From what I've seen, this site has very few set in stone rules. WE COULD TOTALLY FORM A LURKER GROUP! :O!!! Just... like 30 of us. Randomly go onto one of the top threads. Just... sit while they do their thing. Yeah, a lot of sites do have it. One of my main video-game information forums from a while ago had it... Actually I put it as a feature in the old RP site I used to run, but it was only a small group of ten or so people so it wasn't really a big deal. It was kinda just more to check to see if maybe someone is going to write a post. I guess that's what this one's used for, but there's a lot more people.

I AM RAMBLING! If setting up a large lurker group will help you get used to it, then I am down. >:3

Wooooah, a lurker group! Now that I think about it, actually not a bad idea! Hah, I wonder if anybody would be creeped out. Right, right, that's probably what gets me nervous. People see me in the thread, people think I'll post... But I don't post. I'm guilty of not posting, from time to time.

I think if we got enough people, we could creep someone out. Or if you just keep lurking enough that someone recognizes your name, and that you're just there all the time doing nothing. Could be fun.

Oh yeah, lurking and not posting, but then someone thinking you might is a real danger. I got hounded by people on the video-game forum all the time when I showed up as online because they wanted help with gear and stuff. I didn't mind helping or anything but sometimes I just want to browse stuff at 3am drugged and half asleep. Which is actually what's going on here, which miiiiight be why I sound insane.

Joke or not... could be fun. :D Also HELLO ALL OF YOU LURKERS... if you're there, right now there's no real lurkers. COME JOIN THE FUN!?

Don't worry, I make a lot of speculative things into truth :D. LURKERS UNITE! Also, as long as you have a good reason (procrastinating, in some situations I find, is acceptable), you don't have to worry about not posting. We need to gather more people for this thing. And they have that thingie down there because it makes things much more lively and it's good to know whether you can talk to someone in an OOC.

And @Ninian, the base three meaning Free, Casual, Advanced.

People have done the same to me, I haaaaate it. At times, all I wanna do is look around the site and whatnot! Having people on your tail is never fun, although I feel weird not showing up as online too.

Ohhhhhhh! I wouldn't mind doing arena with a good partner, but battle RPs are hit or miss for the most part. As long as the other partner is playing to have fun and not to win, it's fine. 1x1 is fine, but I know most of that forum is ERP-ish. In its true meaning, then yeah that's my currently most successful RP-style. Nation... I tried it as a Pokémon-nation thing on Reddit... I don't think it's my thing, sadly. Aaand finally I don't do Tabletop because that's far too much math in my roleplay. The one time I did it online on Roll20 where it was less math, it was more like playing a strategy game than a roleplay. Didn't really get into my character.

Oh to throw it out there, I'm probably more suited to Advanced, but sometimes I'm lazy and don't want to take an hour to write a post, so Casual it is. Plus I rapid fire if someone's around. Can't really rapid fire a novel. (My rapid fires are like 3 paragraphs. @_@)

Ninian, that's a shame about NRP's. Personally love 'em but I understand if someone doesn't like it. Arena is actually pretty fleshed out over here and you could possibly make an interest check or a thread asking for casual arena players to come and fight.

Organized chaos is always delicious, because it's technically not frowned upon. I mean, who frowns at something that's ORGANIZED!? Unless you're a hater, in which case booooo! Boo all dem haters!

Oh I think we'd work well then! I surely love big, long posts, although I hate when restrictions are placed. I've had this amazing 10-paragraph post roleplay happen once, but the other person quit... It was way too much of an expectation. I have also quit one of those, after feeling burned out. You know when it feels like you've done nothing after 10 paragraphs? Yeah... It burns you out FAST. I prefer quality over quantity, most times, though still adore my deets.

Hmmm... I've done 1x1 the most, although I love group roleplays out of everything. My group ones don't do well usually, though, which makes me sad. Maybe too much detail, or lack of, on my part. I'm not sure which one it is. I usually try to balance that aspect out. Group roleplays bring so much to the table, so much variety! I'm not one for battling, and I haven't tried Tabletop nor Nation.

I would probably have to lurk around the NRPs to see how they're done here, and if it's something I would be interested in. It's not a hard no. Same with arena I guess then o-o! I might be up for it. Fighting can be fun, I most recently lead a Gym Battle for my RP-buddy on Reddit, and it was pretty awesome. On the flip side I had one FFVII RP turn out horribly when someone decided to god-mode kill an entire sector's worth of people.

Hmmm, if I market it like going around all the active roleplays and then roving with the group getting people interested in different roleplays, instead of just lurking, mods will probably allow it. Lemme ask one now, he's probably online.

I think we would work out just fine! :O Yeah, one of my old RPs everyone posted about 10 paragraphs. It was nice, but sometimes it's very, very difficult, time consuming and completely unnecessary to write that much. With that expectation it takes you longer to write, and then you stall... and don't post, feel guilty... then stuff stops... yeah it gets ugly. My standards now are pretty much... can I read your post? Cool. Is there enough for me to work with to write my own post? Awesome. Details are a luxury that I prefer to have though.

I honestly have issues with group RPs a lot. Especially recently. Back two years ago... or ten years ago, it wasn't so bad. Now? I don't know, maybe the RPer base has changed. I think my RPs are too detailed? Even so though, two years ago I RPed on this silly iPhone app, and got a nice solid base of about ~5 players in a Doctor Who RP and a FFVII RP. Both finished several months later, too. On Reddit... all of the Pokemon RPs would get to about 60-80 posts and then just die inexplicably.

Also as a side note, my sleeping pills are super kicking in. I'm probably going to go lay down... might reply more tonight, might not. If I do, I might sound even crazier and incoherent than I already am. If that's possible.... >_>;

Don't worry 'bout it, and I understand that fear about group roleplays. Don't let the OOC die, that's how I do it. When that's dead, everything falls from there. Form friendships and in jokes with the group, you make it go strong. And when none of that succeeds, spam. Spam and spam, that's what I did XD. Well, no to the degree as I said there but just keep the OOC going.

And we can get in trouble, they still show people even when the count reaches 100 XD

Oh yeah, I have a really good OOC relationship with my current successful RP partner, and it really, really does help. We're not afraid to post what we think might be shit because the other person isn't going to judge. It's nice. I can pop out a barebones post if I'm busy and he's cool with it because he knows I'll go right back to posting small novels as soon as I have time. I'll have to establish some OOC stuff in my Pokemon RP, but I'm not really sure how to go about it. Maybe I'll go make an undermeme joke.

Nah, Kangaroo's cool. He's an Aussie and although he's an Aussie, he's a nice Aussie. Most Aussies are nice. Hank seems cool and Mahz seems cool so it's probably fine.

And establish yourself by talking 'bout stuff that people can connect to. And jokes are the best conversation starters XD

Yeah, I'm usually pretty good about connecting to people, but I have like nothing to go on in that thread. I'd make like a Pokemon joke, but most people haven't watched the XY Anime, probably because it's for ten year olds. But hey it's funny.

Maybe it's my addled brain that can't peace together how to initiate shenanigans at 2:30AM, also despite the fact I'm totally doing it here. BRAIN YOU ARE DRUNK GO HOME. :(
