Hey Nex, here's a fun fact for you: politics =/= fulfilling the needs of the people. Not in this day and age, nor has it been the case for many decades. Focusing on politics rather than their elected duty to fulfill the needs of their people is what causes politicians to become heaping sacks of shit who vote based on the wishes of their corporate sponsors rather than the people who elected them. Not giving a fuck about detractors is one thing, but that doesn't automatically mean someone's a gutsy politician who's doing what's right despite the hate; sometimes it means they're ignoring the wishes and needs of their people for their own personal agenda, and that's quite the opposite of what they should be doing even by your own definition of what matters for a politician.
Ignoring the wishes of the people is not always a bad thing. 'The people' rarely know what's best for them. That's beside the point, though.
Christie's character is being targeted for the least specific trait that someone's character could possibly be targeted for, and the motives behind the attack are pre-emptive. That was established by mdk. I was just adding that the trait the attack is claiming Christie has isn't even necessarily a bad one for a politician (especially a President) to have.
