I'll have you know I passed my knowledge test for my driver's license yesterday.

Next on the to do list is preparing for a D&D session this Sunday.

Then I'll knock out the Yorumpost.

On your first try?! Hah, I remember when I was 15 I took the knowledge test for a learner's permit for granted and assumed it'd be easy, then failed it because of a bunch of odd questions about the meaning of road signs that you never even see.

Yup, first time. I mostly transferred driving knowledge from home (by playing the give-way game in mirror mode) but what with the imperial system, marijuana being legal, and the test being a stickler for having you memorise the number of years of jail/probation or the dollar amount of fines you'll be dealing with if you drink and drive, I kinda had to study.

Also, Washington state has a couple of weird road rules that don't make sense to me, like flashing yellow arrows and being able to turn across the oncoming lane at a red light specifically if you're going into a one-way road.

Anyway, I've not got an awful lot left to do with the Yorumpost. One or two more solid sit-down sessions with that piece should have it ready.

Good job, my guy!

Edit: a teaser from my post coming up.

Kri looked forth and into the cave. “Gods damnit,” he groaned in annoyance before a beast slammed into him.

Orphan did nothing but laugh at the obvious comedic timing of the situation that would make any audience laugh hysterically.

What I was saying is that I let you win, of course.

I know about winter and earthquakes and tropes and long posts, but am just as ignorant to editing as Cuumulo is to faith. That ignorance is what allows me to write entire posts in single sessions! There's no competing with that!

It was a good read, as BBeast said, and your portrayal of Cuumulo was also great. Nevermind the writing of his dialogue being like some Jvanic cancer, just imagine how awful Aihtiraq's can get.

I don't think it'd be terribly unusual for him to take the shape of a hain. I don't know if I've explicitly managed to say as much IC, but I always imagined that most djinn would take on a shape similar to that of the being that they address, or else just remain in some favored and decidedly inhuman default appearance. Most pictures of generic elementals have them look vaguely humanoid and many of the djinn are seen from the perspective of Vetruvian or Rukban shamans, so that's probably the source of any perceived humanoid bias in their portrayals.

Feck.

Sorry, 'bout that. You may still be able to find the song on youtube or elsewhere if you go looking, but that portion of the post can still be read without the music. I'll just have a harder time emotionally manipulating you 'giving you permission to feel emotion,' as I heard one composer say in an interview once.

@Cyclone Aye, thank you for the encouragement. I'll hand-wave Edda's perspective on the shape djinn take by saying her experience with djinn is very limited to her Xerxean days and/or she's only read accounts of human shamans interacting with them. That 'shape of the being they address' now has canon precedent, though! Y'know...unless it already did and I just missed it.

Wow, I just decided to click on that image and look closer at it. There's so many gems!

Minecraft wiki?
Cookie clicker?
Maybe a few hints about various collabs going on?

I had went on an read that part of the post without the song. The second piece of music linked worked fine, though.

>Looks to see that four out of the six posts since the turn started were ones he wrote in.
>Sees uncooled barrels about to melt.

I think I need to step back for a bit. xD

By the way, Capy, not sure if I remembered to mention this, but I was reminded by scrolling of your post where the new writing system was made out of flowers and ribbons.

I just want to mention, I really friggin' enjoyed that. Just sayin'.

@Muttonhawk You hadn't mentioned it yet. Thank you.

I have no hopes of doing something like the epic-like nature of Yorum or Eskandar stuff, I simply don't have the skill or flair to do something like that riddle battle (which was great). Beyond skill, I also don't have much of the interest, since I don't think the stories of Mesathalassa fit the style anyway.

That said, I hope I can at least make something slightly memorable. I have spent a lot of time worldbuilding the region, and I am satisfied with what I have done so far, even though much of it has yet to be explored.
