April 14th, 2109: A man affected by PTSD attacks civilians using hand and teeth in Lenox, Rhode Island.
April 21st, 2109: A rabid herd of deer terrorize Chinook, Montana, a farming community. Deer reported to eat livestock.
April 23rd, 2109: Deer threat ended, weird mutations in genes reported.
April 25th, 2109: Acidic corn slowly kills farmer and entire family during dinner in Chinook, Montana.
May 3rd, 2109: Military reported to burn down random areas in Lenox, Rhode Island.

July 5th, 2109: Tucson begins evacuation as fire spreads, and rioting continues.
July 6th, 2109: Gas line erupts, collapsing a mall being used as an evacuation point. Hundreds killed.

Roleplay Rules

• Respect your GM: I will do my best to respect you, your feelings, and your opinions as long as you respect me, and the fact that this is my world. I do highly value opinions and ideas, and love when players help me expand, but this is not grounds to endlessly argue you point or go off on a tiff and try to get your way. I accept critique and input as long as it is done with relative courtesy. Also note, I reserve the right to change my mind.
  
• Big Events: I know I said do whatever you want, whenever you want but please keep in mind that I have my own plots, and other people will have their own plots too. If you are starting a big event, let me know. I will inform you if it is going to clash with something I, or somebody else has planned. This is only for events that follow the same principle, or basically the same thing, events that aren't so alike create interesting tension, and are permissible. I'm just trying to prevent "Oh, well I did this first." This is also to prevent conflicts with unrevealed lore.
  
• Consistency and Realism: I try to incorporate a measure of depth and realism in a world filled with terrible mutants and the undead. Please try to maintain a level of realism, though if for the purpose of comic relief, certain things can be overlooked. Situations I do not like are characters magically stumbling upon what they need. Please try to make it believable. Nobody left their fully loaded assault rifle on the road because your handgun just happened to run out of ammo and there just happens to be a horde of ghouls chasing you.
  
• ESRB Couldn't Rate Me: [TRIGGER WARNING] I am prone to using gore, heavy violence, trauma, taboo, drugs, alcohol, language, offensive everything, and other mature themes. I do not shy away from a characterss "Assets" and will vaguely describe them, in a not adult-oriented way. (IE: "Curvy Breasts" "Plump Rump" "Nice Ass.") Additionally, the world is not a nice place, no matter how much you want it to be. Children are not exempt from the horrors of the world, and while I will try not to be heavy on the gore, violence, and other such dark things, there will be some details and other dark, horrible implications. I will likely write something that offends you. If something I write offends you, I honestly, Truly, WHOLEHEARTEDLY, do not care. Just because I write it, does not mean it reflects my values or beliefs. If it is a legitimate concern, then I do, in fact, care and you are more than welcome to bring it to my attention and I will do my best to resolve it.
  
• Post Order: This roleplay does not use the Turn-by-Turn system. Here, we go Day-By-Day (or Morning-to-Morning). Users are allowed to post as much as they like, or as much as needed. At the end of the posting cycle, once everyone has concluded for the night, or a plot has reached the next morning (6 a.m) STOP. The next day does not begin until I say so. I still expect posts at least once every two weeks at a bare minimum. Extensions are permissible, but "Life" is not always an excuse, I have a busy life too. If you hold us up for too long and prevent us from advancing days, I will leave you behind. Lastly, please make us aware when your posting cycle is concluded, though I will typically ask. When it comes to Time Skips, I will try to give as much advancement as I can on the desire to do so. However, a large majority of us must agree to it, and be ready. If It's a 8/10 vote then the other people have to be flexible and roll with it.

Brief Overview of Technological Advancements

Weaponry:

• Ballistics: Handguns, Rifles, and Shotguns are extremely common among the normal populace. Automatic Weapons are much less common among the normal populace. Heavy Ordinance, Explosives, and Military Grade equipment are extremely rare, ask the GM for a permit before acquiring.
• Lasers: Does not exist for conventional weaponry. However, the technology exists widely as a utility, such as small laser cutters no larger than a pen, or as human recognition interfaces.
• Plasma: Does not exist for conventional weaponry. However, the technology exists typically for industry and manufacturing in the form of high temperature plasma welding, or cutting.

Energy:

• Solar: Panels that collect solar energy have widespread use among homes and business, but have no been applied to luxury vehicles. Some work trucks and military vehicles use solar technology, but cannot run off of it solely.
• Hydro-Electric: Turbine spun by the underwater currents of the ocean, or the rise and pull of the tide. Large underwater plants with hundreds of these turbines exist.
• Power Plants: Electricity created through nuclear energy, methane, natural gas, coal, oil, etc, that turns water into steam and turns turbines. Still the most widely used form of energy creation.
• Wind Turbines: A widely used form of electricity generation, however, the energy production is very low, requiring hundreds of wind turbines to effectively create power. Residential home systems are not uncommon, needing only one or two turbines in the appropriate area and a battery system if they are living off the grid.

Robotics and Automation:

• Home A.I: Basically "Siri" for your house, expensive and uncommon. Can do things like turn on lights, the stove, lock your door, etc. Can be personalized with names, personalities, voices, take notes, remind you of things, etc. Like I said, basically "Siri", but smarter and less Sassy.
• Security: No laser-defense grids for your lawn, unfortunately. But many houses have converted to electronic locks on doors, windows, and storage containers. Not the most complex security systems, but effective. Most require a fingerprint, Identification code, or a full body laser recognition scan. These homes also come with very loud alarms. Conventional locks are also just as common.
• Robots: Very rare and not used by the public, not since the "Personal Butler Uprising". However, large areas of manufacturing are automated and are overseen by a team of technicians and an overseer.
• Cybernetics: Advancements here have led to a fully functional robotic limb, for those who have lost their biological ones. The Functionality can be anywhere from 50% to 99%, and maintenance and care depend on the quality of the mechanical limb. Because of the complexity of these limbs, they were unable to incorporate weaponry, or give "over performance"; No super-human strength in your mechanical arm or leg, sorry kids.

Genomics and Medicine:

• Superficial Regrowth: It's as common as having a box of band-aids in you're cabinet. The ability to quickly heal and mend superficial wounds, such as shallow cuts, first degree burns, sunburns, and other mostly mildly annoying wounds. Usually in the form of a patch like band-aid, the healing process takes a matter of hours, rather than days. These patches usually include an antiseptic to fight infection.
• Compound Pills: These are pretty much how they sound, a medicinal "super pill". Now in a variety of vivid colors. The compound pills, while multi-ranged to fight an assortment of things, are usually geared towards certain ends of the medicinal spectrum. One may update all of your vaccines for the year, another may boost your immune system and that fun stuff to help prevent illness, others may be a specific blend of things for specifics operations. In example; A compound pill could include a combination of pain killers, antibiotics, coagulants, dampeners, and etc, for an amputation or open heart surgery. Unfortunately these are uncommon and pretty expensive.
• Imagery: The enormous and bulky imaging devices for cat-scans and x-rays are a thing of the past. Now the size of an average gaming console, yet looking like a laptop, these devices can be used for imaging on the fly. Typically these large laptop-esque devices contain a screen, for viewing, and a wand no larger than a bottle of water that has a large lens on the end.
• Modification: With the fluctuation of the fads, there has always been that one weird kind in an animal costume. Well now you can have lifelike cross-species parts. Ears, Tails, Fangs, Whiskers, if it exists on an animal you can probably get something akin to it. However, getting the real bio-engineered deal is super expensive, with all the cloning and nerve connecting. For the less rich, they can get mechanical implants that read neural signals, and aren't so pricey that everybody's daughter doesn't have something.

The Undead and Observed Variations

A Brief Overview:
Referred to commonly as "Ghouls" and "Runners", these creatures are previously deceased human beings, and have abyssal black eyes. The mysterious Blackwater virus has evolved to reanimated human cadavers and turn them into blood thirsty monsters of the night. During the daylight hours, typically from 6:00 a.m in the morning, when the sun is rising and the sky is blue gray, they will retreat indoors and await nightfall. It is unknown if Sunlight does anything to them, exposure to the Sun does not seems to effect them at all. During the night hours, they will return to the outside world and hunt anything that lives. They will wander aimlessly, often looking up at the sky for unknown reasons, slowly and without purpose. They seem to have excellent hearing, and will investigate the source of any noise they hear, slowly in somewhat of a shamble. It is only upon actually sighting prey, that they will sprint as fast as any average person. They will lose interest upon losing their target for a handful of minutes, and will go back to wandering around and staring at the sky. There is no obvious sign of decomposition, and it should not be assumed you can wait it out. This threat is here to stay. They are attracted through Noise, Light, Movement.

Variations:

• "Sprinters": Faster than your average ghoul, and can easily outrun an average person, but much weaker. These ghouls are thinner, and lankier. They are attracted through Noise, Light, and Movement.
• "Berserkers": Stronger than your average ghoul, and can tear down most fortifications, but much slower. These ghouls are taller, and appear muscular. They are attracted through Noise, Light, and Movement, and attack in a wild, relentless rage.
• "Stalkers": These are quadrupedal ghouls, and are faster than your average ghoul, but slower than a Sprinter. These ghouls will not immediately show themselves, and will stalk their target until an opportunity to attack their prey presents itself. They typically hide, and will see you before you see them, though they make an audible "clicking" noise when stalking, used as a fear tactic. Stalkers have also been known to hunt in packs, or alone. They are attracted through Noise, Light, Movement, and Scent. They can smell a target up to half a mile away in good conditions and clear weather. They are also able to crawl upon any surface.
• "Specters": Incredibly rare and extremely dangerous. Specters are a ghoul but with most of the flesh and muscle sucked back tightly against their skeletal structure, and with skin black in color. Their eyes are completely pale white. Not a lot is known about them, but they seem to be quite intelligent. They are not aimless, but rather slow and deliberate in their movements unless motivated to move faster, to which they can then reach speeds as fast as a Sprinter. They are however, not particularly strong. They are able to emit a screech loud enough to draw nearby ghouls in approximately a two mile radius, though it does not have any effect on Human Beings, other than being quite loud. It has been reported that Specters are able to solve complex puzzles with enough time. They are attracted through Noise, Light, and Movement. They are also known to be exceptionally intelligent, and have more than adequate senses.

Sixth Street and Fairway Drive

On the crossroads of Sixth Street and Fairway Drive, a military force has set up shop. The main school area is for military use only, and they don't quite have the supplies to aid other survivors. However, there are plans to live an external building (a gym) fortified for survivor use during the night hours. I will be unlocked, and left out of military control other than refortifying it and unlocking it during the day. It's not to live in, only to seek shelter.

I plan to start the night leading up to day one. We will begin on day Eleven. Character Inventories are for the beginning of Day Eleven of the roleplay, and not the prelude. You do not have to do a prelude, but you may.

Appearance: Brown curly hair tucked under a dark toboggan hat. A brown wiry beard with a tan work coat, jeans, and work boots.

Biography: Lucien Anderson was born July 13, 2079 in the Wyoming countryside. His father was a rancher and his mother a real estate agent. He grew up outside of a small town that his father basically owned. Lucien had a fairly happy childhood, full of hunting and cowboys and Indians. As Lucien got older, he started to gain a love for his country he had never known before. He enlisted in the USMC in 2096 as a Military Police Officer. He served some time overseas in Africa looking over a U.S. relief base from African bandits and warlords. Lucien used his G.I. Bill to attend college while he served, graduating with a bachelor's in Criminal Justice in 2100. The Corps payed for his college in return for two extra years of service and he was deployed to the Caribbean to help U.S. allies defend against international pirates. They were the most action packed years of his enlistment, he finally left the Corps in 2102 at 23. He moved back home to attend The Montana Law Enforcement Academy to become a Game Warden. During his Warden training he fell in love with a girl from his hometown named Juliana Newton (No relation to Isaac Newton.) Lucien graduated from the academy in the spring of 2102. He married Juliana in August.

Now secured with a job, Lucien and Juliana wanted to start a family and they did. Just 3 months after they got married Juliana became pregnant with their daughter. Juliet was born February 1st, 2103. Lucien was the happiest he had ever been when Juliet was born and one could already tell he would make a good father. But that wasn't their last child, just 4 months later Juliana became pregnant again, this time with a boy. Their second and last child, Augustus, was born January 19th, 2104. They were two beautiful and bright children and Lucien loved them both. That's why the apocalypse was so much more of a nightmare for his family. The chaos, the death, the panic. Lucien had experienced something similar to this pandemonium in his time with the corps, but never on this scale, and never with children and worse, his own children. It was insanity, but he got his family out of town and on the highway, which as the days went by, became less and less populated. He was heading to his parents' ranch, which was well fortified and had plenty of food. But the monsters had gotten there before him. Many workers and field hands were dead when they arrived, but there were survivors. Lucien's mother was not among them. Apparently His father and the other surviving workers and field hands had barricaded themselves inside until the monstrosities had moved on. The next few days were depressing to say in the least, having to bury all the dead and try and salvage the slaughtered cattle those "ghouls" had helped themselves to. Not to mention repairs, all this work has been just enough to keep his mind off of his Mother's death. His family was safe for the most part and this ranch was very defend-able. There was nowhere to go but up, right?

There's an Extra "O" on Other Disabilities. Are you alright with changing "Several Boxes of Ammo" to "Three Boxes of Ammo (60)" The number in parenthesis is the total count of single bullets. I'm thinking in 20-round boxes, if you want four (or less) I'm fine with that.

Do note, we haven't picked a starting location yet, so you may need to edit some information or assuming whatever he deals with in Wyoming takes place during the first Eleven days, then be sure to have a reason to be where everybody else is. Alright?
