to piece together what this meant. A bus crashed into a gas station. If he would've felt normal the scene would've been shocking and unbelievable. But something was different about him, and he knew it too. He didn't just cocoon in a mass of plants for nothing. He noted that it was most likely a subconscious metaphor for a change in him of some sorts. His mind tended to do that; be artsy and creative before he could even see it.

He stood there, staring at the accident with blank eyes. And then, a grin crossed his face as his mind was met by a bizarre idea.

Shadrach blinked at the middling man, head tilted in a pose only slightly less confused than the other speaker. "What's happened?" He shrugged with a little grimace. "Iunno. I just like to see things as they are, now that I can- Not feel, nah. Just... Be aware of the space that falls into my locus of perception, now that I don't have to watch the world from inside a braincase anymore. The sensation of everythingness." The viscerality of matter, he continued, in his head, but Shadrach had already trailed away from making a point and he knew it. It didn't matter much, though. He shot another backwards glance at the pale-haired teenager. The weapon he held was no less a proclamation of anger for the fact that he was facing away from Shadrach.

"Shit, I should've been looking," he muttered, still watching the sword. And why hadn't he been? With a touch of frustration at not having thought of it before, Shadrach opened his other eyes, the ones he'd not yet grown but never intended to close again. They scattered irregularly around his neck, his palms, the temples of his skull; They opened along his arms in long, thin slits, hinting at an eye much larger than could possibly fit in a human body. They stared. They felt comfortable. Perhaps he could have improved his visual awareness less conspicuously, but this did not occur to him.

The eyes helped delocalise his awareness from everything directly in front of his face, and the first thing that struck Shadrach was motion, off to one side. With all the ineptitude of a man who had never loved ballsports, he raised his arm to snatch the object upon landing, and with all the wasted power of an amateur god, his arm burst into fleshy red tendrils that caught the object like a net and dragged it near. Shadrach made a small 'mmph' sound when he realised it was just another soulless body, and his hand wrapped itself back up, rather deformed but still mostly human. Someone like him had thrown it before they left, leaving an untidy hole in a nearby building.

"Yeah, I think I'm out too," shrugged the young man, pulling the bones from the cadaver with a thought. He clattered them gently towards the tense guy with the sword to get his attention at a safe distance. "I'm off to find somewhere quiet. Come with, if you wanna chill down. And my name was Shadrach, if you want to know." Shadrach twisted gravity relative to himself and walked up the nearest office block in a blur of liquefied deity.

He wanted to see the stars come out.

Bones clattered around him. Whose bones? Actually, why were there bones anyway? Josh turned, swinging the sword backwards and over his shoulder, only to let it rest there.
"Shadrach, ay? Names Josh." he said, taking the blade and poking the nearest corpse with it. Then, before answering his question, he took the blade and swung it down on the bodies head, severing it from the torso. As it rolled away, it slowly turned to dust; just like the others.
"Well that was boring as hell. Christ, I was at least hoping for SOMETHING to happen then just the head disolving. Ah fuck it." he said, turning around and throwing the sword in front of Sadrach. He clicked his fingers and produced a small flame, only to do it once more and create a massive, blue flame in his hand. A little light. A fun light. A light to burn everything. He then took the flame and turned it into a small crystal ball. With the ball in hand he walked to Sadrach, giving a slight nod as he went.
"Yeah sure, I'll come with you." he said, tossing the glass behind him and slightly enjoying the sound of the flames licking and crackling; burning everything. Fun times. I wonder what I should do... he thought, spinning on an axis to take everything in. Picking the dice up, he rolled it. Numberless, again. In his hands another ball emerged, filled with strange purple energy. Throwing it to the ground, it spread outwards and around his legs, creating a type of purple boots. Jumping upwards, he went higher than he should have and underneath him a purple platform appeared, only to disappear when he next jumped. With this he followed the liquid Sadrach, rolling the dice as he went. When it landed on 1, he got a slight frown on his face as the blue flames beneath him spread outwards and encroached on the ambulance and civilians. Ah well, it wasn't his problem. Well, maybe it was. But that didn't matter as he created another blue crystal and threw it down to where the bus once was; igniting it and destroying what was left. I wonder if it'll be a clear sky tonight... he thought, jumping after the liquid God.

The strange boy watched as the two individuals flew off into the direction ahead. While they disappeared, the one with the strange dice sent a ravaging fire of blue flames and destruction to the ground beneath. The bus was incinerated, sending shrapnel of all kinds across the area. A lot of this shrapnel flew directly into remaining civilians, both injuring and killing a few. The blue flames emerging began to lick at the trees ahead. The lone man tilted his head at this, furrowing his eyebrows in a devilish pattern. What did this retreating person think would come out of the sudden immersion of blue flames? Life? He sighed and clicked his tongue three times in disagreement. With a whisk of his thin fingers, the young man pulled the blue flames from the area towards the middle of the road. With his other hand, he pulled the grass and branches of forest near him out into view. These two contrasting elements began spinning against one another in a tornado of earth and flames.

"Yes, perfect. Beautiful. Captivating!" The man shouted as the tornado split in two, forming a blue rage of air and a whip of earthy foliage. These two constructs began to scream and shriek as the air spun faster and faster. Beneath the swirling wind, feet began to appear. Two pairs; one made of cerulean fire and the other made of roots and greenery. These figures grew taller and taller, forming legs and chests and arms and even a head. Sprouts of flowers and leaves grew from the back of the earth formation, while the fire formation licked at the sky with sapphire light. The two figures roared at each other as if they were destined enemies. This made their creator grin from ear to ear. This is exactly what he wanted.

"I want a fair fight. Fire, no enveloping earth like you were doing before. That's seriously not cool. Let's see what earth can do when it's given pure power too." He spoke in a very curious manner while a large chair made of furry moss and oak formed behind him. He sat down, rocketing into the air as the roots of the seat lifted him up to get a better view of the battle that was about to be performed. A mushroom, green and oozing a purple secretion, sprouted from the armrest of the plant-like seat the powerful boy sat on. He plucked it off and swallowed it whole; his eyes then spinning in a wave of circles and violent colors as he chortled. Suddenly, the two beings clashed into each other. This force sent a wave of energy across the land around them, blowing the leaves off of trees and the beanie off of the young man's head. He laughed wickedly and clapped, as if this was one helluva' show.

"Again! Harder! Kill! Kill! Kill!" He screeched from his seat. He was making quite the unusual ruckus. The earth construct grabbed a tree and pulled it from its roots with ease. It then sent it flying towards the fire construct with a quickening speed. This was going to be extremely hectic, as the fire construct was already getting ready to send about four to five fireballs towards its opponent.

"Awww, come one you don't have to be so grumpy as i want to do is to be friends with somebody" Aleksa said as she used part of her cloud to support her body while she floated over to the man who was trying to walk away. "By the way my name is Aleksandra, Al-ek-san-dra" Aleksa said when she had gotten close enough "Not cloud guider or anything like that... so what's your name Mr. fire starter?" she asked while she lazily drifted beside him.

As Aleksa drifted the explosion of the bus sent shrapnel rocketing towards her but stopped when a tendril of glass shot out and blocked the slivers of metal projectiles. "wow that was a close one..... I think" she thought and let out a sigh. Aleksa waited for the man to reply while she dipped and spun on the cloud.

And so things had changed, the situation had been altered considerably, so that Jonathan had been actually surprised. He looked up towards the cloud-guider, who hovered over him. He stopped his movement, and allowed himself to put himself at rest. How surprising that she had not had any true hostility, and wished to extend her hand to partake in some sort of cordial behavior. Rather, it was expected that she would wish to take her powers to her limit, and test the extend to which she could partake in expending her destructive power. Heroes were always the ones who preached of pacifism and love, and yet their turbulent nature led them to seek the opposite, as heroes always seek lovers whose lives lead to turbulence and who always seek to fight any that they are allowed to fight. Cloud-guider would be like that eventually, as she, like all heroes, embraced the deprecating practice of protecting the weak. It was the strong who ruled, and the weak should willing die for the strong. The cloud-guider should accept the reality of the universe, but heroes always had tried to subvert natural law.

The Cloud-Guider had said that her name was Aleksandra. She had gotten quite close to him, and did have any guard up. Yet it was not necessary for her to have her guard up, for beings such as them did not need it. He could feel just how similar the two of them were, and yet they were fundamentally different. They were all fundamentally different. Jonathan would give all the due that was necessary to give a being which was like him, but he did not see her as an equal. No, he could not see anyone who was not quite like him as an equal.

"My name is Jonathan," he said. "That was my first name. It remains so at the moment, and yet that name is unfit for the road of glory. You will need a new name as well in order to realize that inside, and yet I know you will not."

Strangely, in spite of everything that had just happened, Ross felt rather compelled to follow this 'Shadrach.' Perhaps he knew more than he was letting on. Or perhaps he was simply barking mad. To be truthful, he wasn't entirely sure that he trusted him as he was certainly rathe mad... Though death would probably do that

"I am pleased to- Make your acquaintance. I am, or perhaps more accurately was, Doctor Ross." Ross replied, slowly following after him as he glanced down to his watch and read the time of it. He sighed weakly as he realised that, at about this time, he would have been teaching an English Class a- He wondered whether Mrs Henderson had taken over the class in his absence? Or perhaps they hadn't yet heard at all, and in fact thought him uncharacteristically late. That was a rather discomforting thought; He knew his morning class all too well and was quite aware that in th absence of authority they devolved into hooliganism. He had made the mistake of leaving them alone for fifteen minutes at the becoming of term and when he returned found his folder superglued shut.

He was quite unable to supress a small chuckle; He was a ghost or something of the sort, had been looking at his body just a few minutes before and yet he was still thinking of his job.

His smile faded rather quickly as he realised precisely what his mind was attempting to do to cope with this stress. Part of him wanted to scream, another part wanted to launch into some kind of inane and angry rant- And above all he wanted to figure out what the hell had happened here. It was just- Wrong. And why did he feel more... Powerful. No, he didn't just feel he knew; He could tell that if he wanted to he could do such great thing... And such terrible things.

"This changes everything." He muttered aloud to himself as he furrowed his brow, looking to this 'Josh' for a moment. Everyone was taking this remarkably well, at least on the surface.
EDIT: Yeah, somehow my post got deleted when I sent it the first time. Apologies.

Shad's rapid vertical stroll came to an abrupt halt barely halfway up the office high-rise. He kicked off from the glass-and-concrete wall and lay there suspended, floating, staring at the pale-haired boy with some measure of incredulity as the world burned in iris blue below his back. "No chill at all, huh?" he commented aggressively as Josh raced upwards before him. "Do you not want to act quietly? Does peace offend you?" It was clear that it did, and he didn't; but the notion took Shadrach some time to process. He wasn't fond of rowdy people, even when he understood them.

Floating in midair was easy, but the feeling didn't appeal to Shadrach. He wanted to feel grounded, but he refused to go back down, and didn't want to return to the building Josh was climbing. Someone powerful was playing in the mess he had left, fuelling life into the fire and watching the resultant angels fight each other. The eyes on Shadrach's body spotted chunks of trees imbedded in the earthy one. Their screams and roars were bizarrely out of place in the street. Ross is still in there somewhere. I don't think he followed us... Either way, I'm not fetching him. I need to build my own ground to stand on.

And that he did. Reaching into the structure of the building with his newfound perception, he tore it open into a toothy triangular maw, using the steel bar and concrete residue to build a jagged tongue extending from the mouth of the block into the air for himself to stand on. He spoke without turning to face Josh. "If you're going to stargaze, do it. If you're going to break shit, do it somewhere else." He stopped talking, and the three-jawed mouth of the building rumbled for a moment, then vomited a hefty wave of snow and crumbling dry-ice onto the quarrelling behemoths below. Not nearly enough to extinguish the blazing one; Shad didn't have time to do it properly. But the fire would stop spreading. And maybe that would calm down whoever was down there.

"...I'm gonna go do my own thing a while," mumbled Shadrach, feeling a little overwhelmed. Below him, the ruinous tongue tensed and flew forwards, growing longer and longer and carrying him with it as it went. Some two hundred metres away its growth paused and it flicked him upwards onto the extendable roof of an empty sports arena before collapsing, lifeless, into chunks of glass and cement in the street.

Everyone's breaking things, or just making things that break one another. He sighed, closing some of his eyes. That's all anyone ever did for all of history. Even now. Even when we have a chance to make something great. Someone made a forest out there before Josh set it ablaze, a forest! Shadrach remembered something his father had showed him how to do, long ago, by stitching a fabric with threads in straight lines positioned just so, until they formed a curve between them. It was soothing, and though he'd never taken an interest in embroidery after that, Shad felt like it was a good time to start.

He closed his palms, and then opened them again, opened them until the flesh split to reveal tightly wound bundles of glowing threads in pastel colours, yellow and pink and cyan. Throwing himself from the roof and into the abandoned green of the arena, the glittering threads trailed after him, dividing and spreading and covering the rows of benches in close parallel streaks of light. Let's make something calming.

Roars from left and right rang in the boy's ears as the constructs swung to and fro. The fire fury was sent flying into the forest, knocking down a few unstable trees. It then flew forward so suddenly into the earth fury, leaving a trail of blue fire in its wake. The collision sent another shockwave of pure energy into the air, ringing loudly and destructively. Snow began to fall very suddenly for a brief moment, but the beings ignored this. As the two beings fought, the mad man stood up in his green seat and did an irish gig. His eyes were changing colors furiously; from red, to green, to blue, to yellow, and all the way around the color spectrum. The psychoactive ingredients in the mushroom were kicking in. He was seeing things of great awe and exhilaration. Was he going insane? Or was he already insane?

He pointed his finger at the overgrown flame. With a flash of light, it sizzled and disappeared in a swell of blue smoke. The earth elemental groaned in a very gentle way when its eyes linked with its creator's. It had found its new master, a being of higher power and intelligence that was ready for following and worship. The trent-like being creaked its way towards its god and smiled passionately. The young man couldn't help but feel content and warm. The trent was becoming almost a child to him. His hand went out towards the earthy being as another grin, this time much more kind and soft, crept across his pale lips. The trent rubbed its wooden face against his palm and grunted in comfort.

With a jump, the boy landed on the trent's shoulder.

"What shall your name be?" He spoke softly while kicking his legs to and fro. The trent groaned with a very aged smile. You could most definitely sense the wisdom in its hollow eyes.

An idea had appeared in his mind. "I'll name you... Wormwood.

"Let's go somewhere. You're cool. To be honest I like you... you have like a really nice aura. It's pleasing. Take me to somewhere far. Somewhere peaceful... somewhere I can make mine in this place. I can feel it you know. Something has changed. I can't tell if I have, or if quite possibly the world has changed instead. I feel powerful. Strong. Able. I feel warm and I feel cold at the same time. I can do whatever I want. Literally... anything. Am I unstoppable? Oh my god. I still don't even know my name. So many questions to answer... but so many games to play too. Right?" He spoke to the trent. Wormwood took one look at his master, smiled, and grunted.

"True." He whispered to Wormwood. And just like that, they began to move towards the forest. But something stopped the two in their tracks. The kid felt a very strong presence, more than one presence even. With a furrow of his eyebrows, he began to sniff the air like an estranged animal. It was now his goal to find whoever was near.

Darren, by chance, turned to a nearby patch of woods to catch a glimpse of a guy riding a construct of some sort. The guy looked, no, felt similar to himself in a way that was beyond him at this point. This was the first person nearby who had felt normal. Everybody else had felt like puppets being pulled by invisible strings. Something about the thought of another like him, who had died, calmed him somewhat. With a swift motion of his hand, he raised a chunk of earth from the ground and caused it to hover. Jumping onto it, he guided it toward the guy on his golem, shouting a slightly rage-filled greeting.

Ross paused for a moment, clearing his head and thinking; Not, this time, on what had happened but rather on what should happen next.

He was dead, that much was indisputable, but it appeared he had been transformed, along with the other individuals involved in the crash, into something distinctly paranormal. That they had just displayed this to the world at large would no doubt have major repercussions and frankly he wasn't sure whether he could be killed a second time or not.

And... He glanced down to his hand and slipped the small golden ring off his finger, sliding it into his pocket with a small sigh. Frankly, he didn't want his children to be "the kids with the ghost dad"; They had been through enough dealing with the headmaster being their father. Humans have historically rejected things they didn't understand.

He cursed himself quietly under his breath: if he had acted sooner, if he had just disposed of his own body then he could have easily acted as though he had survived, especially as people had initially been distracted by what the others had been doing, especially that cosplayer or whatever they called them these days. But now he'd have to make do.

He turned right and headed down the street, looking uncharacteristically nervous as he opened the door to the supermarket and stepped inside. He glanced up to the signs, running his eyes along them before walking slowly through the aisles, keeping his eyes peeled.

It wasn't long until he found the sign indicating the restroom. He opened the door and stepped inside, noting a glum looking man inside washing his hands. The man looked up at him and from the look, Ross could tell that he must have been in quite the state. He pretended not to notice and went over to the cubicle, stepping inside and picking it.

He waited as the man dried his hands and listened for the door, unlocking the cubicle only once he was certain the man had left. He approached the mirror and looked at his reflection.

He really did look a mess.

His hair was no longer in the neatly combed state it had left home in, he had several small cuts across his cheek and his nose seemed crooked. He stared at himself for several moments as he gathered himself together and shook his head.

Thankfully, he didn't appear to have his brain leaking from his skull, so that at least was a start. Yet he felt as if...

He paused again and focused hard; Sure enough, he found that he could. Slowly, his white hair darkened and the cuts along his cheek sealed up; The wrinkles on his flesh slowly faded away into nothingness and his face slimed slightly. Finally, it was complete and... Oh, it was as if he had turned the clock back to the time when he had started his doctorate!

Ross couldn't help but smile at the rather charming (if he did say so himself) reflection. He by no means considered himself to be a vain man, but it was nice to see his younger self again.

Perhaps... Too young.

He paused and focused again. Once more, his face began to morph, putting on a decade and a half; A few wrinkles graced his face again and his hair became flecked with silver.

That would make him a lot harder to recognise, for the layman at least. He was dead. He didn't want to attract undue attention, so it made far more sense to change his appearance. Perhaps at a later date he'd do something more dramatic, but for now he felt changing his age would be enough.

Ross turned towards the door of the bathroom and reached out to open it, but stopped short. Strange, something was telling him- No, he felt something inside- Or did he just know? Whatever the case, he paused and concentrated again on the door, waiting for several seconds before opening it and revealing a purple void where the supermarket should have been.

Oh, yes, now he understood...

"Nice to meet you Mr.Jonathan but what do you mean I need a new name?" Aleksa asked "personally I like my name, it doesn't make me sound like goody two shoes or a completely bad person but.....well never mind that what would your new name be?". Aleksa's cloud moved until it rested above Jonathan and began to become as clear as glass which the light passed through onto him. She rested her whole weight on the almost translucent cloud but it neither dipped nor pushed back against her, "a his is easily the best thing I have ever made" Aleksa said to herself as she stared intently at Jonathan.

“And what is in a name?” Jonathan said. “There is much that is in a name. You somehow cannot see it, in your attachment to your old life. You wish to remain attached to your life and your old name, but nothing you have done in your life can compare to what we can do now. So throw it away, I say. When you here the names of Christ, Zeus, and Shiva, you know in their names is infinite glory. With such power in our hands now, having been resurrected from the dead and leaving behind doppelganger dolls, who is to say that we are not deserving of the same glory? Only a superior being to us would have that authority, and we all know that such a being cannot possibly exist. So I say to you, Aleksandra, I cannot bear keeping my own name, so associated with my time as a servile slave to society. I do not know what my new name will be, but it will be a name that the multitudes will know and learn to live in fear and awe of. When I was alive the first time, I was but a slave of those above me. I had no authority, living in fear of retaliation of those above me. A coward and a fool, I deserved to be treated like dirt and thus was. We all have our place in the world, and I was right where I belonged, but finally I have arisen! I will never be treated like that again!”

Jonathan seemed to be figuring out what he was simply by speaking to another one of him, and seemed to figuring it out, or at least figuring out what his answer to the question would be. However, even for Jonathan, accepting the position of being a divine would take some time. There continued to be sounds from beyond him and the girl, and it seemed to be getting even more rowdy. Jonathan could not imagine being able to contain all of it, no matter how great he felt about his ascendency.

“If you truly wish to speak with me, follow me out of here,” Jonathan said. “It seems that our kindred have decided to break all hell. I can hear it even all the way out here. Since I see no chance in myself even now being able to stop it, I would best get out of here. This place is on fire, and it is no place that I would stay.”
