Being new to the site I want to get the ball rolling with something I know I can do well.
The very first RP I ever ran was a Pokemon 1x1 RP. It was run in person not in a play-by-post format. Since then I've made a lot of adjustments to how that kind of game would work and I am excited to take a would-be trainer through it.
If you have ever wanted to be a Pokemon trainer step up! I'll basically be taking you through the first generation of Pokemon - more if interest continues past that.
Some things you should know:
- Keep announcements about outcomes light. I prefer players control just the actions of their characters, not any NPCs. In this game I'm trying to give you a unique and memorable experience of being a Pokemon trainer more so than creating a collaborative story. That isn't to say you won't effect the outcome of the story - you will through the actions and choices of your character. That means I prefer you don't assume an outcome will be successful, or for that matter a failure.
- The world your playing in is my own take on the Pokemon universe. Things may be different than what your familiar with. If you are open to that I think you'll enjoy it. Not drastically different just - I've fixed what I feel are a few bugs and oddities about the franchise.
- Combat does have some statistics but you won't be aware of any of them. I play completely mathless for the player. You'll know how strong your Pokemon is or is getting based on its performance in battle not by numbers.
- The game will feature a lot of puzzles and scenarios for you to solve. Pokemon may be useful outside of battles quite often.
- Additionally there will be some focus on general adventuring. Making sure your supplied for camping out for the night, that sort of thing. After all you're a kid wandering around the world by yourself with a backpack - its not all catching cute little monsters and making them fight!
I will try to post daily and no less than twice weekly. Possibly more as time allows. Please let me know if anyone is interested and if you have any questions. Looking forward to playing with you!
