Omega Station - Near the Docking Bay

Ava Blake, Jess Corette, and Khali Patel

Crap! How did this turn out so bad?!” Yelled Jess, sounds of gunfire booming in both her right and left ears.

Don’t ask me - it was the Commander’s bright idea to take this mission.” Retorted Khali , a drone hovering over here as it sent a few missiles to the opposite direction.

Fucking shut up, will you? Who was I to know that this entire mission was a scam? That fucking Thala will pay for this!!” Roared Ava, her anger almost as explosive and livid as the crimson biotics shooting from her body, launching Black Dwarf Mercs all around as if they were rag dolls.

If only Ava could have spotted the signs - they were all there. From the suspicious, masked figure only to be addressed as Thala; to the uneasy feeling she got about the mission hearing - and all the way to how the Ambassador was looking at Ava and her then commanding officer. Everything about it was shady at best. The odd request from the council to go to Omega - a place where the Council literally had no authority in - and to retrieve some package. Ava didn’t know at the time, but when she got that promotion, that’s when shit began to get really, really complicated.

If only I knew then, I would have never..

I wonder why the Ambassador wanted to see us? Does it have something to do with the mission? I hope we didn‘t screw it up. Oh god, I bet we did, di-” Engineering Specialist, Khali Patel, was interrupted.

Please, Khali, for our sake, shut the fuck up.” Jessica Corette, the Gunnery Chief, said annoyingly.

Oh, I did it again didn’t I. Oh god, I’m so sorry--I’ll shut up now.

Good.” Jessica said, sounding relieved, “but you do bring up an interesting question - why were we called to meet with the Ambassador. We all know that the Ambassador hates us soldier types and the feeling is mutual.” Jessica said, explaining what they all knew, “what say you, Commander?” Jessica asked.

Hell if I know; these politicians can all kiss my ass for all I care!

Ah, the Commander of the Alpha Unit of the Dionysus: Ava Blake. She’s just as fierce and authoritative on the battlefield as she is in person - though, that’s just when she’s on official business aboard land. Still, she wasn’t one to shy away from saying whatever was on her mind. Sometimes that’s a good thing, but sometimes it bit her in the ass - hard.

As the elevator slowed it’s destination to the floor level of C-Sec, Ava couldn’t help but overhear the latest in Galactic News, but more importantly, that annoying-as-all-hell journalist, Trevor Smith. He had a way of getting on the wrong side to just about every single politician - and certain, foul-mouthed soldiers. Even so, he knew how to get the right story. That was something that Ava respected about him.

And so Trevor spoke:

In related news, it seems that the threat of Mercenary Groups are starting to increase. Recent attacks on surrounding systems show that a fifty percent increase of Merc-related activity. Just recently, The Lunar Wolf Mercenary Group attacked the Human-populated colony, Sanctuary. The colony was ransacked of most of their weapons, rations, and the most prominent figurehead, the president of Sanctuary - Allan Banks.” Trevor continued, “President Banks grew up on Earth. He had a father, a mother, and five siblings - and he was the youngest of them. His parents both served in the military and his older siblings did the same. When it came time for him to make a decision, he did so as well, but with the goal in mind to help people - and that’s where he found politics. Soon, after five years with the Alliance Navy, he joined an organization known as Kaizer, which is an organization that catered to helping every race - not just humans.” Trevor continued still, “he has a family - a wife and a daug--”

Before the rest of the story could be heard, the elevator doors opened and Ava led the other two out.

As they came to the view of C-Sec, they were met by a group of heavily-armed men. Each one of them well above six feet in height and all of them wearing identical dark blue combat armor with the emblem that simply had the image of a dragon on it(probably eastern and not western).

First Lieutenant Evangeline Blake, Engineering Specialist, Khali Patel, and Gunnery Chief, Jessica Corette - would you please follow us? We will take you to the Ambassador now.” The man in the center spoke. His voice sounded deep, but who knew with that helmet on. He could have some kind of voice modifier for all they knew.

What do we do?” Jessica asked, looking at both Khali and Ava.

I don’t like this, Ma‘am.” Jess worryingly said.

Ava looked to her two subordinates. “Stay close and keep your weapons ready. Even on the Citadel, danger is always lurking.” She whispered to them, “If they try anything, take defensive countermeasures.” She said quietly but firmly.

Both of them nodded and they followed Ava’s lead as the group of intimidating men led them to the Embassies.

Everyone seemed to know who the group of heavily-armored men that led the three ladies were except for them. Ava, Jess, and Khali saw everyone clear the way for the men as if they were a big deal. Why didn’t Ava know about them? And why were they such a big deal? Oh and another thing! Why were they allowed to have such obviously-illegal weaponry while soliders were limited to standard - and weak as fuck - weapons? None of this made any sense.

And then they came to a stop. Khali tried to peer above the tall frames of the men that surrounded them, hoping to get a view of what the reason was for the sudden stop of movement. Before Khali - or the other two knew it - the men stepped aside, which caused Khali to tumble a bit forward, her body almost falling face-first(yeah, she’s a bit of a klutz sometimes). As Khali’s dark brown eyes came to the view of the set of red high-tops that she saw, her eyes came to the view of a rather beautifully-intimidating women and a beautiful Hispanic woman with long, ebony-colored hair standing next to the female that the red high-tops belonged to.”

Oh-uh, I’m sorry,” And then Khali noticed who it was. “Oh, Ambassador! - and Captain Tomers!” Khali instantly perked up, saluting her captain and the Ambassador.

Jess simply looked to Ava.

Captian,” Ava said to the Hispanic women beside, “Caroline.” Ava said with an already-pissed off tone.

The Ambassador looked at Ava with a superior look in her eyes. “Lieutenant, glad to see you made it to my office.” She said laughing.

Well, when you bring the entire Fifth Fleet to greet us, not like I had any choice.” Ava sarcastically said.

The Ambassador laughed, “well, I was afraid that visiting me would be your first choice, given that you like to go to the clubs first - or how your Chief here likes to visit the casinos. Or would you rather let Khali go buy some - what were they called? - Hentai Comics?

HEY NOW! I--” Khali stopped herself after seeing the look on Ava's face. “I'll be quiet now.” Khali’s head went down.

Ava’s eyes went back in front of her. “So, want to tell us why you wanted to meet in person? My captain no doubt gave you how the mission went, so I don’t even have the slightest idea why we had to come on shore and meet.” Ava stated.

The Ambassador laughed and clapped. “You’re right about one thing; your captain did indeed tell me about your rather successful mission - and how you were able to eliminate three whole platoons of Biotic Radicals. In fact, rumor has it that, while your squad was tending to rabid Varren, you single-handedly tore apart their defenses with your biotic alone. Even more impressively, you did as such without even so much as getting a scratch on your body or your armor.” The Ambassador said, smiling as she approached Ava. “Which is why we’re going to nominate you as possibly becoming a Spectre.

With a gasp from Khali and Jess, Ava looked at the Ambassador with a suspicious expression. Her eyebrows were furrowed. Ava didn’t know what Caroline’s angle was. Was she actually sincere or was there a hidden motive behind it? Ava couldn’t tell; politicians were always scheming something.

Captain, tell me for real: is this offer legit?” Ava asked her captain.

Lieu--
Of course it is, Lieutenant Ava Blake.” Said a voice reminiscent of an English male from Earth as it interrupted Captain Tomers, but it had a bit of a rough edge to it.

Ava and everyone else turned to look at him. As they viewed him, all they saw was a man dressed in a rather awkward red and black garb that gave Ava, Jess, and Khali vibes of the an assassin - or at least someone of the like.

Thala, - what are you doing here!?” Captain Tomers asked in a raised voice.

Please Michelle, there is no reason to raise your voice.” Thala calmly said, arms lowering as if to gesture Captain Tomers to lower the volume of her voice. “I assure you, I’m not here to cause you trouble.

But why are you here? Haven't we suffered enough due to your organization's meddling with my husband's transgressions” Michelle asked almost protectively.

Ah yes, Howard - that was unfortunate to find out what he was doing, but that is not why I'm here.” Thala looked to the Ambassador. "Isn't that right, Caroline?"

Caroline, do you know something you didn't tell me?” Michelle said, eyes to Caroline.

Thala here is a representative of the organization simply known as The Saints of Prosperity - and Thala here is here to recruit you, Ava.“ Caroline said, her eyes wide with excitement about the situation and a smile that was happy on the outside, but veiled with so many vile intentions that Ava could see through it clearly, “so what do you say?
