"Yeah," Drake said. She'd caught him off guard, but he tried not to show it. "Water treatment facility. All of the heat and humidity is good for the eggs and hive. However, I've found something that isn't on the public record." He pulled up the facility's schematics. "A mile underground... it's a goddamn research facility. Wey-Yu was studying them. I guess there is a God."

[Angel Vicky]

"That really doesn't surprise me. This company has always had a God complex. Trying to control what they cannot." Varia sighed. "They wanted me to salvage what I could. Even told me to bring an egg back can you believe it?" She told him as she studied the schematic. "Do you think we could make it down there and destroy their research 'accidentally'?" She asked the sergeant with a mischievous smile. No way in hell was she getting 'impregnated' by one the Xenos and took back to earth in a chryotube.

"Sounds like Wey-Yu." Drake ignored what she had said about working for the company. "We can probably go down there when we get reinforcements." He synced the map to his datapad, before sending the map to the men's helmets, as well as the Autumn. He sighed. "Get some sleep, Private. Or do you want to volunteer for sentry duty right now?"

"Yes I'll take over sentry duty, you get some rest. We need our fearless leader at his best, now don't we?" She chuckled as she took over command of the console. She just wanted this mission to be over already. But for now she was stuck here and tried to make light of the situation best she could. Even though she was terrified inside. Her comrades were sleeping and even snoring their heads off. How could they do that right now?

Drake went to his cot and laid down. Despite his relatively short time in service, he had quickly learned that it was a good idea to grab sleep whenever and wherever you could. He was asleep before his head hit the pillow.

Wyvern examined the humans' perimeter. The motion detectors they used were infrared-based, so he was easily able to avoid them. He couldn't get in without being noticed, but a serpent could.

As Varia tinkered with the system, she spotted several conduits along the way to the research facility that were out of power that may give them trouble later on. She begins to hack into the system to divert power from areas that didn't need it, to the terminals that needed to be powered. Otherwise they might find themselves unable to bypass the simplest of doorways. How everything should be electronically controlled without any manual override back up was beyond her.

The sound of the autoturrets firing caused Drake to snap awake, drawing his pistol. The Sergeant clipped his comm headset on. "Report."

"Turrets shot at a Xeno, sir," the Corporal on the other end reported. "Missed though. It was damn fast. Must have been a Scout or a Runner." Drake sighed.

"Stay on your toes," said Drake.

Moonscar felt the bullets whiz past her body. She was testing their perimeter, trying to find the soft spots she could get in to.

It was when varia was reading the latest journal entry of the computer when the turret gun sounded, it made her jump out of her skin. As what she was reading sent chills down her spine...

"Dr kenna entry log 2312.

This is gonna sound crazy but there are these things out there. Not xenos, they're invisible. We can't see them, only what they kill. Which is everything, human, xeno - it doesn't matter. As we speak the xenos seem to be attacking ghosts. Our sensors can't even detect them. They could be anywhere, they could be right behind me as I write this."

And the gun turret that went off suddenly, varia thought it could be these invisible enemies. Her heart raced. "Drake, I mean Sir, you should read this..." She points to the journal with concern.

Drake read the journal, frowning. "Damn," he growled. "Ghosts can't kill people. And as far as I know, humans have never been able to achieve much success with active camouflage technology." He bit his lip. "However, since I've seen my share of weird shit as a Colonial Marine, I wouldn't be surprised if we've come in contact with an alien species with better tech than we have."

Varia shuddered at the thought. "So how are we going to detect these things around here? Do we rely on using the Xenos as bait or extra senses that we may need?" Although they'd never been successful in taming the xenos. Perhaps a mutual enemy either way may bring some way to work together just to survive. Varia sighed and put her head in one hand. "This is ALL we need..."

[Jurassic Weeb]

Drake pulled up footage of the attack. "Hold it," he said. "See that guy? The poor bastard on the left? Whatever it is is completely ignoring him to take out the guards and androids. Until..." The scientist grabbed the closest item-- a scalpel, and jumped on "its" back. Yellowish blood spurted, and the tech was hurled across the room like a rag doll.

Varia squints her eyes upon seeing the footage. "I've never seen anything like THAT before..." She shook her head at the sight. "Yellow blood? How odd." She peered into the screen pensively.

"Not human, and not Xeno," Drake said. "I've heard rumors of other alien species. There was the Prometheus incident back in 2093. Incidents in the late 1900's and early 2000's. More recent ones too."

[Angel Vicky]

"Then if its not either of those things. Then what IS it?" Varia asked the sergeant. "And more importantly...where is it?" She narrowed her eyes at the screen. He could be ANYWHERE.

[Jurassic Weeb]

"The hell would I know?" Drake said. "I'm a grunt with a gun. I get paid to follow orders, shoot shit, and boss your asses around." He chuckled. "But its camouflage makes it invisible to the spectrum of light that humans see. Change the spectrum, and maybe we can get an edge on the bastards."

[Angel Vicky]

"You know." Varia stood upfrom the seat at the console. "With all due respect Sir...dont you ever wonder about things - these missions?" She asked with a raised eyebrow. "If you keep blindly following orders without thinking why its happening, you may just end up dead and you'll never even know what you were fighting for." She pointed out with a concerned expression. "So what ARE you fighting for? Not just because you're paid to. WHY are you HERE, Sergeant?"

"We all have our reasons, Crest. But mine are my own. It's not as simple as revenge, or adrenaline."

[Angel Vicky]

"I hope those reasons comfort you when that thing is ripping out your eyeballs." Varia grimaced and turned around to walk away to the other side of the room. At least she knew it was all for the greater good and that comforted her if she died for the cause of scientific discovery and human advancement. It was so much more bigger than her own existence.

Drake let out a sigh. He had his reason. God knew he had a reason. He wasn't about to just spill it to a Private, especially one that had just transferred to his squad. She would have to earn that.

Varia goes to the door to put her ear up against it. She couldn't hear anything. Was anything out there? She couldnt tell. But the cameras wer now useless against the invisible one.

Suddenly there was a bang against the door and she screamed thinking it was going to be an alien but it was a group of people on the other side. "Let us in!" It was some PMCs sent in by Wey-Yu. On a completely different order and separate to them. The Sarge was not going to like this one bit. Now he would have to butt heads with whoever was in charge of their squadron for supreme leadership over the groups here.

But Varia looked back at Drake to await his order to let them in. She wasnt going to jsut trust anyone's words.
