Let me tell you, creating a world is a daunting task. From cities to deities, from landscape to races, it can be overwhelming. I have a world, Aethier, and am looking for a brave soul to help me explore it. What sort of setting you ask? Well, let me explain by using some refrences.
It will be low-fantasy, similiar to Game of Thrones.
It will have a gritty style, similiar to The Witcher.
By low-fantasy I mean that magic is not prevelent or overt and non-humanoid races are elusive and rare. As the player, know that magic is a very real, but secretive thing and other sentient races walk the planet. As a Character, magic is something to be day-dreamed about but doesn't exist and the other races are akin to monsters told in stories used to frighten children.
The real monsters exist in the hearts of men. Wars are fought, people are murdered, those with the power make the rules.
What this story entails will certainly be on the darker edge of story-telling, but will not go into extreme detail. Any scenes that have rape/roture/sex will be glossed over and/or faded to black. Your character will be see terrible things, have terrible things done to them and perhaps even do said things.
Without spoiling too much the story will begin with your characters older sister being taken on her wedding day, for the Lord. More will stem off from that event and reason will rise for your character to embark on his/her own... likely for vengence at the start, though it could certainly evolve as time goes on.
Your character will not be what we would consider a 'skilled' character to start. Whatever skills you choose to develope will take place during the story. Of course, if you have a certain vision for your character than let me know. I'm more than willing to work with you.
