Your dreams of Pokemon adventures are swiftly interrupted by the sound of your alarm clock.
“Poko! Poko! Poko!”
You wearily open your eyes. You are lying on top of your bunk bed in your room in Pallet town. Your room is full to the brim with Pokemon memorabilia. Posters on your closet door, magazines, books, and souvenirs. On your desk is your computer, monitor still flickering but blank. Beneath you is your dresser - cluttered with socks and gymnastics equipment hanging out of half open drawers. You fell asleep with the video channel playing again, watching the most recent televised tournament. You can’t remember who won. You must have fallen asleep in the middle of the broadcast. Next to the computer is the Poke-ball shaped alarm clock still blaring and vibrating, “Poko! Poko! Poko!”.
It vibrates off the table and clasps shut, stopping the sound.
Still sleepy, you notice the rays of sunlight peering in through the window.
A voice calls from downstairs. It is your mother. “Emily! Emily Rose, I hope you’re awake!”
You suddenly remember that today is the day Professor Oak will announce if any of the towns eligible ten year olds and up will be admitted into Pokemon trainer orientation.
You leap out of bed and bump your head on the ceiling. You are still in your pajamas.
