[The One]

Renji

It was a mew year for Arcane Academy, it was time to meet the new students and get this year started. Of course, nobody knew, that today was the day everything they thought they knew changed. Today was the day history was made. Renji walked through the grand hall slowly and stood at the stand. He turned on the microphone and slowly leaned forward.

"All students, new and old please attend to the Grand Hall. I repeat, all students, new and old please attend to the Grand Hall. Thank you."

He placed his papers on the stand and gently brushed himself off. He pushed up his glassed for a minute then tightened up his tie. He thought that everything be go as planned, as it always did. It was the same every year, with a few minor changes every so often but normally the opening Assembly was the same. He awaited the students as he stood at the stand.

Leo

Leo was walking through the halls heading for the Grand Hall when he heard a strange voice "He is here..." He stood still for a few minutes, wondering if he really just hear a voice in his head, or he was just hearing things, but then he heard it once more. "He is here." Leo was surprised, he could hardly believe it. It had been centuries, and now, the egg finally decides to choose somebody. He never thought it would happen in his lifetime. He knew what he had to do. He tuned back and headed for his room, once there he opened his wardrobe and moved his clothes to the side. He then pulled one of the hangers down, turned it around then pushed it in and as he did there was a clicking sound. The back of the wardrobe opened revealing a large egg. He picked it up and created a bone casing for it, then headed back to the grand hall closing his wardrobe behind him. As he did it returned to normal. Once he had arrived at the Grand Hall he was relived to see the Headmaster had yet to give his speech and walked over to his chair, as he passed the Headmaster he spoke to him with a smile on his face.

"I apologize for being late, I forgot the students class assignments and schedule for the year."

He than took his seat and waited for the opening Assembly to begin. The egg was hidden in the bone casing. So, as the students pick up their things, the egg would feel the person's presence. So when the right person came and grabbed their things, the egg would hatch. It was a way to find the owner without everyone making a huge scene over the egg.

Arianna hummed to herself as she stood near the stove, cooking up something for Riyven. Today was a rather important day for her niece. She would begin studying at the magical school nearby and that was exciting in itself. Arianna always thought it interesting to watch children develop their affinity for magic and what their callings were. Finishing making the eggs, she placed two of them onto a plate along with some sausages and oatmeal.

Riyven groaned as she emerged from her room and rubbed her eyes. She was already dressed in what she was planning to wear to school - it being her leather thigh-high boots, and a red tunic with a protective plate over her chest, and leather gloves. She yawned as she tied off her hair behind her and smiled towards her aunt. "Morning, Auntie." She greeted, sitting in front of her plate and began eating. "I can't believe today is the day that I start magic school!" She grinned after she had yawned, continuing to eat. She couldn't help but wonder who her classmates were going to be, and what they would develop into. Her aunt laughed at her and sat down with her making some idle conversation until she was finished eating. "Maybe you'll have a thing for plants like me?" Arianna teased.

"As much as I love you Auntie, I have to be my own person too." Riyven smiled, as she put her plate into the sink. "Alright! I'm headed out now, wish me luck. I'll tell you all about it." She grinned before snatching up a leather satchel and walking out of the door, and towards her new school. She arrived in about twenty minutes and reported to her desinated instructor's classroom. A Mr. Renji..She found his class soon enough, and got in line with other students, as they picked up what would be pretty much a starter kit. Finally Riyven was passing into the room and grabbed her kit excitedly. She was so excited that this was happening today of all days!

[The One]

Renji, Leo Frost

He smiled, as one by one, student came up and grabbed their stuff and went to sit back down. Although, as the last person who was Riyven came and grabbed their stuff, the entire school began to shake violently. So violent that Renji fell on his ass. Then, his brain was overloaded with intense magical power. He screamed loudly as he held his head. What was going on, how could anything be so much stronger than everyone in this school? The school was starting to crumble with the amount it was shaking, it was becoming unstable. Leo had already stood up at this point. He had been waiting, knowing that with Riyven being the last person, it had to be her. It was then that giant shards of ice began to shoot up from the ground, instantly killing a few hundred students, and injuring a few thousand as they jumped out the way. Leo quickly made a dome made out of bone protecting the students who had survived including Riyven. All the sprinklers were then set of and acidic rain began to pour down on the bone dome. Luckily it was strong enough to protect the students. When it was all over he stopped protecting the students, letting them out of the dome with a sigh. Suddenly, a huge blinding light covered the entire hall, and a cry was heard. When the light disappeared, a baby dragon stood. It looked about slowly, then stretched itself out. The students who survived the birth instantly armed themselves. Renja stood up and flipped over to the students.

"What in God's name is going on here? What is that thing? Well, I know what it is but how is it possible? A dragon in my school, but.....who!"

He looked at the Dragon's forehead, and watched as a mark was burned onto his head. Then he quickly looked to Riyven, seeing the same mark be burned onto her forehead. He stood back slowly, how did a dragon egg get into his academy, how did it even survive the war.

"It's all true, Dragons did exist in the past but how did this egg survive the war, how did it even get in the academy?"

He created a spear made out of sound, he was in shock but he would not let that stop him. He would defend his students no matter what. Of course, nobody really knew what happened. If only they would of known, that when a dragon was born all their power that they had been building up just explodes, and Frost had been building his power for thousands of years now.

As Riyven's hand left the pile of starter packs, the ground underneath her and students nearby began to shake. "What in the world?!" She gasped, as she did her best to keep her footing - more than a few students not being able to move quick enough out of the way were pierced swiftly. Her eyes widened slightly. Was this..a way to weed out students..? She watched as pieces of the ceiling came falling town - she saw a young man with brown hair put up some kind of hardened dome around her a few other students that managed to escape the ice shards.

A few students began crying - having already seen their comrades fall on the first day of class. She heard soft hissing above them, not being aware of the acid raid sprinklers. They were out of the dome soon enough though, and after a blinding light that she shielded her eyes from they saw what caused the sudden scene. Some kind of reptile thing...? Riyven blinked, kind of confused. That small thing caused all this damage? However, the people around her took on a defensive stance. In awe, she saw a mark of sorts burn its way onto the dragon's forehead, and raised an eyebrow towards Renja as he stared at her. Feeling her forehead get hot, she quickly felt her head and was surprised to feel a slight indentation of something. She frowned, and glanced towards everyone. "D-Dragon?" She questioned. "Woah, wait -- what about that mark on it's head? What about my head? What just happened?!" Riyven asked, feeling herself getting into a panic. She looked towards Frost, unsure what to really make of him. Should...should she casually say hi even though he just killed the majority of potential students in the academy?

[The One]

Renji, Leo and Frost

Leo watched as everyone got ready to attack, Leo quickly stood in front of everyone, standing in between them and Frost. Now that he had finally awoken, he would not let him die, no matter what happened. He spoke in a calm voice hoping everyone would understand what he was about to say.

"Everyone, calm down. Let me explain. Riyven, that mark on your head, the same mark on the dragon's head, it means you are now his trainer and guardian. You two are bonded together. For those who do not know, this dragon is no ordinary dragon. He is the Dragon King, the last line of royalty. Do you realize what that means? A lot of people will be coming after him. Not just he is in danger anymore. Riyven, your life is also in danger. You see, if he dies, so do you. Any injury you feel, he feels. You two share more than just the mark. You share feelings, emotions, you can even learn to see through each other's eyes. This dragon is not dangerous. The only reason he killed so many students today was because he hatched. When dragons hatch all their power that they built up in that egg explodes, and he has been building his power for thousands of years."

He looked around slowly, as he did Renji slowly lowered his weapon as well as most of the students. However, some kept their weapons out, ready to attack at a moment's notice. Renji stepped forward with a sigh, he wasn't sure what to do honestly.

"So, you're telling me if we kill this dragon, Riyven dies too? In that case, I'm glad dragons are extinct. I wouldn't want my hands in the life of a damn dragon. Well, for now I suppose we can cage it and lock it up somewhere."

He looked around to the other students but his attention was directed to Frost and he yawned loudly. He sprouted wings made from ice and flew up slowly, then simply sat on Riyven's shoulder. As he did, the wings disappeared. He spoke calmly, though his voice was obviously young.

"Cage me up? You can't do that. Do you realize that Dragon Hunters are probably already on their way here? If you cage me up how am I meant to defend myself?"

He looked around slowly, Renji turned his attention to Riyven for a moment before looking back to Frost. Frost didn't bother stating his name, as he knew Riyven would know it already simply because she was his trainer and guardian.

She watched as the boy who had put the dome up earlier stood in the path of the dragon from the others. He must have known she was confused, and went about explaining what it was and her relationship towards the dragon that just hatched. Dragon King? Royalty?! She glanced towards the small dragon and blinked, uncertain.. However, the teacher moved forward, and she frowned at his comment. It shouldn't have bothered her but it did.. "But you would be more than willing to die at the hands of a comrade?" She curiously asked, raising an eyebrow. "That doesn't make much sense, though..." She shook her head, and watched as he landed on her shoulder. Riyven instinctively went up and began stroking Frost's scales.

"If it's okay with you, Professor," Riyven began, looking towards Renji. "I would like to continue studying here with Frost as my partner. That's why I'm here. To learn, and I think that just because I have a dragon now shouldn't change why we are here. Hell - let's welcome the hunters! That just means more action and chances to test and develop our skills and techniques, doesn't it?!" She asked, excitedly. "Oh - and..who are you? I can't thank you enough for earlier with your dome sheild thing earlier." She asked, glancing towards Leo. "How do you know about Frost, by the way?"

[The One]

Leo, Renji Frost

Leo looked to Renji for a moment, staring at him before looking towards Riyven with a smile on his face. He was glad that she was accepting of Frost. However, he had no idea what the Dragon's name was.

"My name is Leo, I am one of your teachers, in more than just one way now. As I was one of the original members of the Dragon Knights. Although, you should know that the Dragon Hunters will not be easy to beat. They are powerful, very powerful. If you thought your dragon was strong just then, then that is nothing compared to what you will face. Mind you, it is nothing compared to his real power either. What is his name by the way?"

Frost smiled brightly at Riyven's comment. He was glad she accepted him. He made the right choice when choosing her, he was sure of that. He looked to Leo, hearing his question for a moment and then gave a small nod to him.

"My name? My name is Frost. Nice to meet you."

It was then that a huge Dragon came crashing through the walls of the academy with wings made of fierce lightning. It roared loudly and and stared at Frost who sat upon Riyven's shoulder still. The dragon spoke in the human tongue, knowing it was very unlikely he would know the language of their own kind.

"Frost, you're finally awake. It's nice of you to show your face after thousands of years, but now you die!"

He roared loudly once more and shot a huge fire blast, as he did Frost jumped down and created a huge ice wall depending himself as well as all the students. The fire blast hit the ice wall, not even leaving a scratch. After that the large dragon flew at Frost, attempting to dig his claws into his neck. Frost waited until he got close, then he walked into the ice wall and vanished. Suddenly, an icy floor appeared at the back of the academy and he came out quickly. As he did, he spoke calmly but quickly.

"Who are you? Why are you trying to kill me?"

He watched the other dragon closely. He didn't know who this dragon was, but he was obviously not a good one. Renji stood back once more and created a spear made out of sound once more.

"I am guessing this Dragon isn't a friend of the Royal Family."

He slowly stood back, this dragon looked strong, very strong. He would fight back against this dragon but honestly this was not going to be easy at all.

(I will update his profile tomorrow. By the way, feel free to have Riyven use enchanted bow magic. This includes elements, poison arrows, exploding, heat seeking, etc. Just be creative as possible.)

Riyven could have sworn she said her dragon's name - but it must have slipped right by everyone else. And another crashing sound came as a much larger dragon landed in the academy hall. What was with today?! He wasn't even looking at her, but at Frost on her shoulder instead. The larger dragon wasted no time in attacking, but Frost was swift in defending everyone, even if they were about to have a go at him just moments earlier. She liked that - it was commendable.

She watched in awe as he vanished into the ice, and she watched him come out of another spot trying to talk to this other dragon. Riyven frowned, and moved over towards Frost, and stood in front of him, glaring at the older dragon even though he was obviously much bigger and stronger than she. "Hey! Who do you think you are just barging in here and tearing up our school just cause you feel like it?!" She hissed. "And for that matter - Frost is with me now, and you're wasting your time picking on someone who just got their bearings in the world. It's hardly fair! How about you come back when we can kick your ass in a more suitable fashion? Cause I kind of need to learn how to kill you if hurting Frost is your objective." Riyven dug her heels in, grounding herself.

[The One]

Frost, Regnorok and Leo

Both Frost and Regnorok listened to Riyven, and after she had finished speaking Frost stepped forward slightly. He would protect her, he had to. She was his trainer and guardian now, and he knew Regnorok wasn't going to leave without a fight. He took a deep breath as he stared at Regnorok, and he stared back. Frost stepped forward again and spoke out loud.

"Everyone, without training, you are no match for this dragon. Let me handle this, don't worry I should be able to do it."

Leo listened to him and gave a nod. He knew he would be able to help as he was once a Dragon Knight, but he wanted to see what Frost could do. Renji also agreed, and stood back. He looked to everyone before shouting out.

"Everyone, step back, let Frost handle this."

He smiled as he looked to Frost who had been staring down Regnorok. Suddenly, Frost sprouted ice wings and flew up high, as he did Regnorok fire a lightning blast that electrocuted all the walls, but with Frost being small, he was fast as well. He flew, span and turned, dodging the attacks of Regnorok. After he had done attacking Frost created an ice wall just in front of Regnorok. He flew into it and as he did one appeared behind him. He flew out with an amazing amount of speed and before Regnorok could react, he received three powerful blows to the head as Frost shot out ice blasts at him. He then turned quickly and flapped his wings as hard as he could, sending a large amount of ice spikes at Regnorok which pierced him, injuring him greatly. He roared out loudly and in his moment of anger, he slashed Frost with his claw, cutting his right cheek and sending him flying. Sudden, a large cut would appear on Riyven's right cheek, showing how they were connected. Regnorok spoke loudly as he walked up to Frost and stood over him.

"I will be glad when you are gone, worm!"

He crushed Frost in that moment and smiled, however, it seemed to have no effect on Riyven. Which only meant one thing. Regnorok, with that, grew lightning wings and flew away, believing that Frost was now dead as he had no idea on the relationship between Dragon and Guardian. If he had, he would of attacked Riyven instead.

Riyven blinked as Frost had taken steps forwards towards the larger dragon. She made a motion to grab him but he began speaking. She bit her lip slightly, knowing that with virtually no knowledge of how to even go about fighting the larger beast, they would all fail. Even though he told them not to worry, and it seemed to ease some students nerve, Riyven frowned. Sure, he might have had enough stored power to pretty much kill a couple dozen students, but this was a full grown dragon who clearly was out to kill him.

Casting a glance towards Leo, she regretablly took a few steps back and watched as the battle commenced. She could hardly keep up with the speed at which Frost was flying and shook her head, feeling a little dizzy. Her right cheek burned and she hissed, cupping it instinctively with her hand. "What the hell...?" She touched the place she had been cut and looked at her fingers. Oh...so...this was how this was going to work...

Seeing Frost get crushed, she panicked immediately but then realized nothing was happening to her. Why wasn't she in some kind of agonizing pain or something..? He soon flew off and Riyven waited for Frost to reveal himself, afraid to call out to him - fear that Regnorok would hear and come back to finish him off for real.
