Everything seems to have settled down since the end Third Great Shinobi War, and everything seems to be going well. Missions have been running smoothly, and the upcoming Chuunin Exams is just around the corner (by a good few months). However, recently, strange occurrences have started to ensue outside the outskirts of Konoha and the Land of Fire itself. A rising in rogue ninja worldwide has caused the Kages to take action in the shadows, and, if not acted upon, could lead to future dilemmas. Although this unknown terrorist organisation continues to clash with other ninja in deadly silence, it's about time to train the future generation to its fullest potential. Harsh tests and trials are about to serve as dangerous obstacles for the soon-to-be Genin of the Hidden Leaf, and it's only going to get worse from there.

Heyo! I present to those new and old to this RP Naruto: Into the Darkness. This was originally an idea from another fellow RP-er, but after many attempts of trying to get everyone and everything sorted, both previous RPs have unfortunately died. However, I have learned from my mistakes and decided to make a new RP with events set in mind and even a vague ending planned out.
This RP is set in a sort-of AU. All of the writers will be playing as above-average Genin who have been handpicked and assigned to a special squad after having endured many years in the Academy. Although the purpose of forming this special squad is still unknown to them, normal missions will still be carried out. As they learn, develop their skills and interact with other squad members, the threats that keep on scratching at the walls of Konoha are becoming more and more prominent. Different enemies will be encountered and, hopefully, this RP will last as long as it can! Of course, rules are very important. This is gonna be pretty straightforward, but I do expect you to take some time to read these lovely jubbly rules.
Rule no. 1: If you don't agree with someone or something, you can tell them/me that. Nobody is going to feel insulted because of that (lest you don't follow rule no. 1) and most actually feel like you helped them. However remember that I always have the last word. So please, if you don't have a legit logical reason to back up your argument, just listen to what I say.
Rule no. 2: Create a Genin and only a Genin. I'm quite active in this website, so I'll be the one in charge of controlling the Jonin for this squad. I don't want to give an important position such as a Jonin to anyone who (I have no idea how to rephrase this to make it sound less offensive) that can't handle the position, e.g not as active because life sucks etc. I don't want anyone to feel pressurised at all, so please, create a Genin instead.
Rule no. 3: Don't be a jerk. To put it in plain, simple words; there is a difference between having an opinion or disagreement and attacking someone and treating them like they're stupid. Don,t crush someones ideas or creativity, it's just not nice. What isn't natural is bullying them into quitting the rp. If an argument escalates, be the better person stop it or ask me for some assistance.
Rule no. 4: Keep your characters logical. Nobody has ever seen a Genin with the power of a Kage. It has to make sense to be accepted. I know this is an RP where the Genin are above average, but still, they have their weaknesses too! Just imagine that our squad is basically the Rookie 9 shoved into one group.
Rule no. 5: Please try to be as active as possible. I am fully aware that all of you have your own lives to live outside Roleplayed Guild, but if there's a lack of replies, the roleplay is guaranteed to die one way or another. Especially for an RP like this, it almost demands that we reply as soon as we possibly can. You have fights, witty comments and important information, all of which should be replied to as soon as possible. I'm pretty sure we all get hella busy at some point, even me, but when people don't reply, it just becomes a problem. I know it sounds harsh, but this RP literally thrives on how often we post.

Doubling up on this question, though sticking with my character. I want him to shine damnit, he's been sitting in my computers documents for far to long to just idle around.
I'm down to give this another try if there is still space left for me. I didn't try to make a character last RP because I didn't want to impede the progression of the RP itself because I knew I would be on and off at days at a time. I was working larger hours than normal because a co-worker of mine decided to quit, so I knew I would have little to no time to even log on, and when I did have time I was tired.
We have found a new worker, and I don't think he is quitting anytime soon :p so I'm back to my regular hours which I have more than enough time to roleplay. Like I said, if there is still space I'll join, if there isn't I'll help out Jay anyway I can if she needs it.
@Aegis1650 No, you do not have to change your character. However, if it were possible, I suggest changing the character's background a bit. I know it is very unique to see a character from a different villagw rather than Konoha, but I decided to follow logic a bit more in this RP. For a Hidden village such as Konohagakure to accept another person from another Hidden village from say Amegakure, is highly unlikely. This is why I suggest that everyone creates a character that was born and raised in Konoha. I had always been iffy on the idea of characters from othwr villages travelling to Konoha from the start, but I decided to let it pass. If it is possible for you to change your character's birthplace, that would be amazing.
To everyone who has just come from Naruto: King of Dusk, we will indeed be restarting the entire plot. It may sound inconvenient, but I have a feeling that it's going to be better this way. I already have the events of the RP vaguely planned out, so I think it's best if we start all over again.

Character Appearances Appearance: Toko possesses a thin frame, rather light skin and black hair. A set of brown eyes rest above his nose and peer at you with a soft smile stretching across his lips. There isn’t much that would catch your eyes about this boy. He wears clothes that allows for freedom of movement and prefers to move about without much encumbrance.
Toko’s body is what would be expected from a ninja his age. He’s rather small which would lower the threat he’d impose to quite a drastic level. It would be uncommon to gaze upon this boy and expect much of a punch but as most would have learned through their experiences, in the world of the ninja, a person’s size and age mean next to naught. Toko always wears outfits akin to his clan, consisting of an elegant silken vest that licks his thin torso rather tightly. Apart from the fingerless leather gloves donning has hands for a better grip, his arms are bare and leave little to imagination.
Upon his legs, Toko wears a pair of shorts reaching down to his kneecaps. Finally by his ankles the boy's ninja sandals take over and cover his feet. Most of the time, he’d leave it at that. He dislikes accessories as they get in the way and dresses in a way that reflects his view of life, simple. Across his chest one can often see the string of a bow thrown over his shoulder.
He’s not very creative when it comes to colours as most of his clothes are either black or grey, however a rather colourful personality can at times make up for it.
Personal Information Personality: What lurks behind that cute little smile of his? It’s a question many have asked, but none has quite been able to decipher it. Toko doesn’t appear to be menacing in the slightest and sometimes he could seem a bit ‘too’ innocent. However, those who know him also know that this is far from the case. While not quite an act, Toko appears to be incredibly humble and never measures himself with anyone. He would much rather simply step aside and allow the situation to take its course without violence or pride getting in the way.
One could call this cowardice but on the contrary, it’s confidence. Toko doesn’t feel like he has anything to prove to anyone but himself. He is very well aware that there will always be those who are stronger than he is, and there will always be those whom he can best without much of an issue. This is an objective truth which will always ring true no matter where you are, no matter when you are. In short, Toko sees no reason in measuring himself with others and has as such developed a calm, serene and harmonic personality which allows him to meet conflicts with a smile, an apology or a simple nod.
Of course, this humble personality does have the tendency of pissing some people off as they can take it as patronising. This is never the intent, however when words reach physical violence, Toko will never hesitate to commence combat. The boy is an incredibly protective individual and will do everything in his power to protect those he considers his friends. However, he is not a fool. Being a ninja, Toko has been taught to be disciplined and professional, never rash and foolhardy.
Quiet and without many words to share, Toko is still quite social. He enjoys contact with others but prefers to listen rather speaking. Words have a much greater impact if they are charged up with knowledge and wisdom, something that is acquired by listening. Speaking of which, Toko holds great respect towards his elders and gladly listens to their experiences as to learn from their lives. Respectful would be a great word to use when describing this boy.
History: Toko grew up with a close relationship to his mother and father, both of whom were incredibly open minded and accepting individuals. They raised him well, but throughout his childhood, Toko kept mostly to himself and it grew with the years.
It was early that he learned that his mother had been struggling with a terminal illness but it didn’t show itself very often. In fact, she was a very strong woman but with her energy being constantly sapped, it eventually became too much. What could be considered a perfect little family was down one member once the illness finally won the fight. Since childhood, Toko’s mother had been an astounding warrior, but the one foe she could not beat was the illness draining her spirit. Her passing was hard on both Toko and his father but together they managed to struggle through it.
With her gone, Toko grew even more reserved and kept to himself most of the day. The passing of a year was enough to eventually crack a small hole in the shell he had created and he started to speak more and spend more time with his father. Their relationship grew stronger once the mourning had been going on for a while and things started looking up.
Ken continued with his missions, and Toko’s grades at school were picking back up. Before and after his mother passed on, Toko’s life was rather straight forward. His Bloodline Limit ability showed itself as early as ten years into his life and has since then been close to his heart. It has been the centre of his combat prowess and what draws his clan’s capabilities.
Toko gets along with most people but has at times difficulties initiating meaningful conversations with others. It has however been noted that his ability to maintain social interactions with others has improved quite a bit over the years.
Since an early age Toko found great interest in the concept of bloodline limits and powers all together. Given the fact that he noticed how he was 'different' at such a young age, he quickly grew interested in what other people could do. He happily spent many hours listening to stories and tales of old, learning about various clans and their feats.

Special Traits: The Ling bloodline while good at what they do, are unable to manage even the simplest of jutsu beyond their own Kekkei Genkai.
Kekkei Genkai: Chakra Manifestation The ability to conjure chakra into a solid state, it is an ability practiced by the Ling bloodline as their specialised combat maneuver. At a young age, the user of this Kekkei Genkai chooses to link his or her spirit with a single shape which will later be accessible for conjuration. The arrow is the absolutely most common shape the Ling bloodline has connected themselves to, and as such are known as splendid archers.
This shape, in this case an arrow, can be summoned at will and nocked onto the string of a bow before it's fired at whomever is the target. As the user of his ability grows in power, they are able to imbue their conjured item with various effects ranging from elemental fire to poisonous strikes.

Name: Chakra Arrow Type: Bloodline Limit Rank: D Range: Personal Hand Signs: None. Description: The most basic of techniques. This ability allows Toko to summon an arrow made out of pure chakra. It has a blue transparent colour like chakra usually does and acts like any other solid arrow. However, these arrows are unaffected by environmental disturbance such as wind. The arrow will vanish after a certain amount of time.
Name: Fire Arrow Type: Bloodline Limit Rank: D Range: Personal Hand Signs: None. Description: A basic addition to the Chakra Arrow, Toko infuses the arrow with the element of fire, turning the blue transparency into an orange hue.
Okay, so for all you who are in this RP, this is how it'a going to start:
First of all, all the students are going to be in a classroom with the othee Genin. Squads are called out as normal, but when our characters don't hear their names being called out, they realise something strange is going on. Those who weren't called out are ordered to stay in the classroom while the rest of the Genin go out and meet their new senseis. I'll probably get a post up in the IC tomorrow, but until then, no one else has to post in the IC. Once we've got a full house, we can start.
Edit: Feel free to have pre existing friendships with other Genin. All of the ninja in our squad are from the same class, so I'm sure everyone should have interacted with each other at some point.
