The Resistance
The great war broke out over the death of a single man, Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Things quickly sparked between serbia and Austria-Hungary. Soon the newly formed Germany entered followed by Russia,France and England. With quick and decisive moves germany began to invade france and Belgium. Russia began an assault on two fronts as well, germany and the Ottoman Empire after some shrewd maneuvering on Germany’s part. The war was bloody and brutal, the Allies begged for the help of the isolated united states, but its leader President Woodrow Wilson couldn’t rally the people, even after the Lithuania sunk killing a reported 128 passengers. Eventually france crumbled, the Central powers were on the verge of also falling, until Kaiser Wilhelm took control of Austria-Hungary, and the newly conquered Italy, and poland. He rallied the people and conscripted those who didn’t join of free will. Russia fell to civil strife and quickly began to be pushed back by the Ottoman Empire. The united states continued to be crippled by the depression, and the people of Canada were slowly losing support of the war. Civil riots broke out in both countries stopping any support to the allies. With England alone they soon began the war on the homefront after when The Central powers launched the then largest beach assault. Using a combination of Air, naval and armored vehicles they took the southern coast of england and entered in a stalemate once they hit London. The British falling back to Guerilla warfare they halted the advances, and slowed any and all assaults.
Southern America soon withdrew support of the war and entered in isolation. The Asian theatre also fell after Japan switched sides and joined the Central powers, they carved a path of destruction and soon took most of china and neighboring countries. With conscripts bolstering Central Power militaries they became nearly unstoppable fighting force. England soon surrendered, though the resistance kept fighting. Calling themselves Red Coats they fought tooth and nail where they could, as German and ottoman troops occupied the country keeping most civil strife in check. The next campaign was the North American Countries, Using insurgent, tactics people flocked to the United states. With the civil unrest the government couldn’t screen or keep out all of the “refuges.” The following year the Central power might arrived on their doorstep, the coastal defence fell to sabotage with troops and equipment flooding the coasts from the Japanese, Ottomans, and Germans. The American military held out for a year or two before collapsing along with the government. Canada’s New government Surrendered without bloodshed. The Central Powers executed American military, and political leaders. The Final standing order was to continue the fights in the streets and to fight until the last man. This is where the American Resistance was born known as the Patriots in the east and Ghosts in the west. They were made up of ex-military and patriotic civilians who wish to see a free’d united states. The Central powers formed into the League of Nations, with Germany At its helm, and the Ottoman Empire and the Imperial Japanese Empire seated the other two main powers.
Here we pick up the story in 1941, Almost twenty years after the war ended, a Chapter of the Resistance known as the Patriotes formed in the fictional city of Wilhelm which has a population of 250,000. It has Two large military bases, one for the newly reformed German Airguard and, The Army’s base of operation in the area. There are many military checkpoints throughout the city and surrounding areas. They use Wilhelm as a main trade hub for the continent most if not all military supplies travels through Wilhelm. Technology has advanced to that of the near 1940’s many of the weapons that were developed for world war two allies won’t be invented, such as the m1 garand, the M4 sherman tank. Although many of the german, weapons have been developed of this time period. Zepplins and airships have become a common site as well as other fantastical inventions. Later there will be a bit of steampunk scifi mixed into the RP, but it will be revealed as things progress. Here both Ghosts and Patriots formed up to recreate a cell in Wilhelm after the previous chapter was rooted out and eradicated. The new headquarters for the cell is located in a an old speakeasy, the bar functions now to only serve a few souls who visit it regularly, all of them part of the resistance. For the resistance it's been a long futile war, with many loses on their side. With no real victories to show in the last twenty years. Guns have been banned across the entire country along with free speech. Making it hard to fight the enemy head on, subterfuge is the only weapon the resistance has left. Supplies, have run vitally low for the war effort, causing many of the chapters to go dark with members becoming fewer and fewer its up to the wilhelm chapter to turn the tide of the battle.
As a player in this roleplay, you will be tasked with Re-arming the chapter, training new recruits, carrying out missions, Spying on the enemy, and causing general chaos for the League of Nations. At the start of the roleplay all of the players will enter the bar, where the first briefing and the planning for the mission will start. The roleplay will progress via missions, and mission plannings. Eventually the main story will pick up and progress in a more fluid fashion.
