“I’m on vacation.” A young man said into his phone as he walked along the beach side in Kapaa, Hawaii. “I needed a break so I’m taking a break. I’m only gone for a week there’s no need to panic.” The young man’s voice filled with a great amount of laughter as he spoke into the phone. The voice on the other end didn’t not sound too pleased at the young man’s nonchalant manner in which he spoke. “So what if I didn’t taken Jessica? I’m here to relax not to put on a show for the press. If I wanted to do that I would have taken Jessica and pick the Big Island to have the vacation on. Instead I chose the smaller island by myself. By the way did you know there are more wild boars on this island than people? Isn’t that fascinating?”

The person on the other end of the phone didn’t really seem to care but the conversation ended with, “I’ll be in touch when I get home.” And the young man hung up the phone and slid it into the pocket of his light weight white sweater he had over his shoulders. The Hawaiian breeze felt amazing and he took a deep breath in closing his green eyes. Relaxation that’s what he needed.

The city was small enough to walk around in and the blonde took advantage of that moment. Stepping out into the city he began his search in his jean shorts and light weight thin sweatshirt for food. Coming upon a small local restaurant he ordered his food to go and returned to the beach. Sitting down on one of the beach chairs in the beach area located in front of his hotel he let out a long relaxed sigh and took a bite into the fish taco. Being away from everything was just what the doctor ordered and Byron Taylor couldn’t be happier.

His girlfriend, or ‘girlfriend’ if you will, had an obsession with keeping him as close to her as she could and his agent had him screen testing for many different roles in movies. Most of them wanting him but there were too many conflicting schedules for him to complete more than one film at a time. And his ‘girlfriend’ enjoys dragging him to the countless amount of premieres he gets invited to and insists on joining him while he’s on talk shows and even going to the house parties and dinners he’s invited to. She’s his automatic +1, which wouldn’t really be a bad thing… if they actually left like a couple. Out in public and around people, the young singer would be all over him but when they were alone… it was like she wasn’t that into him. Affection was rare and whenever he’d approach her to be affectionate, he’d get turned away. And god forbids if he didn’t bring her an expensive gift or something.

Thinking about it made Byron shake his head, he’s here to relax and relax he shall! With that he continued into his fish taco with more joy than a fancy restaurant could ever give him.

The most difficult thing about having a love for drawing is finding inspiration. Most people find it almost impossible to truly express their talents through something they care nothing for. It would certainly be difficult to sketch a cup of coffee when in reality you detest it and cannot even manage to swallow a mouthful, wouldn't it? The thought caused a sigh to escape a girl's lips as she drummed on the surface of the table with her fingers. A blank sketch pad lay in front of her set with a graphite pencil and an eraser. It had been sitting there blank for a long time.

"I give up!" The girl stood abruptly, almost knocking her chair over in the process. Gathering up her supplies and stuffing them into a grey leather backpack, she left a tip for the friendly staff at the bar before leaving in her usual hurried manner. Just like she did everyday, Brooklyn marvelled at the quietness of the streets and the general relaxation that came with the Hawaiian air as she made her way to her favourite spot. The warm weather required her to wear much less than what she was usually comfortable in, but seeing as there was hardly anyone around she didn't bother to feel embarrassed. She had been staying in Kapaa for almost 7 weeks now after her boss had told her to spend the rest of the year off. At first, it had been a relief to have been allowed a break from her seemingly never-ending shifts, but now that she had adjusted to her new surroundings she was feeling pretty...bored.

It wasn't until she felt the warm sand beneath her feet that she snapped out of her thoughts, her grey eyes scanning the beach for a reasonable spot. As per usual, it was almost empty, only a few people dotted here or there along the shoreline. The sight brought a small smile to Brooke's lips and she advanced down to a place roughly half way between the water and the streets behind before letting herself fall down into a sitting position. Now this was inspiration.

The gentle breeze of the ocean was more than Bryon could imagine. The clean air of Hawaii was so much better than the clogged air of Los Angeles; even though living outside of the city was a little better; it was never the best because he was required to go back in for work. Sighing softly to himself he finished off his last taco and threw away his stuff into the trash can before going back on his walk.

Finding a small trail he followed the path before coming upon a beautiful view overlooking the sea and to his surprise someone was sitting down drawing. He stood in silence in his shorts with his hands in the pockets of his light weight white sweater watching the scene in front of them. It was so nice not to have the voice of his girlfriend next to his ear talking about everything in the world of Hollywood and nothing about real life. He didn’t even know her favorite kind of ice cream, or her favorite candy nor has she even shared with him her favorite flower. Yet she insisted on spending more time with him in public than at home when they could just relax, lie around and watch movies or go out for a run or swim in the pool. Ride horses, garden; something other than Hollywood parties or clubbing! While he enjoyed those things he always wanted to do more but she wouldn’t.

Leaning over slightly, he looked at the drawing but kept a respectable distance. “You’re really good.” He said softly in hopes he wouldn’t make her jump. “How long have you been drawing?”

Brooklyn let her mind wander as her pencil glided across the paper. Her hair fell in loose white waves down her back and over her shoulders, shifting slightly in the warm breeze. The quietness helped her tense muscles to relax, allowing the stress she was so used to melt away. She could hardly remember what it was like to be surrounded by people in a bustling city. Here, she was free to do whatever she pleased, and with low taxes that a part-time job at the local could handle, she had literally no worries.

"You're really good." A soft, friendly voice behind her snapped her out of her daze, causing her to properly look at what she had been doodling. It was a rough sketch of her surroundings, the primary focal point was a lone seagull standing with its wings half-outstretched. "Thanks. I don't know, really, I've just always seemed to have a liking for stuff like this." She answered the man's question, turning for the first time to properly look at the stranger. As her eyes adjusted to the sunlight, her cheeks flushed momentarily. He was gorgeous. Like, model-gorgeous, but he seemed vaguely familiar. After a second of staring, Brooke dragged her eyes back to the view in front of them before she could say something stupid.

"Are you from around here?" She asked, her voice held a questioning tone to it- yet revealed nothing but polite curiosity. She shifted slightly to face him a little more, yet avoided eye contact to prevent any more ridiculous blushing. She had never been good with guys, often suddenly becoming hopelessly socially awkward when it really mattered.

When she finally looked up at him, Byron gave her a bright white happy smile. While he was away and with his hood on most people wouldn’t recognize him, he preferred to keep it that way. Sometimes not talking to a fan was nice but hey, if she turned out to be one there was no reason to treat her any differently. In the reflection of the sunlight he saw her cheeks change a bit of color and he couldn’t help but grin a little wider. Maybe he shouldn’t be happy that he can make some people blush but he did find it amusing.

“Oh no, I’m just here visiting. You’re very good, I think Bob Ross would say all my heart is actual mistakes including my stick figures.” A small chuckle left him as he looked out over the scene then back down at her drawing observing the details in her little doodle. “I hope you don’t mind me looking. I know some artists hate it but I love watching someone passionately do their craft.” A small nod rose and fell his head as he watched her for a few moments longer then turned his gaze to the see.

Los Angeles had water but it was nothing like the waters of Hawaii. The waters, the air, the atmosphere, all completely different compared to where he lived and he loved it. “I’m Byron by the way. Do you mind if I sit with you? I don’t want to impose…”
