Tim pulled another box out of the back of his beater car. Being inconspicuous sucked. He grunted under the weight of the server filled box and moved as quickly as he could to the door. Which wasn't fast as hampered as he was. He shimmied through the doorway, awkwardly with a large box, before gratefully putting it on the floor with a relieved breath.

With a sharp exhale the twenty-nine year old stood up and rubbed his back. This was a second day of moving in to his new apartment. It wasn't on the cheap side. Nor was it upscale. It was just right to blend into obscurity and to not make Tim want to take a shower every time he entered. Though it did mean that more people were watching him as he moved in. Which was the reason for doing it in a junker and without calling attention to his extremely advanced computer systems.

Tim finished rubbing his back and went to grab another box. Moving all his things was making him feel old. And he wasn't, not when he wasn't even thirty yet. He was only in his late twenties. With all the physical lifting combined with Stephanie breaking up with him, and the case he and Jason were working on for Damian, he was just tired.

Tim placed the final box inside and kicked the door closed behind him. Now it was another five floors up to his apartment. At least this place had a working elevator. Tim propped open said elevator with one of the boxes and began to shift his load.

Nearly a hour later all the boxes were safely sequestered away in his apartment and his car parked in the proper spot. Tim had shelled out extra money to have a two bedroom, one bathroom apartment. He didn't want anyone who came over casually to see his computer system. It was his baby and it would raise uncomfortable questions. And when you're an illegal hacker/vigilante, questions aren't welcomed.

Tim locked the door and flopped down on his love seat. Tim didn't have any recliners, only sofas. He'd rather sprawl than lean back. His restful moment was interrupted by his pocket vibrating. He fished his phone out of his pocket and tapped the screen. A text from Stephanie.

Tim closed his eyes and sighed, letting the cell drop on the cushion next to him. He couldn't deal with Stephanie right now. They had decided to not try a long distance relationship. Or rather, she decided an Tim let her go. But she still wanted to be friends. Tim didn't know if he could. He still loved her. He had loved her since hey had gotten together in High School.

Tim's phone buzzed again. And again. On the third time he grabbed it once more, ready to toss it across the room if it was Stephanie. Instead he saw a miss call from Damian. Tim quickly called the man back.

"Wayne." Damian's voice was sharp in Tim's ear.

"Drake actually." Tim said casually. "You called?"

Tim and Damian had a long relationship. Even before they officially meet each other. The Drake and Wayne family ran in the same circles. Tim and seen Damian around long before they actually socialized. When Tim's parents had passed when he was in his young teens and he became a ward of the state, he saw less of the Waynes. He did receive a marriage announcement for Thomas Wayne. By that time Damian had fallen out of the social circle.

In the years that followed Tim began hacking and making a reputation for himself under the Alias Red Robin. He didn't name himself after the bird, or the restaurant chain. But rather the song by Harry Wood. According to his mother it had been her mother's favorite song. And for years it was his lullaby. Now it honors her memory.

"Are you up?" Damian was never very chatty. Tim knew Damian wasn't asking him if he was awake or even making a innuendo. Rather he was asking about Tim's computer system. Which wasn't finished being reassembled yet. At least he had all his parts now.

"In another hour." Tim replied after a second of mental calculation.

There was a grunt at the other end of the line. An unhappy sound. "Then get working."

Tim flinched, almost as if Damian could see him not working. Thankfully he was saved a response when Wayne hung up. The man sighed and peeled himself off the comfy sofa.

A faint white light peered from the darkness that shrouded the office building. The light shined from the eye sockets of the helmet that Jason Todd wore. The pitch black darkness hid his mask and made him a complete ghost to all but the men that knew he was here. Footsteps echoed through the area, Jason's hearing being more then phenomenal. Three men stepped in front of the stain glass windows and door. Each wore a suit with a holster vaguely peeking out. From just the handles alone Jason could tell what kind of guns they were carrying.

"Mental note. They use shitty guns." Jason thought to himself with a grin hidden by his helmet.

The men entered the door, shaky and hesitant as if they could feel something going on. "Hey." One of the men spoke loudly almost as if they were trying to intimidate Jason, or the man they thought they were meeting, "We brought it." The man speaking pulled a briefcase from behind his back that he had been carrying. Jason smiled, unseen by them, at the mere thought that he had caught these men this easy. They'd soon give up their connection to the one gang that was running things around here, the Black Mask gang.

"Good. Put it on the table." Jason's response was quick and sharp.

"Glad to be doing business with you." The man slowly placed the briefcase on the table whilst eyeing the figure standing on the other side, "You can check it yourself." The man paced back to his original position and Jason took this moment to grab the case, flicking the latches up and opening the case. His eyes were stunned by what he saw and suddenly the lights flickered on in the room from one of the men. This wasn't a payment at all as Jason realized he had been set up. His arrogance and haphazard way of handling criminals brought him to this point. A bomb had been planted in the case and opening the case activated the timer set to twenty seconds.

"FOR THE BLACK MASK! WE GIVE OUR LIFE!" One of the men yelled before withdrawing their handguns from their holsters. Jason took no chances at this juncture. A quick pivot on one foot brought Jason to the windows behind him. Like most high end offices the windows were huge and easily ready for an escape. Withdrawing his own gun from the holster on his left thigh, Jason aimed and fired several times at the window. Bullets shattered the window in just enough time for the vigilante to dive out into the air with no stopping. The bomb exploded as soon as Jason was already falling two floors away. Flames erupting outward and the sheer force shaking his body.

A moment passed as the young vigilante pulled a grappling hook from his black leather coat, saving him from splattering along the ground and bringing him safely to a rooftop nearby. His body rolled across the roof to adjust for the velocity and momentum he had gained and his clothing/armor helped protect him any harm with only a sore joint or two. Dusting himself off before grabbing his phone, Jason was not to happy with the results. This would cause a scene and alert the Black Mask Gang that the Red Hood was on their tail. Hopefully it kept Tim in the dark so he could still keep the stealth approach.

Grabbing his phone from his coat, he sent a message to Tim that the whole thing was a bust and just what had happened. For now Jason would wait for the next incident in town and Tim's reply. These Black Masks gang members were becoming quite the pain. He placed the red hood attached to his hoodie underneath back on his head and watched over Bludhaven's streets intently.

Tim rubbed his eyes as he stared at the glowing computer screens. Some time ago the sun had set and he had missed it. Hadn't even turned on the lights because of how preoccupied he was. So preoccupied that when his phone buzzed Tim jumped and swore. He reached out haphazardly and ended up chasing his phone across the desk and nearly to the floor.

Tired eyes scanned the text message before he sighed. Jason. Jason. Tim sighed again. Jason. He could barely let the guy out of his sights before the moron nearly died. Jason was a trouble magnet. Had been ever since Damian had found the troubled kid. Had a stick so far up his rectum it would never see the light of day. He was a pain in Tim's butt. Still, someone had to look out for the moron.

Tim sighed one last time before shooting back a text that simply read: Car plates. Those gang members had to come in a vehicle and Tim wanted to know. The meeting had been their best lead, but apparently one of his informants was a double crosser. The hacker turned back to his computers. Whoever Black Mask was inspired a lot of terror into his underlings. Kind of like Wayne.

The man cracked his fingers before resuming typing, not even bothering with light. If there was any more movement on the streets tonight, Jason was sure to catch it. Meanwhile Tim needed another lead. Before Jason or Damian called him out. One thing about being extremely good with computers and being a miracle worker, people expected him to preform miracles on demand. And this Black Mask was buttoned up tighter than Fort Knox.

Tim's eyes drifted back to the phone, waiting for Jason's reply. Hopefully the idiot took photos of the car(s) too.
