All of this is so...strange. Justin looked around at his surroundings, not that there were anything to see except a single door. It was white, seemingly normal, right in front of him. Everything else was just...blackness. He had gotten all of this information explained to him beforehand, but still, this kind of experience was still a bit hard to grasp. Justin walked up to the door confidently, grabbed its handle, opened and took a step into the unknown.

He was faced with a wall of light, but after blinking a few times, everything around him started to slowly return to normal. Or at least as normal as a virtual life could be. The sounds of sirens, moans of pain and shouting voices overwhelmed him. "Out of the way!" Justin quickly stepped back, more out of reflex than anything else. A middle-aged man pushing a patient on a stretcher glared at Justin as he ran past, entering a building. Justin looked up where the building name was spelled on a sign. Freeman Grove Hospital

"Hey. Justin, is it?" Justin turned around at the mention of his name. In front of him stood a handsome, young man dressed in entirely black clothes; the hospital's name and logo visible on the shirt. Justin nodded, too disoriented and frankly, too scared, to speak. The man gave him a friendly pat on the shoulder. "Don't worry. I was freaked out my first day too. But it gets better. I'm Zach." Zach extended his arm in a greeting. Justin shook it with a firm grip; a desperate attempt to recover the confidence he had before stepping through the door. Zach gestured for Justin to follow him and started walking. "You'll be riding with me today." Justin jogged up beside him and they entered a nearby ambulance. He looked at all the equipment and tried remembering all their uses. After all, he would probably have to use them sooner or later. He turned back to Zach in the driver seat. "So, where to?" Zach started the ambulance and put on his seatbelt. Justin followed suit. "Middle Gate Avenue. There's been a fire." Justin took a deep breath and collected himself. This was nothing he'd ever imagined doing, but he could get through this. He had to.
