She shall shapeshift into her natural wolf form and make that feral wolf her bitch. She is currently the beta of the largest wolf pack located near Tregaron and will insist on asserting her dominance over a fellow wolf and anything else that may or may not be a threat. Although she is forever searching for an Alpha to replace the last one, but would rather die than trust anything to that position again.

Personality:
Nukpana is an introvert to the extreme. She prefers solitude or the company of animals and the monsters of the Wasteland. She doesn't trust humans, especially men. In fact, she hates them. Nobody knows her true nature, nor that her different appearances are connected in anyway. Nobody has ever seen her without her rebeather on and travels the cities only to replenish her heroine supply and other odds and ends to survive.

Her wolf form, is fabled to be one of the greatest monsters in the land. Standing six feet tall with bristled black and blood red fur, she is a predator at it's finest. This great wolf is the beta of the largest wolf pack in the land that hunts humans who dare to traverse the Wasteland. Her favorite taste is men, because it was a man that killed the alpha of her pack several years ago.

Her second form is used rarely. It's for the beautiful sensual side of her. She is truly free-spirited and enjoys flying him up into the clouds and racing the eagles. Stories are told of the red pegasus who allows small children the gift of freedom and enjoyment of flight.

Biography:
When she was two-years old, her powers manifested and she turned into a baby wolf. Her parents weren't sure what to make of it, and traded her for money in the Wasteland. Even at such a young age, she was able to escape her captor and survive by herself. A pack of wolves took her in and raised her. She knows only survival. Little is truly known about Nukpana. Only stories and fables of her adventures are told throughout the travelers and rare permanent residents of the horrible land.

Before his faction went to shit they taught him how to fight, mainly, because that's what they did, with no guns, they were at a loss, so they did what they could. Not unlike the bandits they had to earn their keep and fight their way to the top, and that's exactly what he did. He didn't want to be in the bottom, so he trained harder and harder each day, striving to become better each day.

When he was a lowlife in his faction, he didn't have much control in his faction, and the only available spots to live were near the mines. Coal gas was constantly emitted from the mines as well as fumes from oil, eventually he had to get one.

Bullet Proof Vest:

Protects him from most average guns. He later added an under layer of shock buffers in case of electric-based or other futuristic weaponry.

Shock Rifle:

The Shock Rifle is a highly advanced rifle that materializes energy into controlled particle blasts. It's requires at least a gigawatt of energy for a particle blast. The blast vaporizes most weak materials such as wood and simple stone, as well as flesh and bones.. If it connects with a metal it vaporizes or fries anything inside it. The screen that looks like a digital watch has a dial next to it which controls how many gigawatts of energy you put out in one blast (I.E 96.1) The rifle has four settings; safety, three-round burst, semi-auto, and auto.

The shock rifle requires specialized clips for ammo. Instead of holding bullets it holds gigawatts of energy. The most simple hold 1000 gigawatts of energy. The clips are found in military bases, usually controlled and protected by bandits.

Stasus Pistol:

The Stasus Pistol is somewhat like the Schock Rifle in the sense that it uses energy to shoot. Instead of particle blasts it emits waves of energy that stun enemies for a short amount of time, the max being five minutes.

The pistol also uses clips, the simplest holding a megawatt of energy. The clips, as well as the guns themselves can be found in most run down police stations, as well as in airports, as they were most frequently used by the TSA.

(5) Antimatter-Based Reversal Grenades

The AMG is yet another futuristic weapon. Inside it a capsule containing the highly unstable antimatter is stored. When the blast releases the antimatter, the antimatter distorts the area around it until it becomes a small vortex, sucking in anything within five meters of it.

Passive Skills: A good liar/bargainer, which has gotten him through a few run ins with the bandits.

Background:

He doesn't remember much from his childhood. Mostly his mother, and her warm hands and calming voice. From what he remembered, he didn't see much of his father, mainly because of his frequent loans from the bandits that he didn't pay off. When he did see him he would be covered with scars and bruises.

Then they were gone... Their faction had been attacked, and an AMG took his parents from his life. All he had left where the strange creatures that inhabited the ruins of his former home, and a picture of his family with the glass shattered.

From then on he scavenged, and survived. He didn't live. None of what he was doing was living, or thriving, it was slowing dying. Awaiting for death's welcoming arms, as he saw them get nearer and nearer each day. That's when he met his future faction, the only thing he had left. He wouldn't call them friends, more like acquaintances, but even that was enough to get him through whatever barren hell he had left to stand on.

Starting Zone: In the middle of the pentagonic outline that Strawford, Whitebridge, Willsden, Tregaron, and Lindow make. He lives with his faction, which is based on mining, and are able to sell valuable resources to bandits instead of giving them their land. Think of the faction as the tenants of a rundown building and the bandits are the landlords. The faction needs to make payments in order to live their.

In regular standards Jonathan would stun the wolf and make a run for it, not wanting to harm the animal. If he or his faction was starving, he would then stun the wolf, and drag it back to his faction. At that point, food is food.

Faction Race: Primarily humans, although open to all.

Faction Population: 2,000 - estimated.
Faction Tech Level: The Republic relies mostly on its own technology, although its technological progress has been established by copying pre-disaster relics and blueprints. Combustion engines, electricity and firearms are very much a reality within the republic, though such things are extremely crude compared with what the world was once capable of producing.

Advances are being made all the time, but progress has been slowed by a lack of available resources. However, the Republic is capable of providing basic healthcare, has a tax structure and a fully functional "democratic" government.

Faction Leader: President John Ambrose
Faction's Agenda: The Republic is primarily concerned with "old world values" of trade and security cooperation, and is solely invested in surviving and expanding as an emerging power in the Lifeless Cradle. It seeks to unite the wasteland under a single banner, but not necessarily through military means.
Faction History: Twenty years ago, various groups of traders, survivors, farmers and hunters banded together to form a single community in the ruins of Astrakane. This was done predominately out of a need for mutual survival, and security against never ending bandit raiders and Crawler infestations.

A constitution was erected, promising all peoples from all backgrounds an equal chance in the eye of the Republic's justice systems and governmental institutions. Presidential terms last four years, but a candidate can be reelected an infinite amount of times. A far cry from our real world democracies, the President holds total power over all government departments and their word is law so long as they hold the office.

President John Ambrose, a former Crawler Hunter, has held the title of President for five consecutive terms and is preparing his sixth election. An old man at 56 years of age, his support is beginning to wane due to the perception that he is "past it", a notion he always takes as an insult.

Women are not barred from running, and neither are outsiders. However, all candidates must be accepted citizens of the Republic - a swearing in service whereby an individual pledges their life and allegiance to the Banner of the Flaming Sun.

Since its establishment, the Republic of the Flaming Sun has been attempting to take complete control of Astrakane from bandits and crawlers, but has struggled to achieve any real success. In fact, it could be argued they are losing the war on multiple fronts.

But perhaps this is all about to change?

Faction Armaments:

Republican Guardsmen

Guardsmen of the Republic come in many forms, from the brave and the professional, to the cowardly and the corrupt. They are all mostly conscripts, sworn into service to uphold an incessant state of emergency. They use every kind of traditional firearm, from pistols and revolvers, to bolt action rifles and submachineguns. Their training is often rushed, and it usually takes a strong leader to keep them in a sustained fight. They are far from the best, but they are perhaps one of the only real armed forces of the Lifeless Cradle.

Protector MK1 Fighting Vehicle

The miracle of the Republic's 20-year long survival owes itself chiefly to the Protector. A tank in essence, designed on ancient technology that predates the Great Burning of the World. It is capable of speeds up to 4mph, and is powered by diesel - a finite commodity that is becoming harder and harder to acquire.

Bristling with machineguns and lower calibre cannons, the Protector is able to stomp over most resistance - its only real weakness is its lack of maneuverability. Squads of guardsmen always accompany a Protector, to prevent hostile infantry or crawlers from getting too close to it.

Physical Appearance: Solomon is a wiry-limbed man who looks decades beyond his years. Balding gray hair adorns his pale, freckled scalp, and a thick black mustache distracts those who he converses with from the vibrant pink scar stretching from his left ear to the left corner of his mouth.

His dull brown eyes are a lie that hide a burning fire within, and he often loses several of his wrinkles once he becomes "impassioned" with a particular task or topic of discussion.

Otherwise, he just looks a tired old man, and the dusty olive-drab trench coat and combat fatigues do little to liven up his image.

Combat Skills: Seasoned Guardsmen, having served twenty years in the name of the Republic. Therefore, he is a sound tactician and no stranger around most firearms. He has encountered Crawlers and Bandits in hundreds of engagements, and fears neither of them. He is a cool hand to be played when everything hits the fan.

Armour: His olive-drab trench coat and combat fatigues provide little protection from either bullets or claws. In fact, it could be said that his steel-capped leather combat boots are the most sturdiest piece of his "armour".

Guardsmen Defender MK3

The Guardsmen Defender Mark 3 assault rifle is the staple of the Republic's finer soldiery. Costly to produce, but devastating to deploy, it is capable of emptying its 30-round 7.62mm magazine in seconds. With the latest in recoil stabilization technology, the Guardsmen Defender can be used to pound a position with lethal accuracy and efficiency.

Passive Skills: Hero of the People - is beloved by citizens of the Republic, and he often uses this to his advantage when inspiring troops or forcing his way through political gridlocks with President Ambrose.

Special Abilities: N/A

Background: A professional hunter turned soldier, who has risen through the ranks of the Republic's military through heroic deeds and cunning operational executions. He has no family to speak of; no wife, no children, no parents or siblings.

Though he is held in high regard by his fellow citizens, few have managed to pierce the veil of secrecy that surrounds his origins... and he does little to encourage them to dig further.

Riley is dangerous with a knife - with the intent to slit a throat or to fling into a heart. She knows the rudiments of operating a gun, and has trained in hand-to-hand combat.

Armour
Having never inherited anything apocalypse-worthy in her name Riley is woefully lacking in the armoury. And with the bandits, she would be hard-pressed to convince someone to make a gift out of their own armour, out of good favour. She has a weaponry belt that she slings on her waist, but that's about as good as it gets. She once scavenged a Kevlar vest so worn it doesn’t seem to be very bulletproof anymore. But she usually can't be bothered to wear it, and so spends half her life dodging behind barrels, walls, people…anything that will take the hit in her stead.

Weapon/s

• Handgun: It was something Riley killed another man for, and there are bloodstains she hasn't been able to scrub off. But it's a trusty thing.
• Knives: Riley has a penchant for throwing them. Ranging from gleaming steel to rusted copper, every blade sheathed next to her pelvis is sharp enough to prick and draw blood. She hoards these things obsessively, for a hunt or a kill.

Passive Skills
While she's no cook, Riley does know how to find a meal, and some water. She would make a model Boy Scout, making shelters when she's got the time, and hunting animals if she thinks she can stomach the blood.

Special Abilities
Pyrokinesis. Riley can control flame. Fire will burst to life in her palms, or fingertips. She can put out a fire if she wills it, or add in a little of her own flame to another burning fire. Her brand of flame has proven difficult to put out. Riley likes to joke that pouring milk over it helps, though the actual trick is to deprive it of oxygen. On a large-scale however that would prove problematic. She can also increase the temperature of her skin to an alarming pitch, so as to scald and give first-degree burns to anyone who tries to grab her. But she can’t sustain too high a temperature for too long; Riley has enzymes too that she doesn’t want denaturing.

Background
Riley was born to a mother she can hardly remember. Named Emy, she was tough as nails, and clawed her way out of situations to keep her and her daughter alive. The world was hardly conducive for loving nurture, and Emy was hardly the loving type. Riley would never learn how it came to be that Emy didn’t just toss her infant to the dirt after the labour. But Riley grew up, knees scabbed and skin dirty by age two, knowing how to find grub in the most tasteless of places, and how to protect herself without firearms with knives and her own two hands.

Emy died when Riley was fifteen, and all she knew was that she had been gotten her namesake from an ancient ancestor of Emy’s, who had lived with her toes in green grass and scratching her hands against the trees she climbed. The conversation surrounding that was one of the few memories Riley kept of Emy, that didn’t involve a life-or-death situation.

Another thing Riley quickly found out in the days following Emy’s death was that she had lost her protector, and while she was by no means a hapless damsel, the numbers counted against her. Thus she found herself a pack of bandits, and wormed herself into their ranks with a fearless attitude (faked; she was quaking in her boots), slick tongue, a display of live fire, and by flinging a knife into their leader’s right eye. She can vaguely remember the leader throwing an arm around her shoulders, guffawing and scuffing the crown of her head in welcome while thick red blood gushed from his socket. It took just two minutes for the good cheer to dissipate and be replaced by pain and sickness. But after a nasty bout of infection and fever, and the looting of a travelling band’s doctor, the leader was back on his feet. He was a mad dog, possibly had rabies, but he was always good to Riley after proving herself – in her own way – and was known notoriously as One-Eyed Ovin for the last three years of his life.

Riley continues to travel with the gang of bandits, learning more from them and picking up what scrappy weapons she can along the way. And while she has grown affection for them – they were a family with their admitted quirks – she knows trust between them would be only an invitation for a knife in the back. And so she is smarmy when she deals with the bandits, learning that quick wit and charm defuses the bombs in the group before they blow up. She developed a brand of humour that has kept her alive longer than she otherwise could have, and applies it generously wherever she can. She herself has a weakness for the smooth-talkers, but she remains deadly most of the time. She would like to think she's relatively reasonable and intelligent, but she hasn't had much company outside of the lovable rogue bandits for eight years now. Riley isn’t top dog with the bandits, but she isn’t without cred in their ranks. But she can spend too much time in their company. She's part of a family now, and it's an mad home to be moulded in. She has an innate fear that her rational thoughts are running out, that she might lose all sense of self. Her thoughts have become erratic, and they're losing cohesion. There's zombification, and then there's insanity.

Competence Check: Wolf Situation

A growl rumbled low behind her. Riley froze where she sat, the hand that had been massaging and inspecting a sore ankle stilling. Under one swift breath, she cursed the rat she had been chasing to a short and childless life. Slowly, she craned her neck to gaze at the yellow glowing eyes nestled in overgrown matted fur. As tall as her hip, it towered over her lowered figure. Wrinkling her noise against its breath - putrid even at a distance - she muttered, "You need a mint, mutt." The wolf only snarled in response, one paw creeping forward. Riley's hand fumbled at her belt, fingers creeping under the edge of her shirt, seeking a handle. She found it, and her knuckles curled white around the wooden surface. The wolf was rank with death, as it crouched. It was ready to pounce. Throwing back her elbow, Riley watched the wolf leap into an arc, jaws snapping as spit flew everywhere. With a yell, Riley toppled onto her back. The belly of the wolf became her sky. It had better not be the last thing she saw. She flung out her hand, sent the knift whistling into the air, and with the softest of yelps, the canine fell into a heap above her head. Riley's ankle still ached like a bitch from the failed rat chase, but she groped over her head, and yanked the blade from the wolf's heart. The bundle of sinewy muscles and dirty fur shuddered next to her. Riley lay back on the ground, listening to the thundering heartbeat in her ears, and the dying pulse beside her.

The X-Crew

NOTE: Due to the small size of my group, I would not consider them a faction, and more of a small gang if anything else, hence no faction sheet



The X-Crew, dubbed so by the iconic X's that decorate their clothing, is a group of teenagers who have been travelling throughout Norn Amrika. The newly emerged group all share a common interest, movement. While each have their own individual skills, they are also really good at parkour. They aren't super ninjas by any stretch of the imagination, but the way they can move across almost any terrain is key to their survival, and a pastime for the group when they aren't running away from a bunch of pissed off bandits or a rumbled nests of crawlers. Somehow, they all have a knack for getting into sticky situations but they're nice people, willing to help anyone on their travels, but family comes first and these guys strongly believe that family isn't who you're born with, it's who you'd die with. Their nicknames is from the first letter of their name, but also the colour they wear. They are looking for the wildest adventure and bring colour back to the bleak world, normally by using their scavenged together spray-cans with their assigned colour to spread their message against the totalitarian bandit gangs, which is why they have their own run-ins with bandit organisations.

R-Man, the boss.

Combat Skills: Street brawler. (Like his friends, they can fight, but against specifically trained martial artists or boxers, they'd have a hard time, although unconventional might be what they need in the Cradle)
Armour: "Armour? You only need that if you're taking the bullet, right?"
Weapon/s: A bowie knife, other than that, he's got his X-Fists.

Passive Skills: Parkour, leadership
Special Abilities: X-Fists- The X's on his fist are infused drugs (a mixture of steroids and adrenaline hormones that courses throughout his body which activates when the brain sends the neural command to activate this mixture), which boosts his body to move, punch and kick harder and faster than that of a normal human. However, like any drugs, it's addicting and can permanently damage R-Man if he uses his X-Fists too much.

Background: The oldest of the X-Crew, Randy was the first to teach himself parkour. However, he got himself in some trouble with some bandits which captured him. This is how he got his X-Fists. With no actual value, the bandits tried to turn him into a living weapon by trying their new drug. The scrawny kid became a fighting machine as he beat every single bandit until he walked away, almost unscathed. With a fighting potential, an insight into the world of bandits, and recent parkour, he decided he could get together a crew that were like-minded. Thus the X-Crew was born.

Starting Zone: Wasteland, close to Route A21 towards Lindow from Wilsden.

Competence Check: Randy keeps a low stance, crouching almost as low as the wolf's height itself. When the wolf pounces, Randy rolls left and draws out his knife. As he slides, he braces himself to leap himself. As he does this, he extends his arm to stab the wolf with the knife.

B-Man, the scout.

Armour: "I'm the fastest on the team, and what you can't see, you can't hit."
Weapon/s: Ben's weapon of choice is an extendable stun baton which discharges electricity when he hits someone with it.

Passive Skills: Parkour, scouting (he has the best eyesight and is the fastest, making him the ideal recon man of the team.)
Special Abilities: None.

Background: Ben was always an athletic kid, managing to get stuck on top of really high piles of rubble when his dad had to clamber up himself and other physical antics. When he met the boss, he was an immediate pick and became the second member of the team, using his observative skills and intelligence to help rationalise choices.

Starting Zone: With the X-Crew, travelling to Lindow.
Competence Check: Simple, when the wolf attacks, stun it and book it.

W-Man, the fighter.

Weapon/s: Will is the muscle of the team, carrying around a chain which he either wraps around his fist or uses it as a makeshift whip.

Background: The third member, Will's fighting skill has always been a part of his life, defending his childhood friend from getting beaten up by a bunch of bullies to fighting his way out of a mugging using nothing but a chain he grabbed from on top of a drum barrel. Will's fighting skill completed the next part the X-Crew needed, and with training from the boss and B-Man, Will appreciated the art of moving and parkour.

Starting Zone: Wasteland, with the X-Crew towards Lindow.

Competence Check: Will would dodge and wait for the wolf to be in a vulnerable position so he could wrap his chain around it's neck and strangle it.

G-Man, the talker.

Armour: "If I can't talk our way out, then the crew is gonna run out. Armour weighs us down."
Weapon/s: Garrett carries a Glock-19 pistol, the only one with a gun.

Special Abilities: None.

Background: With his younger brother O-Kid, Garrett and his little brother ran with a very small-time gang that never really got anything done, smoking and being lazy rather than getting shit done. Garrett stepped up and left his old crew, taking his brother with him. Garrett smooth-talked his way from place to place, being his brother's protector at the same. R-Man saw the potential in the two, and after training them up in Parkour as well, they both became valuable assets to the team, rounding off X-Crew.

Race Description: The Athena is a combat robot with high battlefield perception. It has slightly above average speed and fine control agility, making it suited for every parkour. It looks a lot like a human exo skeleton with armor plates. The head is... like the spectres in Titanfall. But their skills at talking and processing info are sketchy at best. They are also self sufficent, recquiring almost no resources. Most of these robots have gone rouge after the -insert catastrophe- and adopted weird behaviours.

Combat Skills: Expert shooter and martial art. He also learned how to use a sword like a real gentlemen.

Armour: It is the best quality alloys from pre catastrophe period. It is good against all damage, and it cannot break, but after time it lets damage through, and falls apart to save structural integrity. Later it can be assembled again. Also his gent suit also offers minimal energy resistance.

Weapon: A walking stick. Yep. It has a gauss rifle inside, and a retractable bayonet. A combat walking stick so to say. Can fire any shell up to 308. caliber. What is a gauss rifle you ask? It propels ammunition at really high speeds. I am speaking of 3-4 machs. It uses electromagnetic indiction to speed them up between 2 parallel rails and coils wrapped around these. This one has a revolving stock inside just to give that extra ammo capacity. and rate of fire.

Special Abilities: Above average speaking skills for Athena robots. As far as gent speak goes. His charisma is undeniable, and no other entity with at least 10 intelligence is able to resist it. If you have that much or not, it is not my problem.

Background: He was a steward bot with a rich gentleman who liked this robot. He thought it was funny to talk to, and with some thinkering, he made it a decent talking partner. Actually the owner's name was Williams, not the robot's. After the catastrophe the robot and Williams were locked in a sfaehouse below the mansion. The robot learned proper gentleman behaviour and talk, and Williams taught it how to swordfight. After he died the robot took over the name and buried his owner in the garden. It stayed in the mansion, and after reading the impressive detective book collection, he created a weird personality for itself. Something that is a lot like Sherlock Holmes. Now he enjoys being a gent, and occasionally helping out in cases of the settlers. He wanders from town to town, and stays there for a few weeks then moves onwards. People generally like him for his vibrating charisma of a gentleman, and it is an undeniably funny sight to see a robot in a jacket, top hat, and a mustache on his face.

Williams stumbles into wolf, staggered. He looks the growling beast in the eyes and calmly exclaims "Oh dear sir I mean no harm! Can't we just politely go on our separate ways? Aggression solves nothing." The wolf lools at him and it realises it won't gain anything from this prey. It howls and walks away.

Meaning, if their brain pattern is of a vampire, they gain the speed, strength, stamina, and enhanced senses of a vampire. They can also appear completely human, if it is needed to blend in. Other supernaturals can not tell the difference and they have a hard a time identifying the person as a Chameleon. Older Chameleon's can change their brain pattern at will though the younger Chameleon's do not possess this ability until they reach eighteen years of age and tend to take on the brain pattern of the nearest adult Chameleon. As well, Chameleon's possess the ability to go completely invisible. When using this, they are able to converse with other invisible Chameleon's though any other species can not hear this conversation. However, just because they can not be seen doesn't mean they can move completely undetected. They still move objects and are fully able to encounter their environment such as bumping into people and tripping. Just as well, their scent is not hidden.

Special Abilities:
Orion has the ability that, if someone is in danger, can gain unbelievable strength, speed, agility, stamina, and enhanced senses that he can use to save that person. This ability will not work if he himself is in danger. He is also able to sense danger, like a sixth sense.

Orion would shove Estelle either behind rumble, or up high before switching his brain pattern to a werewolf. Now stronger than a wolf, Orion would transform quickly into his wolf form and charge at the feral beast before it could make the first move. He would use his faster reflexes to pounce on the beast and lock his jaws around its neck. One snap and it's done. The beast would fall limp to the ground and he would shift back into human form and collect Estelle from where ever he had put her.

Upon seeing the wolf, Estelle wouldn't struggle as Orion placed her somewhere safe. Loki would stand guard in case the beast got around Orion. Estelle would stay hidden and not make a sound to distract Orion. If there came a chance and she had an opening, she would use her throwing knifes to wound the beast and keep it from trying to hurt her brother. Seeing as it would be distracted between her and her brother, it would be very easy for her brother to make a death blow.
