[OOC] Hybrid High

Hidden from the public view for generations by the government, half human - half animal beings exist. Sectioned off for their own safety, guarded and studied but left in peace to live until the two came to the agreement that it was time to mingle. Now, with the monsters in full view, a school has been built for the young representatives of their species. In this school, mostly made of monsters, human children of weather families and coporations learn side by side with the generation of monsters.

Filled with love, drama, spite and all those fun things in school, the danger is doubled when the monsters can kill you. Will you volunteer?

Rules and Expectations
From here on out, this is a low casual - high free role play. Meaning, make an legit attempt not to use one liners and keep the story going. Grammar should be understandable at worst. At best, as good as it can be. Everyone needs to improve everything all the time after all.

There is no limit on characters, though I expect each be played as if they are a true individual instead of just a carbon copy of someone or something. Keep them all active. If I deem you unable to handle multiple characters, I will take those unused from you and give them a probable reason to have left the school.

The male to female ratio should be even. The school itself wants everything to work out well, and thus must balance things like this. Washrooms for large species, and those for humanoid species for example. There is no segregation between humans and hybrids. Though I do expect some prejudice. The human to monster ratio should be unbalanced, since it's mainly a school for hybrids. This means, less human characters.

As per Guild Rules, and common sense, all issues will be brought to me and discussed in private to prevent further embarrassment. If I say something doesn't work, don't argue with me; change it.

Personality Hypatia is extremely intelligent and considers herself a proud nerd although she doesn't come off as one at first. She seems more like a hippy or tree hugger. She tends to be a bit of a loner although she is very flirty and is pan sexual. She has a strong sense of justice and seeing injustice is one of the few things that will make her lose her temper, and when she does lose her temper, watch out! She tends to have a bit of a problem with authority figures as they usually let her down. She also has a great love for music and a fascination with moths.

Biography Hypatia's mother was the leader of a clan of satyrs and her father was a hybrid teacher. Both of them fostered in her a deep love for knowledge and encouraged her exploration into the world. She learned from a very early age of the way her kind were viewed by humans and it has always upset her. She encouraged her mother to try and change things. She was involved with efforts to try and change peoples perceptions of hybrids. She had very few friends growing up and her most treasured possessions was her telescope. She longed to be able to show her talents and theories to the world. She wanted to be able to study at the great colleges and see the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory. During her teenage years she became even more secluded after she applied to a human school and was rejected despite her IQ being that of a certified genius. A few years ago she began working with her mother and others to push for the formation of the academy. Due to her high IQ her desire, for humans and hybrids to get along, and her mothers status in the hybrid community, she was selected to be one of the hybrid students.

Personality - Ray is a pretty happy guy. He has a lot of self-control and patience for others and a genuin interest in all of their stories. This has made it very easy for him to get along with lots of people. Sometimes making friends with people who hate each other. He doesn't really have a click, instead he has all of the clicks. Even though he has his clubs, it's not rare to see him drop in on other clubs as well. He is pretty smart and very thoughtful. He doesn't have the most knowledge, but he uses his knowledge to it's fullest potential. He is pretty good at sounding like he knows what he is doing even if he may not know. He also knows when another really knows their stuff and could shut him down, so he doesn't really try around them. Instead he just tries to learn to gain more ammo for another encounter. Ray's personality can change from person to person. He tends to be sort of a people pleaser, but he just sees it as being entertaining. Some people just really can't read a room and he tries to not b that person. If he is enetering into a new environment he can be quieter at first, until he gets the feel of those around him. He can get haughty some times as well. He tries not to show it, but he can start to view people as below him. He doesn't like this habit, and tries to stop, but some people make that very hard. He can also be cold at times. He is pretty selfless and will be sacrificial to help others, but at the same time gives little pity when bad things happen.

Biography - Ray's mother was head of the Crane clan and his father was the CEO of a major shipping corporation. The Crane clan was a very powerful and prideful clan amongst the hybrids. The pride of the clan was rather spread out amongst several areas as well, which is probably how they came to be so powerful. The cranes were very smart and wise in the ways of government and economy. They capitalized on all of their resources very carefully and maximized their value. The cranes were proud of all of their peoples achievments. Physical prowess held no height above the mental and vice versa. Geniuses, athletes and warriors were all rewarded the same if they achieved the height of their field. Many would cross fields as well. A dumb warrior was not held in very high regard, even if he was strong. The same went for weak Geniuses. The cranes society was one of constant growth. As long as everything was being used to it's fullest potential, then it was good. These ideals were engrained into Ray as well. His mother and father did love each other, but the fact they were both powerful figures solidified their marriage much more. It was a no brainer for the family and quite obvious that Ray would be attending this new prestigious school for hybrids. Ray grew up with big expectations put on his shoulders. He was intimidated by it when he was younger, but now he has come to find that he can do anything he wants and as long as he does it well, then he has met the crane standard.

Personality - Yutaka is kind and helpful to those he are close with. Although getting on the 'friend' side isn't quite easy since he has a short temper and tends to get shy and awkward around a lot of people. He is on the average side when it comes to studying. He isn't actually acting lazy nor is he doing any special things to improve his studying. She doesn't necessarily hate humans but don't like them either. Any interactions with humans are either because he needs to or he had an argument with them. He is actually very caring towards animals [non-hybrids] and tends to make friends with them. Like his animal half, he tends to be very mischievous and sneaky. He has a tendency to steal stuff from other people, may they be human or hybrid, student or teacher. He can get into a lot of fights thanks tot his but that is if he can get caught.

Biography - Yutaka's tribe is actually pretty scattered but meet every once a month to take back any findings they get. Despite them just seeing each other once a month, they still elected a leader. They base it all upon the amount of valuable things they bring back. The current leader of their small scattered tried is Yutaka's father. When they all met again, they were given a note about the whole hybrid-human school. Yutaka's father practically forced the young tanuki-human hybrid to attend school saying that he'll learn a lot from there and they practically need to do it anyway.

Personality - She is kind and helpful towards others, especially towards her friends. She is actually pretty smart and can practically cram tons of information into her head. It was... photographic memory, they called it. She doesn't hide it at all; Akiko is a gamer, an anime lover and a freelance writer. Akiko can be very shy towards those she just met for the first time. She isn't actually quite good at social interactions with people whom she has to approach. She gets nervous easily and tends to hide in her books, writing, gaming or anime. Despite hailing from a rich family, she acts humble. She is a good cook, since her family has rice farms.

Biography - The Kawamura family is a rich Japanese family. Their rice farms have been producing rich grains ever since the Edo Period. Every generation has been said to have been blessed by the Gods which gives them all the successful rice harvests. When Akiko was just a child, she got addicted in a lot of things like watching anime, playing games and reading books. She didn't have a lot of friends when she was a kid since she was particularly shy and instead just enjoys her own hobbies. When she got in her teenage years, she started to write stories and post them up the internet. Through her family's connections, she managed to publish books herself and make some profit out of it making her a full-fledged freelance writer.

Soon enough, her family got a note stating that they were looking for students. Originally, her father didn't want anything to do with it but after news reached Akiko's ears about the hybrids, she convinced her father to let her go there. He asked why and she simply replied with, "Because hybrids seem to be interesting. And you know, I think I just might be able to make friends with them." And so her father just gave up and sent her to the school. She was in college by then, going for a literary course so she can be more of a professional writer.

So, I have a few comments. But I don't want to shut you down entirely. Unfortunately, these hybrid students had never entered the country before being enrolled at this school. Since all of them are representatives of their tribes and species. Second, why would your human even have a chance of being enrolled in the school? Only powerful families children get to go, since they're meant to make good impressions and maintain healthy relationships with the newcomers.

Appearance - She has long white hair with blue highlights. Her eyes are bright blue. Her skin is completely white. She has white wings which she folds at her back and she has black eyeshadow, mascara and eye liner around her eyes and reddish orange lipstick. She has a long neck and long legs compared to her body. Biography - When she was born, her parents took care of her like usual. They were high status out of the Swan hybrids until her older sister betrayed them but they managed to keep their status just and as the highest ranking her age, she got chosen to sent to this school. Her sister had disappeared when she was 10 and Liliana tried to search for her but it felt like she was gone forever.

Appearance - He has orange hair and white highlights, it goes near to his shoulders. His eyes are brown and he has fox ears and a tail. He is quite small but moves fast. He doesn't have much muscle but he has an excellent sense of smell and his nose is slightly pointed. His ears twitch a lot, picking up sounds from quite far away.

Biography - His parents are high status and they let the community of Arctic Fox hybrids choose who they wanted to go and they chose him. His parents were often busy so he looked after his 3 younger siblings a lot. He was the oldest by 10 years as he has an 8 year old brother, a 4 year old sister and a 2 year old sister.

Personality: Gwen is a kind and caring hybrid, always trying to help out her friends, and even random others, at that. She is also the adventurous sort, has been ever since her older brother starting taking her on his wanderings around [insert areas where Hybrids were], never bothered by not technically being allowed to be there.

She has, however, always been quite shy, taking a while to warm up to people most of the time, which is helped not at all by her anxiousness around humans, caused by some, intended as silly, campfire stories her older brother told her when she was just a kit of 6. She also has tendencies towards being a follower, more submissive than leader-y, more likely to let someone else take the lead, rather than taking it herself.

Personality - Noah seems very cold on the outside, but he is extremely nice on the inside. He tries to hide all his feelings, which sometimes leads to problems. He wants to be friendly, and he can be, but he is unable to reach out to people, especially girls. Because he is good looking, girls always try to talk to him. This does not work, as Noah is not interested (CURRENTLY), and he can be shy. He likes to play basketball in his free time to get all the stress off from hiding his feelings. Although he is hard to become friends with, once he becomes good friends with somebody, he is an open book. He keeps no secrets, and tells no secrets. He's very trustworthy. He will most likely stick with his best friend, unless something happens between them.

Biography - Noah's parents are extremely strict, and he didn't enjoy being under their roof, which is why he left as soon as he became the legal age. Thanks to that, Noah constantly feels like he has no home, even though he is renting a small condo nearby the school. When Noah was younger, he wasn't sure why people would scream and run off as soon as they saw him, until he realized that not everybody had wolf ears, paws, and tails. He wandered aimlessly prior to the government contacting for him to get into the school he is in now. Although the school has some human children, Noah is fine with it, as long as they don't scream and run off.

Personality – Varin is mischievous and playful he’s the one friend that will always be up for a bit of fun and due to his smaller stature he can generally get he and his group of friends out of most situations. Extremely intelligent for his age in part to being a half dragon Varin loves his studies and deplores anyone who looks down on that.

Biography – Varins birth and most of his life was kept a secret from most of society aside from his mother father and grandfather no one even knew a half- dragon was a possible existence. His father human and mother and grandfather both dragons Varin grew up learning of the rich deep heritage of his family from both sides and how humans played a part in the dwindling numbers of his mother’s kind. It didn’t end there as his father had did his best to explain that not all humans were bad and Varin was living proof of that having the best of both worlds with being human and dragon. “But was that it” Varin often thought to himself wondering if there were other humans that were good aside from the ones of old that his father had explained to him. His wondering had come to a halt when his grandfather had approached him with a chance to attend an academy of sorts that would house both humans and hybrids and it was there that he could formulate and make his own decision as to humans and even other races being good and evil. And with a few strings being pulled in part of his grandfather early acceptance into this academy had become a reality.
