Oliver Queen, AKA Green Arrow
| ORIGIN & BACKSTORY: |
The world of Earth-3 created a more hardened and cynical Oliver Queen, this much is clear.
Oliver Queen’s childhood was not idyllic, it was not the picture of utopia. Following the disbandment of the Justice Society of America and the anti-superhero sentiment within the United States federal government, the world seemed to get bleaker in the face of poverty and crime. The prosecution of superheroes affected the mood of Star City a great deal as icons like the Arrowette were forced to retire or surrender to the wrath of the law. Robert Queen however wouldn’t let the suffocation squench his ambitions— a fact that became obvious as he turned his small startup company, Queen Industries, into the likes of a Fortune 500 in what seemed like an overnight success. Soon the little fish became known as a titan as it increased its strength with affiliations with Ferris Aerospace, Bolt Financial, and others until it became a rival to old money corporations such as Wayne Enterprises. From a young age Oliver knew what it was to be ambitious, determined, and powerful.
However, Oliver’s mother lost her life to cancer fairly early in his life thus leading to a empty single parent household. Oliver could see his father’s own despair as it led Robert through several relationships; this always moving sight of relationships made him feel uncomfortable and wary— he swore he wouldn’t go through life so recklessly. Unlike his father Oliver took to coping in different ways such as martial arts, archery, and academics; his favorite was archery.
In 2000, the new millennium didn’t bring much hope back into the world but for Oliver there was some light to this at the age of eighteen the news of his father’s second wife brought a daughter into the Queen legacy named Emiko. Oliver wouldn’t have much time to bond with the infant as he set his sights for University as he left the west coast to study at Metropolis University in the ivory-touched “utopia” that was the City of Metropolis. Whilst at University he met Sandra Hawke who too was going towards a degree in Business; the two would become more than friends in time. His time at college would have him see firsthand the machine that was LexCorp as it began to restore and gentrify rotten neighborhoods. A gentrification that made Oliver sick to his stomach as he worked for his business degree. Oliver saw it as the greed of corporate America— a greed that rolled over the little guy to plop hipster neighborhoods on once thriving blue collar neighborhoods. How could Alexander Luthor be so blind to what he was doing?
Following University, Oliver Queen wasn’t quite ready to go home. The debut of Superman in 2002 had been a empowering experience as he looked to restore peace and integrity to the word “hero” despite the government’s vicious laws against vigilantism. Even with the military’s unjust laws against vigilantism, Oliver was convinced he had to start doing something instead of barking liberal politics that he couldn’t preach. The next few years had Oliver experience Iran and Afghanistan at their worst… until he caught the eye of one military official by the name of Amanda Waller who offered a promotion to do “real good” with Task Force X— a “tough” unit that had been nicknamed as a “Suicide Squad”. Oliver did not hesitate to join. It was 2005.
A few years after joining the squad Oliver would find himself on his most harrowing mission yet: Lian Yu. The mission was the textbook definition of a disaster. After landing on the island their transport was shot down, communication lines were cut, their contact a double agent, the group ambushed, and Oliver left for dead. Learning to survive on his own and swearing to get off the island to fulfil his promise to his now dead comrade, Oliver began to default back to his training as he learned about the island— from the herbs to the geography to the wildlife… he memorized it all. He refused to be an unmarked gravestone. Using only his wits and a bow he would take down the entire insurgent operation. A situation that Waller was impressed by following Oliver’s extraction; so impressed she offered him a command position of a squad of his choosing. However, he had a promise to keep… and he had been away from home for too long.
It was time to go home.
Oliver Queen returned to Star City in 2009 fatigued from his time with the military and found himself ready to put his business degree to good use. His father commended him on his “patriotism” and re-introduces Oliver to his half-sister, Emiko, who is now nine years of age. However, Oliver feels uneasy as a business leader when he sees how much worse Star City has gotten in his absence; drugs fill the streets while poverty ravages the low income neighborhoods of the city, but what can he do about it? But before Oliver can sort his thoughts everything falls apart.
Robert Queen was dead.
Now the guardian of Emiko Queen and with a wave of inheritance coming his way, Oliver is overwhelmed by the death of his father; an alleged suicide. Oliver begins to investigate as he suspects foul play— all evidence suggests this was not what it seemed… but actually a well set up murder. Oliver enlists the aide of Queen Industries Security Consultant John Diggle and Police Detective Mack Morgan. As legitimate means seem to be uneventful Oliver looks to the heroes of past and present as he dons a green hood and bow in the darkness of the night. Oliver soon deduces that Daniel Brickwell, an important executive in Queen Industries, is responsible and a fight ensues that ends in the arrest of Brickwell. Green Arrow is born.
Seeing the good he can do outside of the law, Oliver decides to not retire the Green Arrow alias as a one-time thing. Swearing to fight corruption like the Justice Society of America had in the twentieth century, Oliver begins his crusade against crime as he sets up base underneath the Queen Estate. His only confidant is John Diggle; who despite also being ex-military agrees that vigilantism is the best route to help those who need it. Green Arrow’s first year begins. Green Arrow soon comes to deal with frantic drug lord Werner Zytle who has infected the population with the drug known as Vertigo. As Green Arrow becomes a hassle, Zytle hires an infamous assassin known as Deadshot to deal with the vigilante. The vigilante loses and is apprehended by police with two broken arms in a dumpster. Zytle's operation crumbles not too long after.
At his father’s funeral, it was then that Oliver crossed paths with Sandra Hawke for the second time. Oliver was surprised when she told him she had found herself pregnant when he left for the military and that his father had opened an account in her son’s name, ensuring financial stability and a job in Queen Industries marketing department. Not long after this the two reconcile and continue dating. Oliver meets his then five year old son, Connor Hawke.
In 2010, Oliver would have to contend with the terrorist organization known as HYRAX, when the organization crashes a public event held by Queen Industries in the guise of activism. Green Arrow is all too eager to deal with the eco-terrorists when they begin to use extreme methods of violence, though the aftermath of the incident does make Oliver look into Queen Industries developments that harm the environment and look for alternative options.
Dealing with HYRAX was only the beginning of the year, a fact Oliver would realize when he found himself involved in a case involving the serial killer known as Cupid. The pattern was erratic but easy to pinpoint after some careful observation: men who were blatant womanizers and unfaithful husbands. Unfortunately for Oliver, that meant way too many people in Star City so he had to create a trap. Expanding on his persona as “Ollie” he turned his charisma into a weapon as he began having brief relationships (of which he fed to the press) and the suggestion that his relationship with Sandra Hawke ended because he didn’t want to take responsibility for the son that came from their time together. The trap had sufficient bait with this information out there and as Green Arrow he awaited Cupid to break into the Queen Estate. Cupid was quickly defeated and soon apprehended by the police.
<Merlyn Debut Somewhere Here>
By 2013, Green Arrow has become an icon of Star City much like the other heroes who refuse to halt their vigilantism. This leads to increased government interference and investigation nationwide; with Star City being assigned one specific agent by the name of Slade Wilson. This begins to create problems for Oliver in Star City as Slade Wilson makes it a point to arrest Green Arrow and make an example of the vigilante— during a particularly important case where Green Arrow is trying to stop a vicious serial killer known as the Clock King. However, intervention by a hacker by the name of Roy Harper makes things… somehow less complicated when information is fed to Green Arrow about the serial killer whilst he slows Slade down by feeding the agent with faulty information. As the Clock King is defeated, Roy Harper reveals to Green Arrow that he knows his identity but wants to help more actively. Oliver calls it blackmail but accepts the terms considering his options with Slade on his tail.
Before Roy's debut as his crime-fighting partner, Speedy, Green Arrow finds himself dealing with China White, a mysterious individual who had taken advantage of the hole left in the drug trade by Werner Zytle’s defeat by the Emerald Archer. However, China White is not a simple drug lord like Zytle had been but is in a way similar to Oliver in that she runs a pharmaceutical firm as her cover; a cover that is well-designed and hard to immediately destabilize. However, he finds himself an ally in a vigilante known as Katana who had been fighting China White’s cartel for a year. The two work together to reveal China White’s operation and force the police to react. However, China White vanishes before she can get apprehended.
Sandra Hawke is killed by Brick. <details later>

| ATTRIBUTES: |
Archery | First and foremost of Oliver's abilities is his prowess with a bow and arrow. He can use anything from the most simple bows and arrows to complicated composite bows and trick arrows with full efficiency. Archery is like second nature to him, and many have said that his marksmanship is like that of a metahuman’s. He was happy to prove them wrong.
Stealth & Investigation | Oliver has had to be smart and quiet, a fact that was groomed in the field. Upon becoming Green Arrow he has only honed these skills to combat the dirty politics of his city. He can deduce the qualities of herbs, toxins, and chemicals as well as sneak up on a trained assassin.
Inventor | Oliver is a technical genius as evident by the several developments of what the press has called "trick arrows"; with each invention having a useful utility in his warfare on the corruption in his city.
Martial Arts | Receiving training from both Slade Wilson and Rick Flagg, Oliver has become a skilled martial artist. While not as capable as, say, Batman, he has proven on more than one occasion that he is more than able to hold his own.
Peak Human Conditioning | In order to survive on Lian Yu, Oliver had to push his body to the very limit, transforming it into a weapon. Most notable of his enhanced capabilities is his hand-eye coordination, many mistaking him for a metahuman purely due to his reflexes and eyesight.
Acrobatics | A capable acrobat, Oliver often incorporates archery into his manoeuvres, pulling off seemingly impossible shots.
1981 |Oliver Queen is born to billionaire philanthropist Robert Queen and his wife, Moira, in Star City, California.
1988 | Oliver takes up an interest in archery. Delighted, Robert begins teaching him whenever he can, also hiring the best teacher money can buy.
1994 | Oliver begins high school, attending Brentwood Academy alongside his best friend, Tommy Merlyn. It’s there that he meets Hal Jordan. The three remain firm friends throughout their secondary education.
1996 | At the age of fifteen, Oliver is no longer the avid archer his father wanted him to be, instead taking interest in girls, partying and irresponsibility, spurred on by Tommy. Disappointed, his father takes the then eighteen year-old Simon Lacroix under his wing, making him his protégé.
2000 | Oliver and Tommy fall out of touch with Hal, who, after graduating, begins actively pursuing a career in the Air Force.
2000 | Oliver breaks up with his girlfriend, Sandra Hawke, after finding out that she’s pregnant. Feeling unready to be a father, he instead sends two million dollars to her new home in San Francisco.
2004 | Having witnessed his son’s shameful behaviour as a young adult, Robert sends Oliver to a Queen Industries oil rig in the North China Sea, assigning him to clerical work. Oliver, always the wild socialite, is quick to turn the rig into a party site. Such a party would see his fall from grace, as oil-thieving terrorists attack the rig, intending to take it over. Armed with a bow he’d used to entertain partygoers, Oliver resolved to confront the terrorist leader, believing himself capable enough to defuse the situation. However, a shot that managed to knock a detonator from the terrorist’s hands also managed to detonate the explosives they’d set, blowing up half of the rig and killing most of its inhabitants, including Tommy. Flung into the cold seawater with nothing but his bow, Oliver washes up on the shore of Lian Yu, a deserted island with seemingly no other occupants. Oliver has arrived at his purgatory.
2004-2009: Purgatory
2004 | Oliver spends much of his first year on Lian Yu surviving, building shelters and hunting food with nothing but his bow and arrows constructed of wood and stone.
2004 | Oliver runs into his first bout of trouble on the island, in the form of drug smugglers lead by the infamous crime lord, Chien Na Wei, better known as China White. Discovering their poppy fields, grown and maintained by workers against their will, Oliver takes the fight to China, burning the crops. In retaliation, China has the workers rounded up and killed, leaving their bodies for Oliver to find. She then leaves the island, taking away the only means Oliver had of escape.
2005 | The Queen scion’s second year on the island opens with his kidnapping at the hands of mercenaries, who torture him for weeks on end, wanting to know how he came to be on the island. Despite telling them that he was stranded there, they don’t believe him, opting instead to continue with the torture. Biding his time, he eventually escapes, leading up to a confrontation with the mercenaries’ leader. A brief yet brutal scuffle ends with the leader falling from a cliff to his apparent death. The mercenaries leave soon after.
2005 | Robert Queen dies in a helicopter crash while on a trip to the Himalayas.
2006 | Natas, an assassin hired by China White, arrives on Lian Yu. Tasked with killing Oliver, he instead opts to train him, impressed by his ferocity and determination. The assassin trains Oliver in a variety of martial arts, all while lying to China about his status. Eventually she grows suspicious and returns to the island, only to be ambushed by Oliver and Natas, who dispatch her men with ease. Fighting China two on one, Oliver has the chance to kill her, but he refuses. Disgusted, Natas deals the killing blow instead before turning on his pupil, disgusted at his weakness. Leaving a weakened and injured Oliver on the sands of Lian Yu, Natas leaves the island, once again taking away Oliver’s only means of escape.
2007-2008 | Oliver recovers from the wounds inflicted by Natas, surviving his final two years on the island without much trouble.
2009 | In the early stages of January, Oliver manages to gain the attention of a fishing trawler, which takes him to Shanghai. From there he returns to Star City, a changed man. His purgatory is over.
2009-2012: Green Arrow
2009 | Oliver returns home to the news that his father had died four years ago, and that his mother is ailing from cancer. He attempts to reconnect with Hal, but following his disappearance later that year, they fall out of touch.
2009 | His mother’s illness taking too much of a toll on her, Oliver is reassured that his father’s old friend and CFO, Walter Steele, is taking care of Queen Industries until he’s ready to take over. The older man offers to teach Oliver all he knows in the line of business, saving him from the hassle of getting his MBA. All the while, Oliver observes how far his city has fallen. It doesn’t take long for him to make a decision.
2009 |Green Arrow debuts in Star City, interrupting multiple arms deals in one night. Meanwhile, Oliver regains his pre-island reputation, throwing a massive, scandalous party that throws Walter into a rage.
2009 | Ricardo Diaz, leader of Star City’s most powerful criminal empire, becomes increasingly frustrated with Green Arrow’s interferences. Hiring multiple hitmen to take care of the vigilante, his empire ultimately comes tumbling down thanks to Oliver’s efforts.
2009 | Confident that Oliver’s ready to take a leadership position in his family’s company, Walter assigns him to Q-Core, Queen Industries’ tech subsidiary.
2009 | Daniel Brickwell, better known as Brick, takes advantage of the hole in Star City’s criminal underworld, becoming the city’s most powerful mob boss through intimidation and violence.
2009 | Sgt John Diggle of the SCPD contacts Green Arrow, informing him that Brick has managed to tuck police commissioner Brian Nudocerdo into his front pocket. Diggle becomes Oliver's informant within the SCPD.
2009 | On Christmas Eve, Brick kidnaps the mayor's daughter. After a night of frantic searching, Oliver finds out that his efforts were fruitless, the young girl turning up at a police station in the Glades, safe and unharmed. Following the kidnapping, the already complacent authorities are scared into submission, allowing Brick free reign within the city.
2010 | Oliver interrupts a drug trade negotiated between Brick and mob boss, James MacGowan. Integral to Brick’s game plan, this throws him into a rage. The mob boss sets out to discover Green Arrow’s identity.
2010 | Seeking out an old acquaintance, Brick enlists the help of Natas, who immediately tells him who Green Arrow is. However, upon Brick’s request to kill Oliver, Natas refuses and leaves Star City, as if never having been there in the first place.
2010 | Armed with knowledge of Green Arrow’s secret identity, Brick kidnaps Oliver’s mother, Moira, in a severely deteriorated state due to her cancer. Enraged, Oliver scours the entire city for her whereabouts, and with Diggle’s help, finds her in a motel, one of many fronts for Brick’s empire. Brick and Green Arrow fight, ending with the crime lord’s apparent death – an explosive tip arrow tends to do that to people.
2010 | A thorough investigation following Brick’s death exposes Commissioner Nudocerdo’s corruption. He faces trial and jail time, as do many of his officers.
2010 | Star City reels from the Apokolips invasion. Oliver and Hal reunite as they push back Darkseid’s forces as Green Arrow and Green Lantern. They reconnect in the aftermath, often catching up and occasionally teaming up in the years that follow.
2010 | Moira Queen loses her battle with cancer.
2011 | A mercenary archer going by the Dark Archer openly challenges Green Arrow to a duel on live television, threatening that failure to comply will end with civilian deaths. Oliver accepts the challenge, and only narrowly beats him, who vows that this was not the last they’d see of each other.
2011 | Cupid, a crazed archer with an obsession for Green Arrow, murders Star City Triad leader Jin Fang. This marks the beginning of her killing spree as she continues to target those with a vendetta against the Emerald Archer. Oliver and Diggle eventually track her down, and Carrie Cutter is arrested and pleads for insanity for multiple counts of murder.

2012 | Diggle leaves the SCPD, becoming Oliver’s “bodyguard”.
2012 | As Oliver engages in battle with a mercenary known as Big Game, Roy interferes, wanting to help. After the criminal’s apprehended, Oliver berates Roy, but the teenager doesn’t flinch, explaining that all he wants is to help people by the Green Arrow’s side. Oliver reluctantly agrees to train him, preparing him for the field.
2012-2014: Speedy
2012 | A new drug arrives at Star City, its street name, Vertigo. As more and more people are found dead from the narcotic, Oliver, Diggle and Dinah rush to find its supplier. After weeks of searching, Oliver enlists the help of a Q-Core employee, Felicity Smoak. Growing desperate from the rising body count, he reveals his identity to her, and asks for her help. Her ingenuity with technology eventually brings them a lead – all the way in Eastern Europe. The country of Vlatava. Its monarch, Werner Zytle, going by Count Vertigo, uses the money his criminal dealings bring to fund his small nation, unsympathetic to those he hurts in the process. Oliver begins planning a raid on Zytle’s mountainside compound, all while Roy insists that he comes along. Speedy debuts in Vlatava as Team Arrow conducts an attack on Vertigo’s compound, effectively ending his operations – but not before falling victim to his “Vertigo Effect” – emitted by a machine built into his head.
2012 | Roy becomes a member of the first Teen Titans.
2012 | Oliver fires Henry Fyff, an employee at Q-Core who’d been allegedly stalking Felicity.
2013 | Merlyn returns to Star City, hired to kill several high-profile figures in the city council by the Elevast Corporation’s CEO, Martin Somers, in retaliation for their refusal to allow the construction of the Star Center, a multi-storey complex that would span over fifteen city blocks, which would see hundreds of residents face eviction. Green Arrow, Black Canary and Speedy intervene, and Merlyn reveals himself to be none other than Malcolm Merlyn, father to Tommy Merlyn and one of Robert Queen’s closest friends prior to a falling out months before his death. Merlyn escapes, but Somers is arrested, and Elevast falls under new ownership.
2013 | While on patrol, Speedy runs into a woman calling herself Red Dart, a bank robber with a dangerous skill set. Roy manages to beat her with ease.
2014 | Oliver reveals his plan to propose to Dinah to Diggle and Roy. The two encourage him, but he scares himself from doing it, hiding the ring in the Quiver.
2014 | Walter calls Oliver up to Queen Industries. Once there, Walter tells Oliver just how frustrated he is at the man’s frequent absences from the company, calling him irresponsible. Oliver agrees, and hands over all responsibilities involving Queen Industries back to him.
2014 | Constantine Drakon, an assassin for hire, attempts to take Walter’s life. Green Arrow and Speedy intervene, and after a brief scuffle Drakon escapes, not to be seen again.
2014 | Oliver falls back into old habits as tension between himself and Felicity reaches boiling point. The two have a one night stand, consuming Oliver with guilt. Felicity leaves Team Arrow, apologising to Dinah – leaving the Canary to seek an explanation as to what she’s sorry for. Oliver has no choice but to tell her, and Dinah leaves for Gotham the next day, heartbroken.
2014 | After losing his girlfriend and his company, Oliver leaves Star City, seeking to find himself. He ends up in an ashram monastery in Napa Valley, where he meets a teenager by the name of Connor Hawke.
2014-2015: Hawke
2014 | The truth about Oliver and Connor’s relation is quick to come out, and the two spend much of their time at the monastery trying to make up for lost time. It comes to light that Connor is also a natural with the bow, and Oliver is ecstatic, more than happy to help his son improve. All the while they are taught the way of the Buddha by Master Jansen, helping Oliver find himself and Connor to find some level of peace within. Despite his best efforts, Oliver can’t get Connor to tell him what happened to his mother.
2014 | Lian Harper is born to Roy and assassin, Jade Nguyen. Unready to raise a child while in her current profession, Jade hands over custody to Roy, who makes Oliver Lian’s godfather – and an uncle.
2015 | After six months at the ashram, Oliver returns to Star City with Connor in tow. He once again dons the hood of Green Arrow, taking the weight of responsibility off of Roy, who stood in as Arsenal while he was away. Behind the scenes he continues to train Connor, who wishes to follow in his father’s footsteps.
2015 | Oliver returns to Queen Industries. Walter, weary from their last meeting, once again grants him control of only Q-Core, not wanting to let Oliver’s “rashness” to be the cause of Queen Industries’ downfall.
2015 | Despite Connor’s protests, Oliver enrols him at Larchmont High School.
2015 | In need of a tech guy to replace Felicity, Oliver tracks down Henry Fyff, the same man that he fired for, as she claimed, stalking her. He finds Fyff working at his family-owned Chinese takeout restaurant and recruits him to the cause.

2015 | Lex Luthor announces that he’s running for president, and Oliver is less than happy.
2015 | Oliver catches wind of a human trafficking ring being run in Star City. After investigation by both him and Fyff, they find the head perpetrator: a mercenary by the name of Edward Fyers, leader of a large mercenary group. After confronting him, Oliver finds out that Fyers was hired to run the operation by none other than Count Vertigo as a means to draw him out. Before he can leave, Zytle steps out from the shadows and blasts him with his Vertigo Effect, knocking the archer unconscious. A day passes, and Connor, worried for his father, enlists the help of Diggle and Fyff to track him down. They do, and Connor single-handedly incapacitates Vertigo, proving himself more than capable in the field. Oliver grudgingly, if a bit proudly, allows Connor to accompany him on patrols afterwards.
2015 | An assassin known as Onomatopoeia leaves a trail of bodies on his way to Star City – each of them a non-powered vigilante. He makes his next targets Green Arrow and his new partner, Red Arrow (Connor), managing to shoot the latter. As Connor is rushed to the hospital, a distraught Oliver nearly kills Onomatopoeia, who manages to escape by the breadth of his hair. When Connor recovers, Oliver lets him know that he will no longer allow him to go out into the field – and that his decision is final. No argument, from either Connor or Diggle, changes his mind.
2015 | Green Arrow rescues a fifteen year-old girl by the name of Mia Dearden from a local councilman who paid her pimp, David, for a night of privacy. Oliver refers her to the Moira Queen Home for Homeless Youth, where she turns up but a few days later – and almost instantly figures out that he’s the Green Arrow.
2015 | Oliver officially adopts Mia after finding out that her father, who sexually abused her, had died a year prior.
2015 | Oliver, Diggle and Connor reluctantly train Mia, who insists that it’s only so she can feel safe in her own skin. This is proven false when she dons a makeshift costume and takes to the streets in order to fight crime. Caught by Oliver, he bans her from further training, taking away her bow and costume. Mia and Connor bond over the limitations placed by their mentor/father.
2015 | Oliver changes his mind when Mia finds out that she’s HIV positive. The second Speedy debuts shortly after. Connor remains idle, still banned from fighting crime.
2015 | Mia becomes a member of the second Teen Titans.

| Identity | Oliver Jonas "Ollie" Queen, the Green Arrow
| Origin & Backstory |
Born to Star City billionaire businessman Robert and Moira Queen, Oliver Jonas had the extreme luck to be born into the one percent in an economy that included names such as Howard Stark, Norman Osborn, Thomas Wayne, Simon Stagg and Lionel Luthor. Growing up, Oliver's every need was attended to either by his mother or the abundance of nannies employed at the Queen Estate. This, of course, caused the young heir to be incredibly spoiled, developing a multitude of bad habits and personality traits in his formative years.
On a family trip to South Korea for the 1988 Summer Olympic Games, an eight year old Oliver would witness a perfect gold medal performance from a present day legend of the archery community; Bonnie King. Being the immensely impressionable lad that he was at the time, Oliver developed an obsession with the art almost immediately, from forcing his parents to buy him his first bow when they returned to the States to hanging posters of Robin Hood and Red Arrow on the walls of his bedroom, even if the later hadn't been seen since the Justice Society's disbandment in 1979.
Seeing that his son was more interested in archery than he had been in, well, anything else at the time, Robert Queen managed to hire Bonnie King herself as a personal instructor for Oliver only a sparse couple of years after her gold medal performance. Unbeknownst to him however, King's perfectionist attitude and overbearing criticisms of Ollie's at the time amateur ability nearly drove Oliver from the sport entirely. Years later Oliver would come to learn that Bonnie had become a mother, hence her stepping down from regular competition. If not for that, it is widely believed Bonnie would've gone on to dominate several Olympics.
Being the wealthy heir to a multi-billion dollar company that he was, Oliver was afforded the foremost education that the United States could offer, namely, he would attend Saint Elias' School for Youths in Gateway City in even-farther-north-than-Star-City-California. It was here that Oliver would mingle with various other children of magnates, oil tycoons and other notable lineages. Being roughly ten at the time, Ollie, like most children his age, mostly kept to himself and rarely socialized outside of his continued friendship with Tommy Merlyn, (he thanked every higher power he knew that Malcolm permitted Tommy to go.) though he did become fast friends with a particular pair of children from Coast City: Harold "Hal" Jordan and Carol Ferris, with Carol being the daughter of none other than the founder of Ferris Aircraft.
By the time Ollie, Hal, Tommy and Carol had graduated from Saint Elias and returned to their home cities Hal had earned a Student Pilot Certificate, a feat which infuriated Carol as she'd been denied her pastime due to the unexpected illness of her father and her growing responsibilities toward her family's company, Ollie had turned down innumerable invitations to the school's archery team (the coach couldn't take no for an answer) and Tommy had developed an acumen for keeping Ollie and Hal from killing themselves.
To celebrate his son's graduation from prep academy, Robert arranged an extended fishing trip on the Queen's Gambit, the family's commercial yacht. Unbeknownst to both of the Queen men at the time, the journey would be far more eventful than catching some giant sea bass. Wishing Carrie Cutter, his girlfriend at the time, farewell and kissing his mother goodbye while simultaneously smirking at his sister's jealous glare, Ollie boarded the ship and braced himself for the first day of the rest of his life, or whatever it was the cool kids were saying those days.
While at sea somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, a catastrophic storm hit the Queen's Gambit, causing flooding and mass engine failure. Ollie and Robert managed to make it to a lifeboat before the yacht capsized, watching the ship go down while they aimlessly drifted away from the wreckage. Still in shock from the experience, Ollie was made to witness his father's suicide after the later realized they only had enough supplies for one person to reach the nearest island.
Washing up alone and hungry on an unfamiliar environment, Oliver made a small memorial to his father on the shoreline (he'd thrown the corpse overboard.) and hazily made his way to look for supplies. Ollie doesn't know just how far or how long he spent traveling inland, days begin to blur when one is sufficiently isolated with only the sun to tell the time. One day, while he was scavenging for food, Ollie had the violent experience of having an arrow shot through his shoulder. He didn't quite have the wherewithal to stay conscious at that particular moment, and he was only shocked back to life when the arrowhead was removed. It was then that he first met the man that would save his life more times than one: Natas.
After nursing the marooned billionaire back to health, Natas began the surely frustrating task of training a kid born with a silver spoon in his mouth how to survive on what was probably the most dangerous island on Earth. Ollie hadn't exactly been the most perceptive or willing student, but his natural ability with a bow and arrow was the starting point in the duo's relationship, with Natas himself being an accomplished archer.
Sometime during his tutorship under Natas, Oliver accidentally tripped what he assumed was a trap designed to catch game, however, he and Natas would be taken hostage by armed guards and transported to a military styled base camp somewhere near the center of Lian Yu. Initially tortured by a man known as Eddie Fyers, Oliver would be thrown into a human cage where he would meet none other than Natas' daughter, Shado, and a former small-time assassin who'd evidently pissed off the wrong people, Lawrence Crock. In-between regular torture sessions, the three would devise an escape plan, and a few weeks after his arrival, Natas arrived at the camp and set in motion what he and Oliver had been planning the entire time: A mass break-out of captives at Fyers' camp. During the riot,
Through deception and chaos, the trio managed to escape the compound and make their way into the wilderness. Nearly a week later they came across a crashed military aircraft that housed a particularly antagonistic SHIELD Agent by the name of Slade Wilson. After an initial misunderstanding, Slade explained his situation; he'd been assigned to covertly land on Lian Yu and locate a fellow agent named William Wintergreen, who had gone silent. Having been stranded on the island for nearly a year.
The group decided to pool their respective skills and look for a way off the island. This mainly consisted of Oliver constantly honing his body and skills under Natas, Slade and Crock with routine hunting trips alongside Shado. It was during one of these trips that Oliver came across a woman who identified herself as Sandra Hawke. Against his better judgment, Oliver brought Sandra back to base with them, and despite the advice of pretty much everyone there, began a heated love affair. Now with six members, only one plan seemed viable for the merry band of misfits to escape Lian Yu: Steal a boat from Fyers' main compound.
After months of planning and preparation, the band of castaways assaulted the compound only to have the operation end in disaster. Though they took out effectively all of Fyers' men along with the man in charge himself, they were betrayed from within by Sportsmaster. All Ollie can say for certain about the event is that he saw Crock kill Natas before his very eyes before subsequently blacking out, whether it was from the bullets lodged in his shoulder and back or the left cross to the jaw was beyond him.
Oliver is unclear how long he spent unconscious, but he awoke under the roof of a hut with a strange woman at his side. A woman who he would later learn was named Taiana. A native of Lian Yu, Taiana had apparently rescued Oliver and Slade from the now destroyed compound. Taiana informed the duo of the presence of a criminal triad on the Island that was using the native populace for slave labor in their opium fields, their leader only identified by her snow white hair. Oliver felt a certain obligation to repay Taiana's kindness, and after he was fully healed, set out to free the indigenous people of Lian Yu, with the reluctant help of one Slade Wilson, who figured it was their best chance to find a way off the godforsaken hellhole.
Attacking the main headquarters of the triad, Oliver and Slade had little trouble dealing with the untrained gun-runners, seeing as by this time Oliver had come a long way from the spoiled child he was when he arrived. Though their leader managed to evade capture, with the natives liberated and the headquarters not left a smoking pile of rubble, Oliver was ecstatic to learn that having a SHIELD agent who could hack into radio systems to contact America for a partner really came in handy. Within a week, the two were on their way home. One thing was for certain; Slade had a hell of a field report to fill out.
After his three years of isolation, Oliver returned home to Star City to the loving embrace of his family, whom he regretfully had to inform of Robert's death. After he was discharged from his rudimentary stay at Star City General Hospital, Oliver saw his hometown in a new light. A light bred from his time on the Island. Star City had become a bulging mass of corruption, where the big openly stepped on the small and the poor either starved or resorted to crime just to survive. Seeing as he could no longer just sit back and go about life as he was prone to all those years before his ordeal, Oliver decided he had to fight to save his city from collapsing in on itself. His new-found bodyguard, John Diggle, certainly didn't make the endeavor any easier. He took up shop in an abandoned warehouse that he converted into a nightclub called Verdant.
While he quickly made a name for himself as a sort of modern day Robin Hood, the "Green Arrow's" first major case was when he single-handedly attempted to bring about the collapse of Daniel "Brick" Brickwell's criminal empire. Brick was a notorious crime lord not only for his brutal cunning, but for his trademark brick red skin and superhuman strength, believed to be the result of an X-gene. After tracking a deal to the docks, Green Arrow dispatched the majority of the drug runners before facing the man himself, only to be thoroughly manhandled after realizing his arrows had no effect on his opponent's superhumanly tough skin. Seeing as he couldn't just up and admit himself to the emergency room, Oliver managed to make his way to his bodyguard before collapsing. Thus marking the creation of "Team Arrow", and a few broken bones which he then had to excuse as a "skiing accident".
Knowing that he couldn't combat Brick with his regular method, Oliver managed to enlist the help of a particularly ingenious engineer from Queen Industries' Applied Sciences division by the name of Marvin Harris. Though his excuse was flimsy at best, the young scientist crafted Oliver's very first trick arrow: the Polyurethane foam arrow (Foam Arrow for short). With his new toy, the Emerald Archer found it surprisingly easy to apprehend Brick.
Continuing operations as usual, only with the occasional trip to Applied Sciences to not so subtly request new gadgets, Green Arrow eventually became aware of a League of Assassins operation taking place in Star City. While investigating just when the hit would take place, and more specifically, who had ordered it, Ollie managed to run into what he assumed was a copycat vigilante donned in red rather than green, who had with him an apparent tech expert he referred to only as "Proxy". Though he attempted to dissuade the teen's choice of nightlife, Arrow would again run into this "Arsenal" days later while following another lead. The two tentatively agreed to work together to stop the assassination. With their combined talents, Arrow and Arsenal deduced the time and place of the hit to the press conference held by Harris Technological Firm.
Sadly, the duo couldn't arrive in time, and the league's agent, who identified himself as Constantine Drakon, managed to kill the tech firm's CEO only moments before Oliver and Roy had arrived. In the ensuing encounter, the two archers were dumbfounded when their adversary managed to catch their arrows out of mid air as if they were no more than a minor annoyance. It seemed Drakon was a man who enjoyed toying with his prey. This would ultimately be his undoing, as he caught one of Marvin's newest trick arrows; the Corrosive Arrow. The left side of his face covered in acid, Drakon still managed to escape capture.
In the ensuing weeks, Oliver would offer Roy a full time partnership, and make the shocking discovery that the hacker known as Proxy was also one Wendy Harris, Marvin's twin sister and recent graduate of George Weisinger University. Seeing as he'd pretty much recruited his sister, Oliver brought Marvin into the fold after what he deemed an appropriate mourning period. Diggle did not approve.
| Attributes | Archery - Oliver's chosen method of curtailing crime, Green Arrow is capable of shooting an arrow down the barrel of a pistol from fifty yards at a moment's notice. Ollie's aim is impeccable, and some have ventured to call it superhuman after seeing the Emerald Archer hit targets from multiple rooftops away. The man himself has claimed to be able to fire roughly twenty-nine arrows per minute one at a time from a quiver, and split a droplet of water while falling from the tap of a sink. To say that shooting a bow comes as naturally as breathing to Oliver Queen would be an understatement. Aside from his pinpoint marksmanship, the eccentric billionaire also makes use of dozens of self-manufactured trick arrows, that can function in any number of ways, ranging from a simple explosive arrow to pyrotechnic and EMP arrows.
Swordsmanship - Trained by the likes of Natas and Slade Wilson, Oliver is a capable swordsman, although he has rarely brought his blade into the field after his return to civilization despite the fact that he still practices on a fairly regular basis, though he excuses this as exercise to stay in shape.
Physical Capabilities - During his time on Lian Yu, Oliver was forced to transform his body from that of a spoiled playboy to that which would put Olympians to shame. The extreme training regiment instilled in him by the likes of Natas and Deathstroke has carried over to his life as Green Arrow. Most notably, Oliver's hand-eye coordination and eyesight have seemingly developed beyond what many thought was humanly possible.
Intelligence and Deductive Abilities - Although he openly gallivanted as a spoiled child of old money, Oliver actually possesses a keenly intelligent mind and knack for technological engineering. After his ordeal on Lian Yu, Oliver decided to enter college and earn a business degree in order to prepare himself to take over Queen Industries. Oliver is not an overly capable detective. While able to bust most of Star City's lower level criminals and street gangs on pure ingenuity, one of equal or greater intelligence than the Battling Bowman can seemingly slip through his grasp. Luckily, Oliver's team make up for this flaw 9 times out of 10.
Medical Knowledge - Oliver retains a fairly large amount of knowledge on emergency medical procedures and remedies, having had to remove dozens of bullets and the occasional arrow from his body. Particularly, Ollie knows the cures and treatments for nearly all known poisons and illnesses from his time on Lian Yu, and maintains a small stockpile of herbs and salves in his archaic bow-case. He also retains firsthand knowledge on the affects of most recreational drugs.
Multi-lingualism - Along with his superhuman archery abilities, Oliver was also taught how to speak both Mandarin and Japanese from his two mentors on Lian Yu, and self-taught himself the Russian language during his conflicts with the Star City Bratva branch. He also studied French during his playboy years but only remembers vague sentences and phrases and would more than likely offend most French nationals.
| Character Notes |
Robert and Moira Queen - A classic tale of the self made billionaire marrying his high school sweetheart, one could make a movie about the story of romance between Robert and Moira Queen. Having met during their freshman year at Star City High, the two married almost immediately after Robert's graduation from college. Robert, a ruthless businessman, took his father's relatively small computer business and turned it into a multi-billion dollar technology empire spanning the entirety of the United States within two decades using every underhanded play, every dirty trick, and every bullying technique known to man. Naturally this garnered him an abundance of enemies. Moira remained blissfully ignorant of her husband's crimes and peacefully took her place as a fiercely protective and doting mother.
The two would die some seven years apart, Robert committing suicide to ensure their son's survival, and Moira being murdered at the hands of Cupid, a deranged psychopath obsessed with Oliver's alter ego, the Green Arrow.
Thea Queen - Ollie's younger sister and only surviving family member. During Ollie's exile on Lian Yu Thea fell to drugs and alcohol, the very same vices Oliver himself partook in. Though they struggled at first, Ollie and Thea would reconcile after the former opening up about his experience on the Island with his surviving family. Now clean for some three years, Thea was distraught to learn of her brother's true nature as the Green Arrow as a result of his conflict with Cupid, during which both Thea and Moira were taken hostage in their family's home. Following their mother's death, Thea has all but removed herself from Ollie's life. Oliver fears that without the guidance she once had, his sister might very well fall into alcoholism once again.
Dinah Laurel Lance, Black Canary - Born in Gotham, Dinah's family would move to Star City while she was still very young. After losing her younger sister, Sarah, to a car accident in high school, Dinah traveled to the Middle East and Asia, training under various martial arts masters, most notably Sandra Wu-San and Richard Drakunovsky, better known as the enigmatic Richard Dragon and Lady Shiva. Dinah returned to Star City following the news of Malcolm Merlyn's thwarted Undertaking. She would encounter the Emerald Archer following Thomas Bolt's assassination by the man known only as Onomatopoeia early in her vigilante career. The relationship would evolve over time and the two have been dating for about a year. To say she was surprised that Star City's guardian angle was spoiled billionaire Oliver Queen would be an understatement. Raised as a fighter from a young age, Black Canary has proven to be one of the best hand to hand fighters on the planet, multiple times. This, in conjunction with her supersonic "Canary Cry", makes her a deadly opponent for anyone, let alone common street thugs.
Roy Harper, Arsenal - Oliver's partner in crimefighting and son of the Justice Society's Red Arrow, Roy Harper is an exceptionally skilled marksman, no doubt a skill inherited from his father. After a short lived partnership with Wendy Harris in his youth, Roy was recruited by Oliver after the three managed to run into each other during an investigation. Though their personalities often clash, Arsenal is arguably Green Arrow's closest confidant.
Wendy "Proxy" Harris - Older child of Steven Harris by almost a whole twenty minutes, Wendy Harris was a certified computer geek almost out of the womb. Along with the more hands-on genius of her brother, Wendy would graduate MIT at the ripe old age of sixteen. After the assassination of her father, Wendy turned to aiding one Roy Harper's crime-fighting in exchange for any intel they could find, which inevitably led them to crossing paths with the Emerald Archer. The three have been working together ever since.
Marvin Harris - A mechanical genius to match his sister's hacking ability, Marvin is currently employed as an engineer for Queen's Applied Sciences Division, and supplies the more adventurous of the team with an ample amount of nifty trick arrows for any and all situations, though his scientific mind often wanders to bigger and better things than "pointy sticks".
John Diggle - A retired member of the Green Berets, Johnathan Diggle, or Digg, as Ollie calls him, was hired by Moira Queen to be Oliver's bodyguard upon her son's return to Star City. After becoming aware of Ollie's identity as the Emerald Archer, Diggle became the first person to join the Arrowteam. While he still occasionally operates as a bodyguard, Digg's official title is "Queen Industries Security Adviser", which is to say Ollie pays him to be a sparring partner and make rare trips to the office to check up on the security systems.
Ted "Wildcat" Grant - An old family friend of the Lances from their time in Gotham, Ted Grant is a former world heavyweight champion boxer who looked after Dinah during her stays at Gotham. The two quickly began a student-teacher relationship, with Dinah receiving private lessons from Ted when she began to pursue a career in crime fighting.
Evelyn "Ev" Crawford - The daughter of a former Mob Hitman, Evelyn Crawford or Ev, as she prefers to go by has seen the darker side of Star City for much of her life. Raised in the Glades, by the time Ev was in high school her father had taught her how to handle various firearms and she was quite capable with a pistol. Dinah and Evelyn became fast friends during their formative years and Ev now works for Dinah at Sherwood Florist as her assistant manager.
Kurt Lance - Younger brother to Quentin Lance and paternal uncle to Dinah and Sarah, Kurt Lance is a retired army veteran who served with the likes of John Diggle in the Green Berets. After his retirement, Kurt settled down in Coast City. Dinah would regularly stay with Kurt during the summer, where Kurt began to teach her certain martial arts utilized by the United States Army, such as Krav Maga and Hapkido.
Wonder Dog the Arrowhound - A nameless golden retriever found starved and physically abused by Green Arrow and Arsenal after a routine drug bust, Oliver decided to adopt the poor pooch and nurture him back to health. He has since become something of a team mascot for the Battling Bowmen. Affectionately referred to as "George" by Ollie, regardless of how many times Wendy chastises him.
Bonnie King-Jones - Born into a family of circus performers, Bonnie King was trained in archery from a young age by her father, "The Magician" Arthur King. A former Olympic Gold Medalist, Bonnie was eloquently nicknamed Miss Arrowette in her prime, and is perhaps the most well known former athlete in the world's archery community. After obtaining her medal in 1992, Bonnie settled down in California and became Oliver's private instructor, though even she couldn't teach Ollie how to properly handle a bow. Now married to Bernell Jones, Bonnie is a stay at home mother.
Bernell "Bowstring" Jones - A small-time sports journalist during the 1992 Summer Olympics, Bernell Jones is the everyday sort of person one would never assume to marry a Bonnie King type. Bernell met Bonnie a few months after her first pregnancy and eventually found his way into the woman's heart, becoming a loving father to a daughter soon after his wedding. Having been an archery enthusiast, Bernell is a self-proclaimed supporter of the Emerald Archer and one of the few friends Green Arrow has in Star City's press. Because of Bernell's tendency to arrive at crime scenes and slip the Arrowclan information whenever possible, Ollie has jokingly nicknamed him "Bowstring".
Joanna Pierce - An up and coming lawyer and native of Metropolis' Suicide Slum, Joanna Pierce experienced gang violence first hand throughout her formative years and decided to enter law school because of it. Joanna has become estranged from her family for unknown reasons and has moved across the country to Star City. She has yet to be introduced to Green Arrow directly.
Commissioner Brian Nudocerdo - Acting Chief of Police in the Star City Police Department.
Warden Lyle Bolton - Current Warden of Slabside Penitentiary.
Detective Quentin Lance - Quentin Lance is a Star City Police Detective and former officer of the Gotham City Police Department, having moved from the Gotham-Bludhaven area to California following the birth of his first daughter. Originally an ardent critic of the rising vigilante population, Detective Lance has begrudgingly allied himself with Green Arrow on numerous occasions and has come to the harsh realization that not all problems can be solved by the average officer of the law. Quentin remains in contact with a select few officers from the GCPD, most notable being James Gordon and Harvey Bullock.
Maggie Sawyer - A ten year veteran of the Star City Police Force, Maggie Sawyer is a staunch opponent of vigilantes around the world, and has a personal mission to prove that her precinct can be just as effective as "that crazy Robin Hood wannabe." a single mother of one, Maggie is a gay rights activist and open lesbian, and although the more bigoted of Star City's law enforcement hierarchy have held her back because of this, Sawyer has proven one of the most efficient officers on payroll.
Chien Na Wei, China White - One of the Mandarin's main lieutenants, Chien Na Wei operated the large opium trade operation run by the Mandarin's triad on Lian Yu which used the native population for slave labor in the poppy fields. The operation was quickly destroyed by Oliver Queen, in what he would call his very first appearance as the Green Arrow. Believed to have died in an explosion, China White has emerged in Star City as the head of a new Triad group. Oliver remains unaware of how White, or the Mandarin, located him, but presumes they are aware of his identity.
The Mandarin - The enigmatic head of an Asian criminal Empire. The Mandarin began paying off Eddie Fyers' company in order to host a drug operation on the island amongst several illicit affairs. A ruthless and cunning leader, Oliver only knows the Mandarin by reputation, and even the likes of SHIELD cannot put a face to the name.
Eddie Fyers - The field commander of the mercenary group stationed on Lian Yu, Edward Fyers used Lian Yu as a Mecca for drug operations and slave labor from its native inhabitants. Whether an inmate or a castaway, Fyers never let a resource go to waste. Fyers often employed the prisoners of Lian Yu to bolster his own staff in exchange for a bed and warm meals. A vain man from birth, Fyers didn't do much to stop some of his men's more barbaric practices on the Island. His operations exposed by Oliver, the Chinese government has taken it upon themselves to handle Fyers and his company.
Lawrence "Crusher" Crock, Sportsmaster - A former small time crook and assassin for hire, Lawrence "Crusher" Crock was exiled to Lian Yu by the League of Assassins for taking a contract that belonged to them in order to send a message to their competitors. Brought into the fold by Oliver and his group, they would later be betrayed by Crock, who had been coerced by Ra's al Ghul to eliminate the former League of Shadows operatives. Oliver has speculated that Crock might have returned to Gotham, where his ex-wife and two daughters reside.
Malcolm Merlyn, the Dark Archer - A central figure in Star City's hierarchy, Malcolm Merlyn was seen as a poor man's Robert Queen, just as ruthless and cunning, but only made a half of what his contemporary managed with less resources and time. For reasons unknown Malcolm left California in his teenage years and early twenties. Eventually, Malcolm would marry Robert's widow Moira before her untimely death. A central figure during the Undertaking, Merlyn was exposed as the Dark Archer but escaped capture.
Noah Kuttler, the Calculator - A wealthy investment banker and accountant, Noah Kuttler operates an abundance of extortion rackets and oversees a number of Swiss Bank accounts under the guise of "The Calculator". A genius mathematician, Kuttler has been able to find a way around almost every loophole without a second thought, all from behind a computer monitor. After Green Arrow's interference in his schemes, the Calculator has begun using his massive funds to hire killers to apprehend the vigilante.
Ricardo "Junior" Diaz, Richard Dragon - One of Richard Dragon's students following Black Canary, Ricardo Diaz murdered his teacher and took his name for his own. A human weapon, Diaz is one of, if not the greatest hand to hand fighter and martial artist on Earth, retaining an uncanny ability to read his opponent's movements and find any weakness in a person's body and exploit it with deadly proficiency. Diaz has recently traveled to the United States to track down the Dragon's former students and systematically take them out.
Werner Zytle of Vlatava, Count Vertigo - Currently rotting in a prison cell, Werner Zytle conspired a bloody rise to Kingship by ordering the assassination of his elder brother and only niece with the assassins posing as American extremists. When Perdita returned to Vlatava to claim the throne, Vertigo made to execute her himself and take power by force. Thankfully however, Vertigo was undone by the Emerald Archer.
Simon LaCroix, Komodo - Born into poverty in the Glades, Simon LaCroix is a self-made man who ended up working as the personal assistant and confidant of Robert Queen. To Robert, Simon was everything Ollie wasn't. By that time Ollie had already fallen into constant fits of partying, recreational drug use, and underage drinking. The son he never had, Robert would give Simon the head start he needed to launch Stellmoor International.
Isabel Rochev, the Queen - Born in a small village in eastern Russia, Isabel Rochev was inspired from a young age by Robert Queen, who had a number of mines built in the mountains around her home, which caused her village's economy to flourish. Eventually becoming a personal intern for Robert while still in business school, the Queen Patriarch began an extramarital affair with his young assistant. Her internship was later terminated without notice. Holding a grudge against the Queen family, Rochev would become the primary business partner of Simon LaCroix at Stellmoor International.
Constantine Drakon - Generally considered by his peers as one of the best martial artists on the planet, Drakon is the personal assistant and second-in-command of The Sensei, the mysterious man at the head of the League of Assassins. Drakon's most notable contract occurred some years ago when he eliminated the CEO of Harris Technological Firm, Steven Harris, leaving the twins Wendy and Marvin orphaned. After a short scuffle with Green Arrow, Drakon managed to escape and has not been seen since.
Daniel "Danny" Brickwell, Brick - Star City's most prominent crime lord due not only to his namesake skin, but for his ruthless efficiency and almost impossible feat of taking control of the Triangle, Danny Brickwell was a victim of his environment and thrived in the criminal underworld following his father's termination from a Queen Industries factory in the Glades.
Brian Durlin - The heir to the Durlin family fortune, Brian is a savant in every sense of the word. He graduated at the top of his class from an ivy league school at only twenty years old, actively plays five instruments, is an adept fencer and martial artist, and is a magician when it comes to business transactions. It is whispered that Durlin has big plans for when he finally comes into his inheritance, but what exactly they are is anyone's guess. Durlin is almost never seen without his servant, Aleksandr Creote.
Lady Shiva - After her time under Richard Dragon, Dinah would catch the attention of Dinah when the latter arrived in Rhelasia to seek her out. After a trial to determine Dinah's worthiness as a recruit for the League of Shadows, Shiva took her under her wing and became one of Canary's many mentors. Shiva would eventually praise Canary as one of her greatest students after Dinah fought her to a stand-still after only a year of training. Since Dinah's desertion from the League and return to Star City, Lady Shiva has silently plotted her downfall.
Carrie Cutter, Cupid - A former romantic conquest of a young Oliver Queen who volunteered for an expedition to locate the Queen's Gambit. While at sea something changed in Cutter, and she is now certifiably insane, with an absolute obsession with Ollie after the news of his return. After taking Mia and Moira Queen hostage in their own mansion in an effort to become closer to Ollie Carrie, then operating under the name "Cupid", was shocked to discover that Oliver was the Green Arrow. Following the murder of Moira Queen and Cupid's capture by Green Arrow Cutter has been placed in the Haven Security Village for the Insane.
Prometheus - He'll be happening.
Onomatopoeia - A silent assassin with unknown motives, Onomatopoeia murdered former Mayor of Star City, Thomas Bolt, before being apprehended by the duo of Green Arrow and Black Canary. This marked the first time the Battling Bowman and the Supersonic Songbird worked together on a case. Onomatopoeia is currently an inmate at Slabside Penitentiary.
Dr. Linda Friitawa, Fright - A former assistant of Gotham's Dr. Jonathan Crane, Fright is the head doctor at Haven Security Village.
Star City - It's a comic book city. (Orchid Bay, Lamb Valley, The Glades, Adams Heights, South End, Aurora)
Queen Family Mansion - A luxurious plot of land on the outskirts of Orchid Bay, the Queen Mansion is bordered to the west by the Pacific Ocean and to the East by the towering skyscrapers of Downtown Star City. Retaining a gated driveway, the Queen family has become synonymous with secrecy due to just how far "out of the way" Robert Queen decided to build his home, with the nearest neighbors being roughly a mile away. The interior of the residence however is very welcoming and screams socialite, with everything from antique vases to billiards tables decorating the innumerable rooms and hallways.
The Quiver - Built in a cavern underneath the Queen residence following the aftermath of Cupid's attack, the Quiver operates as Ollie's main base of operations as Green Arrow. Both Oliver and Diggle have taken steps to ensure the cave's safety, such as wiring the walls and implementing top class security systems. Nearly three times as large as the Quiver, the Quiver is fully stocked with equipment, an archery range, adaptable obstacle course, and barracks.
Verdant - Built and owned by Oliver Queen, Verdant serves as the only nightclub in the Glades, and is particularly popular amongst Star City's teenagers and young adults.
Sherwood Florist - A small flower shop opened by Dinah and Ev Crawford upon the former's return to Star City. Built just off of Orchid Bay, Dinah was inspired to go into a florist business by her mother who had always wanted to do one before her educational career took off. The property is owned by Dinah and contains a small garage out back in which Dinah stores her motorcycle as well as her Canary gear. Above the Sherwood Florist is also a small one bedroom apartment in which Evenlyn lives.
The Arrowcave - Oliver's original base of operations built within an abandoned Queen Industries Factory that would become Verdant. With the construction of the Quiver underneath the Queen Mansion, the Arrowcave rarely serves any function to the Arrow Clan outside of a variable weapons cache and tech dump. Though still fully serviceable, the image of the Arrowcave is one of antiquity, filled with mementos and out of date equipment, a museum of the Emerald Archer's first exploits within Star City.
Queen Industries - The West Coast equivalent of Wayne Enterprises, Queen Industries is a massive conglomerate of numerous smaller companies with a basis in commercial information technology, being one of the most prominent companions to spring out of the digital revolution. While the public knows of Queen Industries from the almost omnipresent Q-Phones and Q-Pads, the company has an extensive and lucrative military contract. If you were to visit the Pentagon, odds are the tech in their computers came from a Queen Industries facility. Based in Downtown Star City, Queen Industries retains beneficial connections to various west coast businesses, most notably being Ferris Air.
Lian Yu - An almost impossible to locate island in the South China Sea, Lian Yu is something of an experimental prison in that Asian governments send their most feared criminals to the island and have them fend for themselves with effectively no government involvement, even lacking basic security protocols to prevent escape. In actuality run by a secretive private military company, Lian Yu is a variable death camp for criminals, and in Ollie's case, castaways.
Stellmoor International - Founded by Simon LaCroix in 1998, in only six years of history, LaCroix became one of Queen Industries' fiercest competitors within Star City. Using every trick and tactic taught to him by Robert Queen, LaCroix took his company from a single office building to an international technology Empire, and following Moira Queen's murder, very nearly executed a hostile takeover of Queen Industries before Oliver Queen's intervention.
Saint Elias School for Youths - A prestigious boarding school located in Gateway City, Oliver Queen would attend Saint Elias during his formative years alongside names such as Hal Jordan, Carol Ferris, and Thomas Merlyn.
Tinder-Smith Garden - Home of the NBA's Star City Serpents and NHL's Star City Lights.
Winick Arena - Home of the Star City Stags of the MLB and the NFL's Star City Comets.
George Weisinger University - One of the oldest universities in California, George Weisinger University, or GWU, once stood as a proud pillar of the Ivy League schools across the United States. Recently however, Weisinger U's reputation has shifted from a melting pot of cultures and ideas, to one of an unruly party school, overrun with frat parties that seem to run every day, under the influence of underage drinking and innumerable other illegal narcotics.
Slabside Penitentiary - Located on the outskirts of Adams Heights, Slabside Penitentiary, affectionately nicknamed the Slab by inmates and city goers alike, Slabside has a fearsome reputation for police brutality and mistreatment of prisoners, which caused it to be shut down sometime in the 1990s. Recently refurbished to house both mundane and metahuman inmates, the Slab has been receiving a number of new inmates from across the west coast, who's former prisons didn't have nearly as thorough precautions against metahuman threats.
Haven Security Village - Opened in 2004 and built on an Island three miles out from Star City's ports, the Haven Security Village acts as an "impossible to break out of" asylum. Rather than restrain the population with straitjackets or handcuffs at all times, Haven attempts to create an atmosphere of equality by allowing patients a great deal of freedom. Fully manned with a coast guard and 24/7 security personnel, Haven has garnered a reputation of excellence during it's small time of operation.
The Kingdom of Vlatava - An economically struggling Kingdom in Eastern Europe, Vlatava recently suffered immensely at the hands of the Sta'rro Incident quickly followed by a succession crisis with the assassination of it's former King. The throne eventually passed to Perdita Zytle, now known as Perdita II. Facing aggression from Russia, Vlatavanians fear for their country's independence while under the watchful eye of their vigilant neighbor. To ensure their neighbors wouldn't invade, Vlatava joined the Latverian Union.
| Character Goals | Would it be wrong to say I just really want to shoot people with a bow and arrow?
