Personal issue: His entire unit, except for him, was killed by an IED followed by an attack. He was stunned throughout the assault and, while that saved his life, it prevented him from doing anything to stop those that attacked his unit.

Power: Amplify explosions (add extra energy to an explosive, which is released when it explodes), Rapid combustion (makes something which is flammable release all of its energy in a fraction of a second, which makes it explode.)

Personality: Once the joker of his unit, everything changed when he lost his entire unit to an ambush. Now he's very serious and dedicated to his mission.

Bio: He was a fairly popular guy in highschool, and when he graduated, joined the marines for the free college. After graduating, though, they sent him to Iraq. While over there, he was walking along with his unit, joking with them when an IED blew up, knocking him down and dazing him, but killing several of the men in his unit. He was unconscious when the enemy walked through the group and shot the rest of his unit. When he woke up he saw the horror of the scene, the dead bodies spread around, and went into shock. After a psych evaluation stated that he was no longer fit for duty, he was given an honorable discharge and sent back to the US.

While recovering at the VA hospital he decided that the government was as responsible for their death as the enemy troops, perhaps more so, as the enemy thought it was protecting its home. The politicians here, however, were fighting to make their corporate friends richer.

Name: Janet Carter

Appearance:

Personal issue: Psychotic stalker ex boyfriend.

Power: Illusion: Enchants herself (indefinite), people (lasts a few hours), objects (a few hours), or locations (a few minutes) to make people see what she wants them to instead of what is actually there. Adding more detail takes more time and energy, but makes the illusion harder to see through. The illusions can be seen through if the person finds a hole in the illusion (such as a hidden bomb beeping), are told by someone that can see through it that it's fake, or if they are strong willed enough to not get the entire illusion projected into their mind. Some powers also give a person resistance to them.

Personality: Kind and helpful, she wants to make the world a better place. More than anything, though she wants to look out for for little brother. Unfortunately, she wasn't there for him when he lost his legs. She will, however, make it up to him by getting revenge on those that cost him his legs.

Bio: She grew as a normal kid and, when she she got out of high school went to nursing school to become an RN. That's where she met Greg. He was a decent guy at first, but the longer they were together the more possessive he became. He wanted to know where she was all the time, and got paranoid that she was cheating on him. After he turned violent one night after he got drunk, she left him.

That didn't stop him, however. He started coming to the Hospital where she worked and, after security started kicking him out, he began waiting at the bus stop. She was forced to get a restraining order, but the next day he came to her apartment while she was there. She hid in a closet and called the police. He ransacked the place looking for her and, when he got to the closet she was terrified. He opened the door, but didn't see her. He cursed, punched the wall, and continued his search. She looked at her hands, wondering if she was invisible, but she could still see them.

The police came in then and arrested him, but the officer didn't see her in the open closet either. When the police started to leave she got out of the closet and told the officer she was there. The Officer was surprised to see her, and asked where she had come from. "I was on fire escape" she said, apparently satisfying the police officer.

Over the next few weeks she practiced on people at work, making them see minor things wrong, but, when she got a call from her mom saying that her brother, James, was coming home from overseas, and that he had lost his legs to an explosive. She left to go to her parent's house and, after her brother recovered a bit, went with him as his nurse to the VA hospital in DC where he was going to do his rehab, counseling, and have prosthetic legs attached.

That's where she met Jeffery. He accidentally used his powers in front of her when the memories of his buddies came to him, making a pencil glow purple, but not explode. She confided in him that she was also a Super, and they began to talk. They agreed that the soldiers had lost too much and that the government needed to be stopped from costing them more. The only way to do that would be to bring the war to DC.

She even smuggled his bombs into government buildings, as she could make security overlook any problems in them.

Power: Life drain (absorbs the life energy of another person through touch. To heal a serious wound, however, would require all of the energy in a normal human's body, killing them if he took it. Depending on how much he takes, they will be weak, pass out, go into a coma, or die.)
Prosthetic legs (lets him jump 2 meters in the air and run 25 MPH. Once he kicked a car in anger and caved the door in, lifting that side of the car off of the ground.)

Personal issue: Alternates between Hope and Despair; feeling great hope one moment, then feeling despair the next.

Power:“In fearful day, in raging night,
With strong hearts full, our souls ignite,
When all seems lost in the War of Light,
Look to the stars-- For hope burns bright!”

Hope Materialization - Mikhail can sense and transform Hope, either his hope or that of others', into energy, which in turn can be made into constructs, force-fields, anti-gravity, and heal people. Basically, a Blue Lantern Ring* without the need for a Green Lantern one.

However, this power has a big drawback. Mikhail's powers are dependent on how much hope is in the area, and his own ability to be hopeful is failing. That means that he has to depend on other people to have hope, which does not always work. Thus, psychological warfare, as well as taking out any companions or bodyguards he has, is an effective tactic against him.

Another weakness is that his healing is slow compared to a dedicated healer, while his constructs, force-fields, and shields can be worn down in a reasonable amount of time (10 to 15 minutes) by grenade-strength weapons.

Personality: Mikhail tries to be hopeful, he really does. But getting kindapped, deliberately traumatized until he had powers, then being sold to various private interests as a living weapon, and after that, escaping, sometimes it wears down on a person, and sometimes, it's just too much. And there is the fact that he is literally a freak, someone thrown out of the continuum that is Humanity. At the same time, the kid still has an iron-clad conviction that peace is still possible, that the bonds of sapience, aka the fact that both Human and Powered can feel love, hope, trust, and plan for the future, can still overcome even the glaring differences that now exist. Yes, it's insane, yes, it goes against cold logic. But he will still believe it, because he will not forsake a thinking being, regardless of whether they have powers or not.

Bio: Mikhail was the son of second-generation Russian Immigrants, fans of JRR Tolkien, whose own parents had fled to America to evade debts from the Russian Mafiya (yes, that's the spelling). Thus, Mikhail was raised by both his parents and members of the local Tolkien Society, and had a childhood immersed in works of High Fantasy, as well as normal schooling, which he excelled in.

Then, one day, the Mafiya's enforcers found the little home the family were staying in, and killed Mikhail's family; just because they were a generation removed from the original debtors didn't mean that they were shielded from the wrath of Organized Crime, and Mikhail himself was taken as 'collateral' for the remaining debt, and sold to DemeterBioTech, a Corporation that was secretly experimenting on people to induce powers in them.

Knowing that trauma can induce powers, the Corporation in their secret laboratories slowly began torturing Mikhail, upping the ante every half-day. Mikhail felt miserable, hurt, but at the same time, hopeful that he would be rescued, that some hero or heroine would come to save him. And, just when the torturers were about to cap the torment by subjecting him to the 'ultimate defilement'...a group of police officers burst in and 'arrested' the torturers. This caused Mikhail to manifest his ability: Hope Materilization.

He was glad! He was safe! Wait, why were the 'police' drawing a cattle prod on him -

When he woke up, he was still in the laboratories, but in a more secure facility, one with reinforced concrete walls and kevlar padding, and he had a shock-explosive collar on his neck. And he knew this, that he hadn't actually escaped. After he was given time to weep, he was forcibly brought out, along with several other children who had manifested powers through trauma, and told that they were now property of DemeterBioTech, living weapons to be trained, bought, and sold to the highest bidder. And that was what happened, with the handlers using every psychological trick they had to keep the kids cowed and under control as they were trained to be, and used as, assassins.

Mikhail spent one year in that life, and he hated it. Not merely that, but he was only able to access his powers in the presence of other people who had hope, as he had none himself in that time. He can barely function, he can barely do anything, and he wanted to die so badly. But he didn't, because just before he decided to do that, the uprising started.

It turned out, several of the kids had managed to hack the shock collars, or just destroy them, then rebel against their captors. Mikhail, feeling hope for the first time since his rescue, joined the rebels, managing to carve a hole through the holding area they were in, and escape to the streets.

Many of them would be hunted down, or starve, or die in other ways, but Mikhail and a few of the remaining kids would find refuge in the estate of one Augusta E. Feather, a rich old woman who had the power of manipulating probability. In said estate, Mikhail and his companions would recover, and the boy would find hope again...especially as DemeterBioTech would find itself shut down by the Government.

Now, Mikhail, as the adopted son of Augusta Feather, would look at the recent news...and know that the days of fear would be returning again.

Only this time...he was ready.

6'1 Alec is slim and nimble, never being one to be strong for say, but intelligent and gets things done with his mind that his strength can not.

Personal issue: Distant from people because of his dark past, shy and not willing to input opinion in fear of being judged. His entire family was killed before him being the age of ten, it will always haunt him.

Power: Darkness/shadow Manipulation. The ability to turn into night itself, and make peoples nightmares a reality.

Personality: A loner, does not feel it necessary to interact with people unless he really needs to, also believes that there is no such thing as love, only anger, fear, and despair.

Bio: As a young boy Alec was raised by a wealthy family, his father being a successful lawyer and his mother being a business lady. They led a happy life, Alec, his two brothers, older brother Henry and younger brother Danny and their parents. They lived in an upstate pent house that Alec's father had bought when he fist met Alec's mother. One evening after a rather long day at work Alec's mother came home early to find her loving husband in bed with another woman. In pure shock she left, sobbing at the realization of the situation. She hated herself. Soon after she took her life. Henry blamed his father to full extent of his mothers death, telling him every day how much he hated him and wished he had been the one to die. At the age of 9, Alec witnessed his fathers death. A shot to the head from his older 16 year old brothers revolver, a present from his grandfather. Henry, devastated now that he had lost both parents pleaded to god for mercy, shot their little brother in his sleep, in fear that he would live a path similar to his own and attempted to take Alec's life as well. Before he could Alec escaped, sobbing into the cold wet rained out streets in the middle of the night.
After a while on the streets, looking for a place to go, barley living, at the age of 10 Alec was taken into a foster care, where he stayed until he turned 18 and left. At the foster care he learned something, something he was able to do, control his fear and anger and manifest it into a physical property. Darkness. He would scare kids by turning their lights off during late nights of class work at midnight. The children began to expect it, thinking it to be demons haunting them. Alec had his fun in early age, until he became more serious about his abilities, he did not want anyone else to hurt.

Bio:
Son of a solider and a vet along with two siblings. His mother was platoon leader for EOD in desert storm with her dog Zeus, His father was a large animal vet. He was six when she died overseas from a sniper round while doing her job, Zeus was retired back to the states with her remains. Ten years later, they buried the dog next to her. In those ten years, his dad crawled into a bottle and his assistant's bedsheets. That dog became his life. When he was 16, he became an emancipated minor due to his fathers self destructive behavior. Within the month he was in the Army training for the K-9 unit. He did one tour of four years that got him his official degree in vet medicine before he left, not that he needed it with all of the unofficial hours at the clinic, and joined the LAPD for another four in their K-9 unit before he got a Washington contact which lead to a Washington contract.

Appearance: Thomas is around 5' 11" in height, with a weight of about 183 pounds. He's got a well-built body, showing good athleticism. His hair is a dark brown, and very unruly. He's got a short, rugged-looking beard as well. His nose is slightly crooked, having been broken in a fist-fight a few years back.
Personal issue: When on a hunting trip, Thomas and his brother encountered a bear, which chased after them. His brother tripped, and rather than attempt to save him, Thomas hid inside a hollowed-out tree. He regrets this, and wishes he had done it differently, even if that meant him dying.
Power: He has the ability to turn himself, and anything he is holding/wearing invisible. Bright light shined directly or near-directly on him can give away his position.
Personality: A loner by heart, Thomas struggles to get along with those he doesn't know very well, or doesn't want to know. He tends to be sarcastic and gruff, but this doesn't stop him from doing the right thing.
Bio: After his powers revealed themselves, he became a sort-of 'vigilante', hunting down and killing any empowered person who was harmed or killed an innocent. He believes that what he does is what's right, more out of wanting to protect the innocents than for any patriotic reason.
Equipment: A .30-06 bolt-action rifle with a hunting scope, a .45 handgun, and a hunting knife. He wears dark, fully-body clothing, designed to make as little noise as possible.

-Soul bonding: He is able to bond with animals. When bonded they can share surface thoughts and he can heal himself and the animals he is bonded with to some degree. They can also feel some of the pain the others are feeling. The animals are more knowledgeable than their counter parts and the Jordan tends be be a little more animalistic. The ups and downs only effect the ones that are connected. So Jordan sends to the animals but the animals only go to Jordan.

Giant lizard that looks kind of like this. About the size of a husky(Weight 55 pounds, Height 2 feet). Makes a semi corrosive bile to help eat food and can be used to attack enemies. Limited use of Bile.

Personality: Jordan tends to be quiet and reserved and likes to talk to his family more then anyone else. He is more relaxed when he is just around his family. He puts their thoughts and feelings above anyone and will do anything to help them. While he doesn't like most people he won't hurt someone unless he or his family feel threatened.

Bio: Jordan lived in a small town in what might as well of been in the middle of nowhere. When he started going to school is when his life started to get worse. He wasn't sure why but he just ended up the odd man out. No matter what he tried his life didn't get any better. After a failed suicide attempt he started hearing other animals. He started spending as much of his time on the outskirts of town and that is how he meet an injured Jasmine. From that point on he would spend as much time helping and feeding her as he could. After she was healed he packed his bag and left his home town with Jasmine. After traveling for a long time he came across a city but the two was now three. He has spent the last few months at the edge of the city doing whatever it took to survive.

Hal stands at 5 foot 11 and has a muscular physique. His hair is unruly, and bright blonde contrasting with his single dark brown eye. His left eye is missing, and in its place rests a robotic eye that constantly glows red. The skin around the eye is slightly lighter than most of his face, as it was grafted from a corpse. His right arm from the elbow down is completely mechanical, and is a dark black with small red lights glowing here and there. His most noticeable feature is, of course, his right leg. While both legs are mechanical, his right leg is distinctly different due to it having been a prototype at the time of 'installation'.

Telekenesis, although this is only minor and his real power lies within his augmentations. He is able to run far faster than any human athlete and can scale a building through the sheer power in his mechanical legs. Along with this, his right knee actually contains a high powered revolver, which he can aim and fire with accuracy thanks to his right eye's increased eyesight due to it being mechanical.
Personality:
Hal is a very outgoing and enthusiastic man. Often taunting his opponents in combat or having friendly banter with team mates. Unfortunately though, there are also some very dark sides to his personality. Due to his mechanical eye being directly linked to his brain, the AI embedded in the eye has slowly begun trying to take over control of his body. This has resulted in some less than nice traits. For example, he is highly sadistic and won't hesitate to put his enemy in as much pain as possible even if it means more work for himself.
Bio:
Hal was born in Düsseldorf, Germany to a businessman father and a housewife mother. For the majority of his early life he was just a normal kid, developing and growing as every other child did. That is until his power manifested. He was 15 or so at the time and was being bullied by a group of older kids at a local play park. Before he knew what he was doing, he had sent the older kids flying across the park as if they were ragdolls. He ran home and told no one of that day, instead opting to train his power in secret.

Years passed and Hal eventually joined the German military at the young age of 17. He quickly excelled through the ranks, putting improvision along with tactics and of course, skill into use on the battlefield as well as a veteran would do. He eventually joined the Kommando Spezialkräfte later on in his military career. It was in this role that his life changed forever.

He was on an operation in the middle east, to save a hostage from a terror cell. However, the terrorists actually had no intention of allowing the hostage to live and had killed him hours before Hal and his team arrived. The team quickly discovered bombs and rapidly tried to make their way out of the building. Unfortunately, no one did. Hal suffered the least injury of the team, and that's saying something. He had lost both legs, his right arm and his face was badly burned. 'Fortunately' for him he was found and dragged off by the very same terrorist cell who had rigged the house. He was brought back to their headquarters where he was subsequently experimented on by a crack team of scientists.

He came out of the process half a machine. His mind has been warped and he was deadset on the murder of the president and the destruction of the west. He became a villain, travelling to America for the sole purpose of wreaking havoc and destabilizing the country. Fortunately, his spree ended when a stray bullet pierced through his skull at an awkward angle and managed to sever the wire controlling his thoughts. He subsequently turned himself into the police and served a much shorter sentence after his claims of mind control were found to be true by a team of doctors and scientists.

He became a hero shortly after his release, and has been struggling to keep the AI within his head in check ever since it began attempting to take control again.

Name: Joseph "Asper Scythe" "Nine" Stone

Personal issue: All his friends were killed whilst off duty because he was careless. Joe constantly feels that he was at fault for letting them die, but more importantly that he should have died along with them.

Power: Gun-smithing is the ability to create any feasible weapon from nothing in about 1.257 seconds. Any weapon that has been invented can be created using this power, but the user must be able to understand what makes that weapon tick. Things like large scale explosives and future weapons are completely impossible to create, but any type of current gun, ranged or melee weapon, small scale explosives etc are within his limits. This is also limited by the fact that the user must be able to IMAGINE them self with that weapon before they can wield it, which makes being a person who understands weapons almost essential.

Personality: Joe has always been a whimsical person, acting purely on instinct a variably nothing else. This has made him rather unpredictable, with his methods being unusually unorthodox and dangerous, but still with some sense of safety in mind. He has also been slightly paranoid; always carrying a weapon of some description with him in the event of a fight or attack. As well, he has been known to disregard an areas mood, which often leads to confrontations following comments offensive to the people around him and their emotions.

Joe joined the military at the age of 26 because of some sort of duty he felt he had to uphold. In his first 2 years of service, he made multiple friends who he would spend much of his off duty time with besides his family. After 5 years of service, he had to be discharged because of an odd mental distortion during his free time. He and his friends from the army had all gone of a trip, where they were to spend a week recovering from duty, before they were to head back to their families for a couple of months. On the third day of the trip, Joe and his mates went out for the night, where he was encouraged to leave his weapons behind and to stop being paranoid. They 5 had a great evening, and left at around 4am where they were attacked in the street. Whilst walking back to their hotel, a group of thugs ambushed the drunk men and killed all but Joe; who was knocked unconscious at the start of the battle. When he awoke, he was in hospital where he was informed of the news. There he was confirmed unfit for military services and was discharged back to his family.

It was shortly after this he developed his ability. He felt so strongly that it was his fault everyone had died, and felt even more so that he should have died along with them. After his powers manifested, he was conducted into a training regiment called the UKPD, or United Kingdoms' Processor Division. There, his abilities were tested and he was officially given the title of Processor Nine, or Asper Scythe. He has been transferred to America since the news of the presidents assassination was revealed.
