50 years ago Jorjalla Kaas, a hyperspace scout working for the Republic, came across a new world while looking for new routes into Imperial space. Far on the our rim, this world was untouched by the Galaxy he knew, and was unaffected by the constant battles between the Jedi and Sith that had torn the Galaxy apart several times throughout history and was doing so even then. Not wanting this world and its billions of people to become pawns in the current war, he hid his ship and became one of the people of that world, called Earth.
Going by the name to Gorge Lucas and selling a piece of scrap from his ship to a manufacturer for money, he decided to live his dream by become a holo-drama producer or, this world's nearest equivalent, a movie director. He went to film school and, for his first project, recreated one of the legends he grew up hearing, that of the Imperial war which split them from the Republic. While not entirely historically accurate, he believed it to be true to the source material.
A few months ago, however, another scout, in an attempt to find out what happened to him and to complete his mission, also found the world. Both the Republic and the Sith Confederacy (what the Empire developed into after a few hundred years) learned about it and began sending ships.
They sold technology to the various tech companies around the world and used the money to set up bases in every major city, attempting to gain the support of the people on this newly discovered world. Finding that most of the people of this world had some degree of Force Sensitivity, likely the result of those strong in the Force not being constantly removed from the gene pool, they began training people in its use, even going so far as to post sample courses online.
While it had a massive effect on the way humans looked at themselves and the galaxy, as it was proof of alien life, the civil unrest that that discovery caused lasted only a few weeks.
We are simply modern people who are dealing with this massive change in the way the world is. Or, we can be those sent here to deal with the locals.
I will be a leader of the Sith Populist Party, a political organization which came here to try to convince the people of our political views. I'll need a co-GM to be the Jedi/republic leader.
